Update on 9/23/22: I have begun to construct an encyclopedia of sorts for the campaign setting. If you wish to use it for your applications and general knowledge, use the thread located here. More information will be added onto it soon!
Update on 9/26/22: I have adjusted the encyclopedia in order to better compensate for information. Instead of multiple pages with setting content, the main informational post will soon give links to resources and information about the setting that can be viewed and read. Once the group is selected, the setting book will be shared via D&DBeyond, in order for easy access to setting information. In the meantime, please private message me with any questions you may have about the setting, and I will give you any answers you need. The encyclopedia will still host thread links for homebrew, custom systems, and parts of character creation. In addition, there is a link to the wiki page for the setting in the post below, under "Questions". Thank you for your understanding!

Where can I find more information on Exandria, Wildemount, and the overall setting?
Though I will be giving much more detailed information to those who are accepted from the initial applications (cities, the pantheon, history, etc.), I would recommend checking out the Critical Role wiki to begin with. Click here for a page that describes Exandria as a whole, and there are links within that will lead to other pages describing areas more in depth. Again, do not worry if you are not extremely well versed in the setting, I am here to help and answer any questions!

Quote:
Does "all official content" include Tasha's Origins for races in character creation?
This does include Tasha's Origins for races. Feel free to use that ruleset for your character build!
3.
Quote:
Are Artificers and/or Firearms okay? What is the level and aesthetic of technology?
Artificers are a bit of a touchy class in this setting. I would say they could work, but they wouldn't have an Eberron level of technology available. It would be more Hupperdook and less Aeor. For those who are not familiar with these locations, think "toned down steampunk" and not "high-powered automatic weapons".
4.
Quote:
What sort of tone will the adventure have? Serious and deep, light hearted and heroic, or somewhere in between?
The tone is going to be a mix of different elements. There will be moments of celebration and joy, mystery and doubt, sadness and introspection, as well as character development and backstory integration. A journey is oft wrought with a plethora of emotions and outcomes.

Quote:
Are Blood Hunters playable in this campaign?
Indeed, they are! Live your best Blood Hunter life!
6.
Quote:
So blood hunters are okay, how about gunslingers?
Yes, gunslingers are a playable class! There are firearms, though they are more simple in nature. Pistols and muskets are available to select individuals or militaristic forces. More advanced forms of black powder technology may exist, but would require a lot of effort - or luck - to obtain.

An Exandria game? Sign me up! I went really simple on the backstories for now but I have a lot more detail for both characters in my brain. I can add more if you want.
What interested you in applying for this game?
It seems to satisfy two really specific things that I've wanted from D&D for a while but haven't been able to get. A game that takes place in Exandria. And something that appears to be a roleplay heavy long play. I like realism and dark topics for my characters and you just can't explore than in a combat heavy game.
Do you feel like a commitment to a long play-by-post game is feasible for you? How many posts do you feel you could make in a week?
Absolutely it is. I can usually one to two posts a week, more if I'm really invested in the game.
Are you a Critical Role fan? If so, are you willing to play in the setting without seeking out canonical characters and/or material unless it is appropriate to the adventure?
Huge fan. I've been watching since campaign one. It got me into D&D in the first place. I can totally play without seeking out canonical characters and material, I'm not a metagamer. I have of course made characters for the setting with connections to canonical characters, but I will not be using them here.
This campaign will use D&DBeyond for character sheets, and you will be added to a campaign with the other players using the site. Are you comfortable with D&DBeyond and using it for gameplay, character info, and keeping notes?
Yes! I prefer it to paper sheets. Just keeps things more organized and the information easily at your fingertips.
This campaign will use Discord solely for the purposes of OOC communication. Will this work for you?
Another yes!
Do you have any writing samples or posts that you are proud of? Give a link and I will take a look!
Anything I've written in this thread is stuff I'm really proud of. Particularly this one and this one.
Character Name: Abel Amythia
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Rogue (Soulknife)
Character Race: Tiefling
Physical Description: Abel stands at about 5' 6" with a lean build. His hair is white in color, about shoulder length and a little scruffy. His skin has a gray tinge to it and his eyes are silver in color. A pair of long, curving, horns protrude from his forehead. He dresses in simple clothing mainly in dark colors like grays and blacks. He does own formalwear and will reluctantly wear it when the situation calls for it, but prefers to be comfortable and not showy.
Idea of Backstory: A former Zemnian assassin who worked for some of the highest ranking people in the empire, mainly the Cerberus Assembly. He was forced to flee to Xhorhas after seeing something that he shouldn't have. Now the hunter has become the hunted. There's a price for his head that any assassin worth their salt would be after. He likely can never return to the empire. So instead, he's going to take that information directly to the enemies of the empire that would most want to have it. As they say, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Character Name: Scout
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Barbarian (Storm Herald)
Character Race: Wood Elf
Physical Description: Scout stands at just over 6 feet tall with a well muscled build. She has warm brown hair and keeps the sides of her head shaved and the hair on top of her head long with various beads, rings, and braids throughout. Her eyes are bright green. Her face is covered in tribal tattoos that are red in color, they also extend to her arms, hands, and chest. She dresses mainly in leathers and furs.
Idea of Backstory: Scout belongs to one of the many tribes that call the marshlands of Xhorhas home. In this tribe nobody has names until you earn them. Scout earn hers by, well, scouting, she was very good at catching sight of creatures who didn't want to be seen. This tribe was also locked in an almost constant rivalry with a nearby orc tribe. One day, Scout returned from a mission to find that another tribe was at their camp. One of the many goblin tribes that hers was friendly with. They were asking for help. Something was going on in the city of Urzin and they were calling as many people as they could to help. Though not part of the Kryn Dynasty, Scout's tribe was on friendly terms with them. So they agreed to help. Scout volunteered to go, as she has friends in Urzin that it would be nice to see again.
I'm interested in joining. I'm newish in the Critical Role setting. I've been watching the old shows (currently in episode 52 of campaign 1)
I'll read more of the campaign details, and see what I can come up with by the weekend
What interested you in applying for this game?
I've been looking for a new 5e game, and am a fan of Critical Role.
Do you feel like a commitment to a long play-by-post game is feasible for you? How many posts do you feel you could make in a week?
I can usually manage an average of 3-4 posts a week.
Are you a Critical Role fan? If so, are you willing to play in the setting without seeking out canonical characters and/or material unless it is appropriate to the adventure?
