I've only ever used it for combat. That's when it matters, because the DM feels an obligation to wait for everyone.

And if the DM is late we all get adamantium armour when we post for them

Corwin, I think you misunderstood Bill's question about a vote. He was asking how the expand/remain/abandon decision would be made.

My bad, I'll edit. The short version is that the once a new Abbot or Abbess is chosen by vote, the decision on what direction to take the Abbey would be up to the new Abbot.

The edit is in. I'm copying in the updated dialogue here with the added part in italics.
{responding to Bill's question about the vote} "One could say it is both. When a new Abbot or Abbess is chosen, it is by a vote of all who have sworn themselves to Torm. Thereafter, the new leader would determine the future of the Abbey, and we would be oathbound to follow the course they choose."

Qijon doesn't need to take half the night unless that's something he would prefer to do. Otherwise, it's just 1.5 hours for each watch with a little overlap with the next person. Rhaegalt will take the first or last watch that Qijon doesn't take

We don't get a long rest, but if we assume those rules for the night, we have 8 hours to cover and each non-elf must sleep 6, so Girg (13 PP), Deamiss (11), Rhaegalt (10) and Bill (8) can each do one 2-hour shift, and Qijon can do two. To cover our weakest Percs, I suggest, in any order:
Girg (13) alone Qijon (12) alone Qijon (12) and Bill (8) Deamiss (11) and Rhaegalt (10) |

Good choice - I was going to volunteer first so I can try and get more uninterrupted beauty sleep

I'll post tomorrow or after Qijon is in, whichever comes first!

Whoops, used the wrong modifier for initiative. It should be -1, instead of +1, making it a total of 4.
