Tabatha never new scurrying could make such a ruckus! The sound of scores of legs slamming the gravel and earth as they appear from seemingly nowhere! The darkness and depths from around the keep held secret the arachnid foes very well, and Tabatha scrambed for action. Her friends all seemed to be much more ready for this than her. She was absolutely not prepared or practiced in a full scale assault on a squad level. She worked from silence and stealth. She was pulled from her frozen state by the reassuring hand of Ban, who prayed over her. She felt emboldened by this, and she could feel her friendship becoming instantaneously stronger with his support. She grabbed a dagger from her belt in each hand with new vigor.
However, what she now had in confidence she still lacked in tactical prowess. Her thoughts were simply to follow whomever looked liked they knew what they were doing. Kerrick had already sunk an arrow into one of the enemy, and Keloryn a spell she did not see land. Seeing the fray starting to unravel, she did the most reassuring thing and followed the one with the biggest sword. She ran up just off the hip of the fighter, and to the front of the wizard. It seemed the best place to be most protected.

The spiders perform an almost choreographed routine, twisting, jumping, and skittering about. Through the mesmerizing movements, you see a downpour of webbing fly towards your group.

Barely scurrying out of the way of the web, Ban wipes some sweat from his face, with his robe before quickly positioning himself closer to the rest of the group, deciding for no to delay any action until the outcome of the encounter is clearer.

Kerrick finds himself covered in the sticky strings. Unable to move his legs and barely able to move his hands, he takes a moment to consider the best Holding action for you to keep things moving. Feel free to post when you get a chance.course of action. Ban isn't as unlucky, ducking under the webs that came his way. He likewise waits for an opening to act.
Meanwhile the closest spider gets frustrated at his poor aim and jumps at Altor, 4 damage, Poisoned (1 damage per round) unless DC14 FORT savesinking its teeth into her arm. ![]() Last edited by quintangible; May 11th, 2017 at 10:51 PM. Reason: Fortitude save... duh |

Altor smoothly dodges another ball of webbing, but in the process leaves herself wide open for one of the spiders to get in close. The foul vermin's fangs sunk in through the rings of her chainshirt, venom seeping into her veins. The young woman's arm was aflame as the poison started to work through her, making her grit her teeth in pain. But vengeance would be hers for the taking. With a loud roar of battle, Altor swung her massive sword upwards in a vertical arc. As the blade reached apex, she swung her entire body to bring it down, mixing her own force with that of gravity for a punishing blow against her target.

A flurry of webs was launched, and Tabatha's only reaction was to leap out of the way. Rolling forward, she found herself dodging a freshly split spider and tumbling out in front of the group! There was no time to come up with a clever action here, only time to react. She ran full force towards the spider on the edge, swingingly wildly with her first slash, but catching some particularly soft bits with her off hand stab. She hoped that the rest of the group would rush in behind her for help.

Kerrick manages to free a dagger and start cutting at the webs. He doesn't have much luck, and remains ensnared in them. One of the spiders loses a leg to Tabatha's dagger and attempts to bite her, failing miserably. The rest of the spiders continue their spray of webs, hoping to disable their prey. The babies do prefer live meals...

The spiders seem to have a smug look of satisfaction as they watch a few of you struggling with their webs...

After ducking out of the way of the webbing, Ban darts across to Keloryn almost tripping on his robes as he does so, and with surprising ease, rips the webbing off him, freeing the mage. He looks down at him and barks "Just kill the blasted horrors!" before turning to keep his eyes on the creatures.

The burning pain of the poison would distracted Altor from the balls of web flying through the air, allowing one of them to hit her square on, wrapping its gooey silk around her arms. As her limbs were pinned to her sides and her massive sword lay useless in her hands, a flicker of anger and passion started to light within her. With a battlecry that would have made her father proud, Altor flexed and pushed her arms outward in each direction, causing the webbing to almost explode off of her.
Then with only one hand, she raised the giant sword in her grip and pointed at the nearest spider. "I am Altor, daughter of Harus the Wyrmbane, and I will not go down to a couple of overgrown bugs like you!" The fact that the vermin could not understand her threat either went over her head or she just didn't care. Her passion carried her swiftly to face the next horror. |

Kerrick continues to struggle with the webs that keep him ensnared. Tabatha takes two more swipes at the injured spider, her blades striking nothing but air. The spider bites back, but also misses. Another spider bites at Altor as she approaches, also without success. The remaining spiders attempt another volley of webbing.