Yes (currently working on watching Campaign 1), and yes
This campaign will use D&DBeyond for character sheets, and you will be added to a campaign with the other players using the site. Are you comfortable with D&DBeyond and using it for gameplay, character info, and keeping notes?
I usually use MythWeavers for character sheets, but can use D&DBeyond
This campaign will use Discord solely for the purposes of OOC communication. Will this work for you? Yes

Character Name: Declan Varis
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Fighter (psi warrior). Later multiclassed with Rogue (soulknife)
Character Race: Half-elf
Physical Description: To humans, Declan looks elven, and to elves, he looks human. Standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs approx. 160 pounds, with striking pale blue eyes like his mother. Declan usually keeps himself clean shaven, but when his facial hair does grow in it's sparse thanks to his elven ancestry. Usually dressed in dark blue tunic or coat, with a matching hooded cape. Brown leather armor and bracers. A sheathed longsword on his left hip, and a handaxes hang from his lower back.
Initially met, Declan seems distant and aloof, but is actually just quiet and reserve. When he does speak he is a straightforward, plain talking man. Though he often finds it awkward to connect with others (outside of a select few), he's happy to help those in his community.
Idea of Backstory: Growing up in Dwendalian Empire, Declan's early years were a traditional childhood, if isolated. His father was a trapper near a small town. In a chance encounter in the woods, his father met a beautiful elven huntress. The two fell in love and settled in a small cabin where they were soon blessed with a baby boy, Declan. Their peaceful life was disrupted the day his mother didn't return from a hunt. It wasn't uncommon for her hunts to go for a few days. After a week though, his father went looking. When his father returned, but did so alone. Her longbow in hand, the only sign of her which he found in a clearing marked with blood.
For the next seven years, it was just the two of them. Only coming to town to trade the skins and meat from the creatures they trapped. Eventually his father's heart opened enough to find love again. This time with a woman from town. A widower with a daughter of her own. A year later, his father remarried and they relocated to town. Declan found living in town as isolating as living out in the woods. Well... except for his kind new stepmother and stepsister who were very welcoming. Two years later, their little family grew again with a new baby, a baby half-sister.
Living in town had its challenges, but life seemed good. That was until the raids started. Starting with isolated, small attacks before growing in size and aggression. Some of the villagers were taken prisoner (Declan's father among them). A small band of Crownguard were passing through on patrol agreed to deal with the problem. Considering the raiders' numbers some local volunteers were recruited, including Declan and his step-sister. The raiders were all killed, but not before they murdered many of the prisoners. Declan's father was one of the casualties. See more need for a capable, martial presence the soldiers stayed long enough to train a local militia. Declan was one of the first to volunteer. After a few years, Declan felt the call to learn more. Believing, as a fighter, he could do more to protect his community.
He moved the city and found training with the Crownguard. A couple months in, a merchant caravan was captured and dragged into the woods. Sent on the rescue, recalling what happened to his father years back Declan feared for the captives. After some hard convincing, he persuaded his superior of a risky plan. The idea was to allow the slaver to be captured Declan, then as the Watch launched their attack Declan would fight from inside the slaver camp to protect and free the prisoners. Fortune smiled on Declan that day. Not only did the plan work, but from among the freed prisoners he met, Devi, his future wife. From one of the slavers' body he found a peculiar item which he kept as a trophy, an old key.
Part of the Dwendalian Empire's Righteous Brand. More specifically the deep cover spy for the Augen Trust.
Idea of Backstory: Former member of the Dolorav tribe
Litha grew up in the Dolorav tribe in the Iothia Moorland of southern Xhorhas, with little understanding of her celestial heritage other than that she was different. Taught from childhood to fight and survive. As she entered adolescence, she began to recall subtle knowledge about things and places she should know. Starting first in her dreams, and then as she was awake. Afraid of how her tribe would react, she kept the strange memories that were not her own a secret.
In keeping with the blood oath called the Marking, Litha was given the name "Web Cleaver." However, earning her tribal name didn't sooth her like she'd hoped. In fact, it deepened the concerns she had about the memories that weren't her own, or so she believed. It was shortly after that that the tribe had an unwelcome visit. A group from the Kryn Dynasty were passing through the Moorlands. As her tribe observed from a distance to ensure the travelers didn't stay, one individual raised her curiousity. A member of the noble Den Beltune who seemed -familiar?
W.I.P.
I've done some adjusting to backstories as I've been reading about Wildemount/Wynandir

Reason: adding backstory details
What interested you in applying for this game?
I am a Critical Role fan, coming to the show during lockdown (C2) as part of my return to ttrpg and introduction to 5e. I love the world they inhabit and the lore that surrounds it and the opportunity to explore with a character of my own it is too fine an opportunity to miss. In addition, relationships and story telling is the key and a longer campaign would be a chance to see that grow.
Do you feel like a commitment to a long play-by-post game is feasible for you? How many posts do you feel you could make in a week?
Yes. I am on rpgx daily and 2-3 posts a week should be no issue. The longer term commitment is also an attraction to the game.
Are you a Critical Role fan? If so, are you willing to play in the setting without seeking out canonical characters and/or material unless it is appropriate to the adventure?
I am a fan but would have no need to mix the two unnecessarily. I think I would be less inclined to play if it was simply an add on to the storylines which have been done.
This campaign will use D&DBeyond for character sheets, and you will be added to a campaign with the other players using the site. Are you comfortable with D&DBeyond and using it for gameplay, character info, and keeping notes?
I am comfortable with D&D beyond and have used it before
This campaign will use Discord solely for the purposes of OOC communication. Will this work for you?
I have also used discord before and have no issues with it.
Do you have any writing samples or posts that you are proud of? Give a link and I will take a look!
Character Name: In the tradition of Firbolgs, he doesn't have a name as such, he was known by his family as Tree-Carer due to his role and talents. I would anticipate a name will come for the sake of the party.
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Ranger/Gloomstalker (or Hunter dependant on relevance)
Character Race: Firbolg
Physical Description: Standing about seven and a half feet and of a stocky build. Long shaggy red hair and beard, braided with wildflowers and moss. Armour and clothing also with interspersed patches of moss, vines or plant life and wears a large cloak, may have once been an animal hide but appears to have its own little ecosystem going on. An imposing, but calm and thoughtful character.
