[Game Thread] Chapter Five: Everything Changes

[Battlechaser]

As the mage fell back onto Ziliira's lap, Léon's hand slipped to his rapier. He had no idea what to expect. For all he cared Morgan would be the new demon and if necessary Léon would kill him there and then. It all depended on how the mage acted.

[Blue]

Had Nevh been informed on the wager, she'd quickly send through her own hunch. Though perhaps it was more of a strong hope.
"You bet! All-in on Ihnolkar."

[SpatulaOdoom]

A light sheen of sweat breaks out on the mage's brow.

[Makenshi]

Rising appears to be staring into the distance now too, not seeming to register anything around him while a light sheen of sweat starts to appear.

[Battlechaser]

Great another one. Léon nudged Lucien and nodded to the Child. "Keep your eyes peeled. Something is off."

[Makenshi]

Lucien gives a weary sigh. "There always is when Morgan's involved. Let alone a second seer and whatever is in that dagger."

"Aren't you a seer too?" Didina asks.

"If a stream can be called a river, then yes, but you can't really compare what I do to what Morgan or Kala do."

Morgan's face reddens as though he had a fever and the pattern imprinted on his hand begins to raise blisters.

[Blue]

Nevh had witnessed a few of Morgan's seer trances and they usually didn't last too long. She figured that one would be another big one, but she had no idea how intense those dagger trances could get. The absence of anything new since Morgan's question made her a little more anxious than she already was.
"What's going on? Is he back yet?"

[Battlechaser]

Lucien's explanation eased Léon's mind - a bit. "He has done this before, right?"

[Makenshi]

"Not yet." Zilira sends back to Nevh, while replying to Leon too. "To the other dagger in our possession. It literally took his breath away until he let go, but he did so quicker this time. Still, this was seems to have already lasted longer the the first, but the first was apparently rather...abrupt. The Elder forced him out and ended the communication." She puts a hand to his forehand and frowns slightly. "It seems a safe bet this is Ihnolkar, given how hot he is at the moment."

As Morgan continues to sweat, Rising's eyes drift, seeming to focus on things not there, and both remain dead to the world.

[Blue]

Wherever she was, the news made her weak in the knees for an instant. The terror was still there, but it made her more resolute than ever to go through with her decision.
"Heh... Good. That's good. Very good."

A pause. She thought she'd has to be told when Morgan would wake, but figured it was unnecessary. That withheld, she didn't know what to say. That this Elder was apparently a chatty one was perhaps a good sign. Then again...
"...maybe it would be a good idea to try to shake him off that trance before too long. Pull him far away from that dagger. That Elder could be forcing him to stay just as the other one forced him out. And we don't know what he might be able to do to him in there."

[SpatulaOdoom]

[Makenshi]

"He's already let go of the dagger. Sooner than before." Zilira responds.

[Blue]

She wondered.
"...But he is still in there..."

She didn't have think on it long.
"Perhaps it is because he is human. Ihnolkar has a great influence over us. I believe the risks of letting him remain in this 'conversation' to be unreasonable. We have our answer, I think we should try to snap him out of it."

She remembered she had promised to try to keep him safe if she could. Although she hadn't been forced to accept it, it could have been the price of her doom-prophesy. The great peril looming over him that she might have been worried about was perhaps this one. Or another, but she was maybe running out of time to keep on honouring her word, so every little danger now seemed a lot more dangerous.