Idea of Backstory: Tree-Carer had lived all of his life in the same forest in the north of the Marrow Valley, located between the southern-most edge of Grimgolir and Bladegarden. Despite the constant proximity to conflict, their life was a peaceful thing. A duty to care for the area of natural beauty and gently discourage anyone from passing through or disturbing the variety of plant and animal life which flourished. Their home was built on a site sacred to giant-kin and the fey alike and this powered both their protective magic and the natural groves which surrounded them.
Some time ago, Tree Carer was unsure for his family did not measure its passing closely, a stranger arrived unannounced. This stranger appeared to have skills which allowed him to bypass much of the illusionary magics which Tree-Carer's family employed to hide their home and he approached with interest. While he carried no weapon, he appeared to have sustained several injuries and there was initially some concern for his intentions.
The stranger seemed to share a passion for nature and as he recovered from his wounds would walk with the family and ask questions of their home and duties. Tree-Carer had been away from the family home dispatching a particularly persistent hunting party. When he returned, he found the house destroyed by fire. His parents had died within the building and he could not find trace of the stranger anywhere. The magic was also gone, and the forest left unprotected.
He mourned, buried his family and began to rebuild, the way of his people was to persist, to protect and nurture, he must continue this. As time passed though, he developed a notion, as was his way, and could not shake the fact that this stranger had been responsible for bringing this trouble to his home, which could not be ignored.
His notion grew into a need and gathering his gear one day to wander within the woods, he decided he must seek out answers. The stranger had approached from the east, so he set off in that direction. He passed the Ashguard Garrison, easily as they were focused on creatures bringing war and destruction, reaching the marshland beyond, a new life and answers to seek.
Character Name: Ozmit Kalember
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Rogue/Swashbuckler. (Possibly Hexblade angle at some point if it fitted the story)
Character Race: Dark Elf/Drow
Physical Description: Ozmit is slight of build, with long dark hair tied into a narrow braid and a light grey complexion. She has a crescent red moon tattoo on the right side of her face symbolising the stage of the moon Ruidis on her birth. Her eyes are a pale blue and always shining as if fireworks were constantly exploding in her mind. Some might say nervous, but there is a confidence that belays that impression if you pay enough attention.
Idea of Backstory: Ozmit was born and raised for the first nine years of her life on Darktow Isle in the southern Lucidian ocean. Her parents were Captain and Wind-Talker on one of the Plank King's ships and she was cared for by a community of sailors' families while they were at sea. As such, their relationship was far from traditional but life was good and her fate seemed sealed to follow in her father's footsteps as a corsair captain.
Then came the ascension of the new Plank King Wyatt Maranoss. Overnight, select vessels, crewed by sympathisers to the deposed King simply were 'lost' with all hands. Ozmit's parents were on one such ship. Assuming the same fate may befall others still on the island, many were smuggled away, Ozmit included and taken to various orphanages through the menagerie coast. Safe.
The only memory she had left from her parents was the sword her maternal grandfather had carried. The blade was plain and the hilt lacked the lustre it obviously had in her Grandfather's day but it remains Ozmit's most prized possession. At her lowest ebb, following exile from Darktow, she could almost hear something from it's being call to her.
Ozmit grew into sailing as was her first great love, she worked on several vessels but never ventured close to Darktow or passed through the shipping lanes frequented by Maranoss's presence. Unsure whether any danger still existed, she was smart enough to steer clear. Now venturing even further afield to the wastes of Xorhas and the exciting port of Jigow. Ozmit had been offered additional pay to transport the goods by land while the ship was refitted and found herself in the Brokenveil Marshes and Urzin.

What interested you in applying for this game?
I'm in the market for a new game, several of my existing ones having slowed or ended. The amount of work you've put into the ad shows the level of dedication already put in, and I hope/expect that will be reflected in the game itself.
Do you feel like a commitment to a long play-by-post game is feasible for you? How many posts do you feel you could make in a week?
I've been operating continuously on the site for a little over four years now. I've been in some games spanning multiple years. That said, you're proposing a very long term campaign, and I couldn't say just how long levels 1-12 could take in PbP. Nobody can see that many years ahead, but I have no plans to go anywhere. Two posts a week, assuming something to respond or react to.
Are you a Critical Role fan? If so, are you willing to play in the setting without seeking out canonical characters and/or material unless it is appropriate to the adventure?
I am not a big fan, no. Nothing against it, I just prefer to play over listening/watching other people play. But I have adventured in Exandria before and enjoyed my time there. I will work under the assumption that your canon is your own.
This campaign will use D&DBeyond for character sheets, and you will be added to a campaign with the other players using the site. Are you comfortable with D&DBeyond and using it for gameplay, character info, and keeping notes?
I have a dndbeyond account and am familiar with maintaining character sheets there. I am not as familiar with what you mean by gameplay and notes, but I imagine I can adapt if you explain your desires.
This campaign will use Discord solely for the purposes of OOC communication. Will this work for you?
I pretty much live on Discord these days.
Do you have any writing samples or posts that you are proud of? Give a link and I will take a look!
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Monk (Way of the Ascendant Dragon)
Character Race: Dragonborn (Mechanically, FToD. Culturally Draconblood.Metallic)
Physical Description: Still young, lean and wiry, Argus is not as broad or imposing as many of his race, but his small frame belies his pure physicality. The fine silver scales of his chest give way to thicker scutes along his back, shoulders and up to his head, crested with a series of horns. Cold, blue eyes stare out from his face, with a fixed, attentive gaze. He is quite vain, particularly about his long, whipcord tail that he regards as a symbol of his noble heritage. Despite all this, he never lets his vanity or taste for rich, sumptuous clothes interfere with his fighting prowess. Brocade cloaks are cast aside to reveal simple training garments beneath, and polished scales are gleefully blemished and cracked in the heat of battle.
Idea of Backstory: The youngest scion of a mechanical backgroundnoble Draconblood lineage, Argus was raised on stories of Draconia's glory days, before the fall. His family fled the Chroma Conclave's assault and the Ravenite uprising, taking refuge in their properties along the Menagerie Coast, and did their best to continue their lives as if nothing had changed. But time and money both fade away, and the House of Varak is much diminished from its halcyon days. Old connections and sources of income have dwindled, leaving the family badly in need of revitalization.
In an effort to reignite some of the House's interests in more distant parts of Wildemount, Argus has departed on a journey to the northeast as a representative. Many years have passed since since the family last conducted business in Xhorhas, but the dark elves have long lives and even longer memories. Perhaps he will be able to reestablish old lines of communication. However, due to the House's... temporarily impoverished state, what once might have been a leisurely cruise along the coast has turned into a cross-continental slog... now thoroughly mired in the Brokenveil Marsh.
Character Name: Lysander 'Flicker' Talendril
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Wizard (See noteBladesinging)
Character Race: Fire Genasi
Physical Description: A mish-mash of bloodlines and primal influences, Flicker's heritage is a bit of a mess. Perhaps a touch of elf around the ears, but that frame is too broad for one of the fair folk. Probably half-blooded at best, with that bronze skin... tanned from a lifetime at sea? Or is that some kind of metallic sheen? And of course the hair, the hair is the thing that most catches the eye. Shaved high on the sides and pulled back into loose braids, orange at the roots, fading to a yellow-blonde at the tips. In certain light, it almost appears to be living flame. No, wait... that is actually fire. When Flicker channels some of the primal magic that is his birthright, the hair ignites, but does not burn. It gives him the appearance of a candle in the wind, lending itself to the nickname granted him by his shipmates. Flicker dresses simply and lightly, as befits and seaman. Nothing to weigh him down should he fall in the water.
Idea of Backstory: An orphan of Rexxentrum, Lysander was quickly singled out by his unique appearance and plucked from the streets by Magister Talendril, a member of the Cerberus Assembly. Under the guise of adopting and training the young boy as an apprentice, Talendril studied his new charge's primal connections. Could he harness this power for the Assembly or himself? At the very least, he would be able to bring Lysander into the fold once his training was complete.
But for his part, the young apprentice was not so sure that he wanted to be part of his master's shadowy organization, or be subjected to any more 'experiments'. Once he had grown old enough to earn just a little freedom, Lysander was able to make contact with the Myriad. They surely had designs on him themselves, and their ultimate motives were no more clear. But for now they were willing to help a young genasi escape from the Assembly's clutches. For many years the boy who had been called Lysander served as a mechanical backgroundsailor under the Myriad flag. Earning the trust and companionship of the crew, along with his new name, Flicker has made a life for himself, but often has to turn a blind eye to the more unseemly aspects of his employer. Perhaps it is time to seek out a new direction in life. One port is as good as any... until you find yourself lost, miles from sea, stuck in this gods-forsaken swamp.
Note: The TCoE version of Bladesinging appears to ease the elf-only restriction introduced in the SCAG, so I'm assuming this is okay. Let me know if otherwise.

I am assuming, based on the above, that you are looking for more barebones backstories at this time, with the more explicit details to be codified later (if chosen). If not, please let me know and I can expand accordingly.
Questionnaire Feedback: As for what I meant in regards to note keeping and gameplay is based around the fields that D&DBeyond has in their character sheets for organizations, allies, enemies, etc., which I find very useful for quick reference and upkeep.
Okay, that makes perfect sense, and sounds like a good idea. Sometimes I'll make throwaway references to NPCs and the like, and it can often be difficult to remember what I've said about them if it everwhen it comes back to haunt me.
Character Questions and Feedback:
Argus Varak
First off, cool character concept! I haven’t seen a Way of the Ascendant Dragon monk in action yet, so that’s something I can definitely get behind!
I'm glad you like him. One thing I do appreciate about Exandria is the presence of a history and culture for the dragonborn, as they often feel out of place in older settings (because they were, in fact, added later). I think it meshes surprisingly well with the Way of the Ascendant Dragon, too. I was intrigued by the subclass when it first appeared in a UA article, but haven't had the opportunity to try it out myself. It did feel a little unfocused at first, freely swapping between all the elements/breath weapons... but I liked adding the metallic flavor to it all and imagining a monk attempting to transcend his own type, to become more like Bahamut and be of all the metals.
What type of business dealings do you feel that the Varak family would have specialized in?
I did leave the concept of 'business' intentionally nebulous, much in the same way a character in a Jane Austen novel might return to London to 'see to some business'. So, some form of employment sufficiently detached from any form of actual labor as to still be appropriate for a noble family to engage in. Probably some form of trading? Not being actual merchants, that's far too tawdry. Something like commodity trading, possibly. Raw materials shipped around Wildemount on a fleet of ships that probably doesn't exist anymore, either destroyed in the Chroma Conclave attack, commandeered by the new government, or just lost along the way. Even if they did still own those ships, there wouldn't be the gold to maintain, equip or supply them anymore. Nor do they really have access to the resources to trade in either. I very much have the image in my head of a family in absolute decline, living out its last days in denial. Argus's whole trip is probably a fool's errand, a desperate hope to ingratiate themselves into some kind of new venture, despite bringing absolutely nothing to the table.
You mentioned that the family moved to the Menagerie Coast - how do you feel that went for them, and where on the coast would they have mainly resided?
Full disclosure, I cribbed this idea from the Dragonborn wiki entry:
Quote:
Originally Posted by Critical Role Wiki

So, the Varak family doesn't view this as a move at all, more of a prolonged vacation. Just waiting for Draconia to rebuild itself to the point that Draconbloods such as themselves can return and expect to live in reasonable comfort and security. (Denial is not just a river in Egypt). A review of the cities in the area suggest Feolinn would be a good fit. During the family's glory days, they purchased a villa (with attached vineyard) outside of town. They own it outright, so they can stay there indefinitely, but it has become shabbier and shabbier as funds become tighter. They still attend and occasionally host parties, swanning around with the Marquesian elite. They might owe a fair sum of money to the Myriad. Things are not going well.
Personal notes:
What year is it? I know we're not firmly tied to canon, but the fall of Draconia in 811 does obviously feature strongly into Argus's story. I envision his being born after the fall (or at least being too young to remember it). They treatment of the Ravenites could lead to some uncomfortable moments when talking about a lawful, noble draconblood who thinks he's the hero of his story. I was talking about this a little with Retry vis a vis his Dragonborn concept, and the way the two would come into conflict, but also hopefully help Argus grow. Overcoming his family's legacy will be part of his person arc.
Lysander ‘Flicker’ Talendril
So it seems that Flicker has some issues with his life path. Like he has an indecisive streak that doesn’t let up. Goes into the Assembly, leaves for the Myriad, then doesn’t stay there either and would rather seek a different journey. Could be an interesting approach to his personality and ties in with his nature as a “candle in the wind”. I like it!
There is a degree of indecision there, I definitely think of Flicker embracing the chaotic side of his alignment. But I think he'd describe it more as 'being trapped' and 'needing to choose his own path'. When you are young (six, perhaps?), you don't have much freedom. If a powerful mage 'adopts' you, how much choice do you have in the matter? When you make a deal with a powerful criminal organization to get away from the mage, you might feel more free... but at the same time there are less obvious ties that still bind just as strongly. Flicker is still fighting to be the one steering his own life in a way.
Would you be interested in exploring his original family at some point?
Would I? Sure, it could be an interesting thing to explore. But I think we'd find that Flicker might not be as interested. He feels like he's much more about found family, than blood family. That is to say, if we wanted to bring his family into the mix, it would probably be more about someone from his past seeking him out, rather than him searching for them, if that makes sense. A past that he barely regards as his own, but still is capable of causing him trouble.
Where did he actually come from, and why does he have such a proclivity to magic?
Another 'totally stolen from the wiki' confession.

This is what gave me the original framework to work with. The wiki also suggests that Exandrian genasi can be born, or made. I feel like Flicker is more of a 'born', as he was obviously genasi from a young age, so possibly direct involvement with an efreeti in his family background (not sure if this has to specifically be a parent). Either way, his primal blood is what gave him the initial push towards magic, but he doesn't necessarily have the same innate proclivity that a sorcerer might have, for example. It's more about study and practice... but obviously not too much of either, given that he's still only level one for now.
What is he searching for? A place to belong, or a purpose to fulfill?
I think this comes back to the found family idea. A place to belong, but without being a physical location. People to belong among. He wants to choose his own heading, and resents the feeling of being shackled to any particular path or destiny. He can certainly appreciate accomplishing a goal as much as the next person, but the idea of a grand purpose? Feels too much like obligations being forced upon you. Obviously, given the nature of D&D, Flicker won't get to pick his party members... so his personal journey will be about realizing that sometimes the choices you don't get to make are still the right ones.
As for bladesinger, I have never had them restricted to just elves, so I am fully okay with the TCoE changes.
Excellent.
Personal notes:
In trying to get Flicker from the ocean to Urzin, I was looking for the nearest port. A map suggested that Jigow would be the most likely place that he came ashore, and then was possibly sent west with a message or minor job for the Myriad. But once done, instead of heading back, he's slipped his bonds. The wiki did say that Jigow is "the starting location of the adventure module Call of the Netherdeep". Obviously, you're having us start in Urzin instead, so I don't know if this will work out nicely, or cause any issues.
I am assuming, based on the above, that you are looking for more barebones backstories at this time, with the more explicit details to be codified later (if chosen). If not, please let me know and I can expand accordingly.
That is the main idea for now indeed! I appreciate your application, I have added you to the roster. I will also be adding a link into the original post within the next few days that will lead to a subforum with more information.
On a cursory glance, it looks like you definitely know of some history and mythos within Exandria. Cool stuff!

While I’ve not watched full CR episodes, I am a fan of the setting. Also a fan of D&D in all its settings! I see this ad has just recently been established, so I thought I should apply sooner than later because I know these advertisements fill-up fast.
Do you feel like a commitment to a long play-by-post game is feasible for you? How many posts do you feel you could make in a week?
I’ve not been active on this site in a while, but at one point I think I was averaging something like 4-5 posts per day lol. I can easily post once a day, five to seven times weekly.
Are you a Critical Role fan? If so, are you willing to play in the setting without seeking out canonical characters and/or material unless it is appropriate to the adventure?
Yes, absolutely. I am a fan of the setting, I like immersing myself into whatever setting I’m playing but with caveat towards originality and doing what’s best for the game and everyone’s collective immersion.
This campaign will use D&DBeyond for character sheets, and you will be added to a campaign with the other players using the site. Are you comfortable with D&DBeyond and using it for gameplay, character info, and keeping notes?
Yes, definitely. I love D&DBeyond, I’ve made a few people using their character builder and it’s pretty slick. I don’t do any of the paid content, so my options are typically limited to what I guess would be in the basic game (backgrounds and so forth). Which is fine, I’m pretty basic with my character mechanics anyway.
This campaign will use Discord solely for the purposes of OOC communication. Will this work for you?
Yes. I’ve got an account there and I’ve used it many times.
Do you have any writing samples or posts that you are proud of? Give a link and I will take a look!
Been a while since I’ve been on this site and I have a lot of old posts, but I was always pretty proud of what I did with Adrik. I think this game or series of games got into the site’s Hall of Fame after I’d left the site, and I was a charter member of it. From 2017. I’m old!
Character Name: Grey The Green
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Fighter/Battlemaster
Character Race: Human
Physical Description: A quixotic knightly fellow, dressed largely in green and gold. He’s a noble person who loves looking his best, and hates getting his hands dirty. Everyone can just tell by gazing, he’s a clear cut above the masses, and he knows it!
Idea of Backstory: Born and raised low-nobility in Vasselheim, with a bent towards religious-minded chivalry. He keeps ties with family by way of courier, and he often writes home about his adventures, usually in a rather exaggerated manner. He believes there is a magical sword, hidden somewhere in the Marsh, and that he is destined by Bahamut to uncover it. He’s read about it in old tomes, although in reality his distinction of fact from fiction is sometimes…lacking.
Character Name: Kerri Amblecrowne
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Life Cleric
Character Race: Human
Physical Description: Kerri is a charitable soul, always out to help the common folk. She eschews edged weapons, opposed to the shedding of blood. She’s rather stoic at times, prophetic, seeing divine influence in every event. She’s pious in her devotion to Bahamut, but tolerant of devotion to other faiths. Being deemed a heretic of her own faith has softened her heart, but her shame has also made her distrustful of strangers. She’s a bit power-hungry, hoping to rise in the hierarchy of her church. She never breaks a promise.
Idea of Backstory: Kerri was raised in the church as an acolyte. One night while praying, she had a vision, she believes it was a prophesy, that could only be described as heresy. She confided her apocryphal discovery to a fellow acolyte, who made moves to disgrace Kerri once she herself rose in church authority. Now feeling stuck in her clerical advancement, Kerri hold resentment towards her rival. And it only makes Kerri want to spread the word all the more. She comes to the Marsh in order to see about ultimately aligning with like-minded followers.
Thank you for the application Geldar! You made a point about having only base level access to D&DBeyond, and that's no problem at all. I will use content sharing on the site, which will grant you access to a lot more character options!
I have added you to the roster!

What interested you in applying for this game?
Well, the Exandria setting has been something I was interested in for awhile now. Though I've watch critical role halfway through it's first arc only, I still watch highlights of the game. When I heard that modules of it we're released, I've always wanted to play, and now that theirs a game on this site, while sign me up.
Do you feel like a commitment to a long play-by-post game is feasible for you? How many posts do you feel you could make in a week?
While for longer posts, I can probably make 2 or 3 in a week. But I'm sure committed to it, I can keep up with daily posts as well.
Are you a Critical Role fan? If so, are you willing to play in the setting without seeking out canonical characters and/or material unless it is appropriate to the adventure?
Not as hardcore as other fans, but I'm a bit of a fan. And I am fine if the characters from critical role don't appear in this game. I'd like the game better if we just explored the setting and it's lore instead of meeting it's heroes.
This campaign will use D&DBeyond for character sheets, and you will be added to a campaign with the other players using the site. Are you comfortable with D&DBeyond and using it for gameplay, character info, and keeping notes?
Yep, I have a beyond account already.
This campaign will use Discord solely for the purposes of OOC communication. Will this work for you?
Of course this will work, I have a discord account as well and used it a lot in other games.
To be honest, I'm particularly proud of any post I make as my bard. Theirs something about a character that's got this hot air about them. This ego of false confidence is fun to write as, especially if she fails horribly.
After the bright light coming from The Maid consumed the entire room, Paige heard the sound of shattering glass. Then... a vacuum. No other sound accompanied it but the soundless vacuum of space. Paige wasn't stunned for long as she instinctively grabbed on a handhold and also her new friend's hand.
But when she saw that she was slipping, she realized she couldn't hold on to her. Her arms were tired and usually weak, and one was badly damaged. Yet, when she said that she'll save her, she meant every word. She let go of her handhold and hugged Krairee tightly, making sure both of her furry friends got the air they needed. This feeling was intense though, the feeling of being sent to this vacuum. It was like being dropped to a tornado, or trying to push through a storm but it was impossible, it was too strong... Of course, she wasn't profoundly distracted enough to ignore the perfect opportunity to kick Volt right on his face. That cracking sound was certainly a satisfying sound, it was what she needed all day. She gives a wave to Volt as he is sent to space and then she and Krairee grab a hold on one of the cables.
Yet, it was futile, space was a cruel mistress. It was pointless trying to defy her. In one quick motion, the cables snap and Paige and Krairee, even Port too, now head toward the stars. Nothing can hear her scream, and nothing will ever save them now... That's what she thought, but then suddenly her legs where caught by Xo, who became a sinister octopus-like being,"... Hi, so is this what you really look like under their?" Paige greets Xo as soon as the trio manage to come back in one piece and on a chair.
However, she couldn't relax now, she was put into a new dilemma,".... So, our option A is to continue the course and strike the academy, endangering countless students and others... While option B is we head to some unexplored place, stranded and trying to survive." she says, she can tell that she only has moments to react to this decision. Yet, she has already known what choice she'll make once she heard wind of Volt's plans,"Xo, I refuse to endanger anyone, or put anyone at risk. So, if you can find a way to minimize the damage, then we head to the Ark. It's a dangerous task, but you have nothing to worry about. I am Paige Skye, explorer extraordinaire and Anima Academy Ace Pilot. I laugh in the face of the unknown and head straight to the unexplored, I'm not surprised I picked this option." she says, trying to help alleviate any doubts on this decision to her companions. Though she's probably the only one here that knows that she's not what she says she is, yet she wants to protect everyone, that's probably why she's not afraid right now
Character Name: Phrose
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Bard/ College of Sword
Character Race: Eladrin (Mostly prefers to Autumn)
Physical Description: An elvish woman with Auburn hair that reminds people of Autumn. She usually wears a dark blue clothing as is traditionally worn by people of Zephrah, and carries a saber with her, and she knows how to use it well. She also wears a red scarf her father used to wear, she loves it dearly. She usually prefers to stay in her autumn state because she prefers a calmer mind and personality. Rarely she transforms to her other seasons, only out of celebration, impotent rage (or passion), and if she was depressed (stealing her scarf will probably do).
Idea of Backstory: Phrose was originally a half-elf of the Air Ashari tribe. She dreamt of being a stalwart guardian and warrior of her tribe, that is until she stumbled upon a portal and was sucked in to a new world. For years she was trapped in the Feywild. Over time, her body eventually adapted to the Plane of Faeries influence and nature, though she managed to escape before she fully decided to become a permanent resident. She now finds herself in Wildemount, permanently change as something else. And with a strange sense of wanderlust.
Character Name: Polly Willow
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Fighter (Echo Knight)
Character Race: Scourge Aasimar
Physical Description: A human girl with flowing silver hair, when you touch it, it almost feels like it's on fire. She usually wears simple silk dresses. Though, when out on a journey, she usually wears protective armor with a ceremonial design (which her other version painted herself).
Idea of Backstory: Polly was your run of the mill urchin in the Dwendalian Empire, completely unnamed and living a rough life in the empire. That is until she collapsed one day and met another version of herself. This one was only a ghost living inside her mind. She comes from an alternate world, completely different to hers, it was called Earth and monsters and magic didn't even exist. After that, they left the empire, Polly left mostly because of her sudden powers manifesting (the ability to heal injuries with a touch and silver hair), she wanted to get out of dodge fast. Meanwhile, Willow wanted to find out what happened to her, though she also wants to explore this world and maybe even become a hero. And so they became an adventurer.
What interested you in applying for this game?
After watching the first Season of Vox Machina I became very interested in Exandria. I have however never played in it, and am quite excited about the prospect of doing so. I am quite enthused about a long term, level advancing game as well.
Do you feel like a commitment to a long play-by-post game is feasible for you? Most certainly able to commit long term, and able to post multiple times per week as needed. Most certainly interested in a long term campaign allowing party members to grow as individuals and a group. I am able to post multiple times per week as necessary.
Are you a Critical Role fan? If so, are you willing to play in the setting without seeking out canonical characters and/or material unless it is appropriate to the adventure?
I have never watched Critical Role, Just the Vox Machina series. I have no specific need to rushing into meeting any canonical characters.
This campaign will use D&DBeyond for character sheets, and you will be added to a campaign with the other players using the site. Are you comfortable with D&DBeyond and using it for gameplay, character info, and keeping notes?
Yes! I have subscription and enjoy using it.
This campaign will use Discord solely for the purposes of OOC communication. Will this work for you?
Not an issue for me.
Do you have any writing samples or posts that you are proud of? Give a link and I will take a look!
So many posts after so many years on RPGCROSSING LOL.
Character Name: Galkia
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Barbarian Totem Warrior
Character Race: Goliath
Physical Description: Galkia is an intimidating figure especially for a woman. She stands just over six feet in height, with a strong muscular build. She has long dark black hair which extends nearly down to her waist and dark eyes. While attractive her demeanor is more aggressive which can be quite off putting to those who do not know her.
Idea of Backstory:Galkia's tribe was mostly wiped out and those who did survive were scattered across the lands. She was young when her village was destroyed and she escaped but she vowed to one day claim vengeance against those who killed her kin. Since that time she has been traveling working at any task that will keep her fed and clothed until the day she can claim her vengeance. Growing up apart from other Goliath's has been difficult at best considering her size, most people shy away from her altogether. She knows though that if she ever hopes to achieve her goals she will need help and is eager to find a group of individuals, eager to make a name for themselves in the world. As such she is willing to do whatever must be done to prepare herself for the future.
Character Name: Sindyrrith Yril'Lysaen
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Warlock Genie Patron
Character Race: Dark Elf(Drow)
Physical Description: Sindyrrith is average height for her kind standing five feet six inches in height. Her eyes are violet in color and framed by her gray hair which falls down past her shoulders. She appreciated art in all forms and has decorated her body with a variety of tattoo's.
Idea of Backstory:Unlike most of her kind Sindyrrith does not lean towards evil. She is more of a free spirit and always has been. At an early age her mother left the drow realm to find her way in teh world taking Sindyrrith with her. Growing up outside the drow served Sindyrrith well allowing her to interact with the other races freely. Even though many who saw her at first held prejudice against her.
Her mother found work as able as a seer and diviner telling the fortunes of others. Always on the road, and quite often not welcome in one place for extended periods of time they traveled almost constantly. Not long after reaching adulthood Sindyrrith went into the nearby town to retrieve supplies. Upon returning she found their caravan in flames, her mother trapped within died in the fire. Devastated by the loss of her mother she sifted through the remains and buried her mother keeping anything of value she could find. Among those possessions was her mother's ring placing it upon her finger she discovered the power within.
Since that time she has been traveling working the same profession as her mother but ever vigilant of those around her.
Thank you for your applications Onward and JaredSyn!
I have updated the roster, and am working on a campaign "encyclopedia" for everyone who applies to use, which will allow for more in depth character creation and backstories. I hope to have it ready to go soon, but it is a good bit to write, format, and link together. I appreciate your patience and your creativity thus far!

What interested you in applying for this game?
I came because it was Exandria, but it really looks as though you run the sort of games I like to play in. Great ad and looks like right up my steret!
Do you feel like a commitment to a long play-by-post game is feasible for you? How many posts do you feel you could make in a week?
Absolutely happy to commit, been looking for something I can really resonate with and get into. I can sometimes get a bit overly long with my posts which can slow me down, but I'm getting much better, and having an OOC solution through discord will be helpful. 1-2 a week for sure of good weight.
Are you a Critical Role fan? If so, are you willing to play in the setting without seeking out canonical characters and/or material unless it is appropriate to the adventure?
Huge fan from early on, absolutely love it. And no I won't be wanting any special fan service - It's your game and TBH I'm not expecting to meet anyone of note from the show. Just excited to put my Explorers Guide to Wildemount to proper use.....
This campaign will use D&DBeyond for character sheets, and you will be added to a campaign with the other players using the site. Are you comfortable with D&DBeyond and using it for gameplay, character info, and keeping notes?
Happy with DnDBeyond, and I'm reasonably well versed with it as a tool. Though never used it in a campaign before.
This campaign will use Discord solely for the purposes of OOC communication. Will this work for you?
Perfect for me - find it much easier to use a discord app for quick comms than a website forum
Do you have any writing samples or posts that you are proud of? Give a link and I will take a look!
Um....proud of is a strong-ish term, but I dug through a couple of examples just cos it seemed polite.....here....and....here
Name: Dewdrop
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Sorcerer (Aberrant Mind)
Character Race: Shifter (Swiftstride)
Physical Description: Long-limbed, slight, and fine boned, Dewdrop is a lot taller than she first appears. Part of that is the fact she’s often hunched beneath a heavy cloak, the other is the deceptive height of her kin. Her ears, stunted jawline, and faint stripes are really the only obvious signs of her feline heritage – though when both her eyes were amber-gold that would’ve been another. With her hair hacked short in a boyish bob, and fine features, she is often mistaken for someone much younger than her twenty-five years, though anyone who looked deeper into her eyes would see the horror of someone much older.
Idea of Backstory:
Dewdrop thought she was being consecuted, bound to the Luxon for an eternity of rebirth. She was wrong.
Born and raised in the capital of Rosohna, her early life was better than most. Her parents were quite well connected it seemed, as neither of them seemed to have a trade, but made enough from running errands and small tasks for some minor den to live a comfortable night and indulge their favourite pastime of gambling. It was, if anything, the only real skill they passed down to her beyond basic schooling and passing long, quiet days in a book. They never told her what they really did, and Dew never asked.
She probably should have. But it was too late.
Her parents had been abuzz for a week before they took her to an old manorhouse on the edge of the Gallimaufry, promising some fantastical present. They stood before the wide doors to a basement and told her she’d been picked for a greatness….. as reward for her parents hard service she would be Consecuted by the Children of Malice. If only the thrill and astonishment of the promise of near immortality hadn’t deafened her to those last three words.
Dumbstruck, she let herself be lead into the chamber where Zyn Daev’yana waited. THE Zyn Daev’yana. He didn’t partake in the ceremony, but watched with a keen eye as the associated priests knelt her down and begun the process of consecution. It would be the last memory she had for a week.
When she next awoke, her parents looked both gaunt and haggered and emotionally frayed. They fussed and wondered over her, and over the next few days explained what happened. Something had gone wrong and she’d slipped into a comatose state, barely breathing. Under guidance from Zyn, they’d been hurried out of the city and were hiding in a barn just beyond the barbed fields far from the reach of Rosohna’s gaze and authority….to keep her, and her parents safe.
Because the consecution wasn’t really legal, and though seemingly successful, she was now a walking crime of the highest order. And whatever the error had been, it meant she wouldn’t be hidden from the Bright Queen and the Den’s. Which was when she remembered those three important words: Children of Malice. They were mostly a fable, a myth, muttered and shared by disgruntled citizen’s of Rosohna. Some old, old sect who denied the power of Luxon and sought to topple the Bright Queen herself someday in the name of a more powerful god. How on earth had her parents got themselves entangled in that web?
As if her recovery from catatonia, and the creeping disgust and horror of the betrayal of her very family to their only child, wasn’t bad enough – in those first few days she discovered she was no longer alone in her own body.
It started as snatches of memory of places she’d never been. Too vivid by half to be normal. In the gaps of her lucidity she dreamt through the eyes of someone else, talking and laughing with people she’d never met but somehow….knew! Tales of madness swirled around those who’d been reborn by the Luxon, but only those who’d died and remember past lives many times. She’d never died once, so who was she remembering, and how?
The moment she was well enough, she stole every penny from her treacherous parents in the night, and fled - it was an infinitely small fraction of what they’d stolen from her. And it was that very dawn, exhausted and curled beneath an outcropping of shrub and rock on the edge of the Vermaloc, that Sabanna spoke to her the first time.
Clearly she was terrified, as she spent most of the time babbling and sobbing to begin with, refusing to answer any of Dew’s own terrified questions, before falling silent. At first Dew put it down to madness and stress, but she surfaced again the next day for an hour, just as confused and unreachable. Then the next. Dew bought a ride to Asarius on a passing caravan and finally, a week of fright and stress, she got Sabanna to acknowledge her.
Sabanna wasn’t pleased when she found out what happened, calling Dew a traitor and a monster who’d stolen her very first rebirth from her – and to this day she refused to tell Dew who she had been lest it corrupt something in the eyes of the Luxon – but over time she at least accepted that Dew was as much a victim too. And that getting as far away from Rosohna was a very good idea. Sabanna didn’t know what had happened either, or how, but they both came to realise this accidental fusion had done something to Dew, raised in her an arcane power and the ability to reach into minds not her own.
Whether or not this was something that had been done to her, or some manifestation of Sabanna acting through her, she didn’t know. But for the next three years she put it to the only use she think of….Gambling her way around Xhorhas to keep herself in food, clothes, and beds that were to her liking. At least Sabanna didn’t judge her for that. Perhaps she too was a woman of comfortable tastes.
As their ease in their shared body grew into….if not friendship at least happy tolerance, they finally settled on a course of action. If Sabanna was to be released back to the cycle of Rebirth she craved, and Dew was to scrape the greatest of sins from her own soul so she might not have to keep one eye on the shadows in alleys all her life, they needed to undo what had been done. And that meant knowledge, allies, and a lot of luck.
But Dew never minded if the odds were against her – her parents gave her that at least.
Character Name: Bodak
Character Class/Desired Subclass: Paladin (Oath of the Ancient or Redemption)
Character Race: Tortle
Physical Description:
Bodak is like many of his kind, almost as wide as he is tall, standing a hair under 6 feet. His shell is not the largest, but somewhat jagged and often adorned with trinkets and figures woven from the thick dried grass of the Brokenveil Marsh. His hide is the slightly greying hue of the Urzin Tortles and he wears an easy smile most all the time. He wears furs and kilts that leave his thick powerful arms and legs free.
Idea of Backstory: The concept of Bodak’s Inn – the Sweat Embrace - would be, to all non-Urzin natives, confusing at best and laughable at worst. But for the transient, ephemeral nature of the Urzin, it is perfect. Pulling a vast cart of bottle ales, liquor, glasses, and snacks, Bodak and his family dutifully make their way from Horizonwalker to Horizonwalker and calling the locals to gather with them. For a few minutes, occasionally an hour, the communal joy of an inn is created, and then just as quickly evaporates.
He hadn’t always run an inn. Before Sunbreaker Olomon took hold of the Urzin and brought the fealty of the Bright Queen with him, Bodak had been just another of the swampfolk. He gathered and hunted, took his watches at night, and threw his strength to defend against the Empire, the Dynasty, the dangers of the Brokenveil – anyone who sought to contain them. But as Olomon and the Dynasty turned them towards the goals of Rosohna, he found his concern for the Urzin themselves growing. And so, in order to maintain their heritage and keep alight the wildness of the Swamps in their hearts, he hung up his weapons and opened an inn so that he could provide the townsfolk even more places to gather and remember who they were together, not as dictated to by the Krynn.
His wife, Purdy, however worried for him. While Bodak did enjoy the community and celebration of the Embrace as it toured the various horizonwalkers with all the other inns, she could also tell much of him yearned to throw himself back into the wilds again, to hunt and adventure and serve. She told him often that her and their three hatchlings – Gop, Tov, and Doona – were more than capable of running the business, and that he should go and be who he was again. But Bodak stoically refused, insisting his role now was more important to the Urzin than swinging an axe at wild Moorbounders.
Recently, though, that resolve had been waning.
I do have lots of ideas but just to check I do have a coupla quick questions:
You said all official content - just checking, does that include Tasha's Origins for races (i.e. stat and skill rejigs)?
Always a finickity one, because Eberron, but are Artificers and/or Firearms OK, and is there a particular aestetic you'd prefer (e.g. more Hupperdook, less Aeor)?
How much leeway do we have with re-flavouring to match character concept? Don't wanna overstep the mark for how you envision the world to look/feel.
What sort of tone are you hoping for? Serious and deep, light hearted and heroic, or somewhere in between?
Cheers!

Thank you for the application Hillsy! I have added you onto the roster!
To answer your questions (which I will put in the "questions" section here soon since they are great ones to ask):
1. This does include Tasha's Origins for races. Feel free to use that ruleset for your character build!
2. Artificers are a bit of a touchy class in this setting. I would say they could work, but they wouldn't have an Eberron level of technology available. Yes, it would be more Hupperdook and less Aeor. For those who are not familiar with these locations, think "toned down steampunk" and not "high-powered automatic weapons".
3. It depends on the "re-flavouring" that you go for. If you could expand on this, I would appreciate it, as the concept is a bit too vague to comment on fully right now.
4. The tone is going to be a mix of different elements. There will be moments of celebration and joy, mystery and doubt, sadness and introspection, as well as character development and backstory integration. A journey is oft wrought with a plethora of emotions and outcomes.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
