Sure, it's make believe football season now and nobody cares...but the Mets just made it into the playoffs and won a game. Did you read that, they won a game in the playoffs. The Mets. In the playoffs. It's now a successful season. This in a year they were supposed to be only mid-tier. Next to the World series, and then the Superbowl...oh, wait a minute.

Regarding make believe football, no, it's not because soccer is actually football. Football is the sport where you mostly use your hands. Soccer should probably be called handball, at least by our (US) logic. No, it's make believe because I just can't get into a game where certain positions are treated like prima donnas after watching games where the likes of Ditka, Green, Hamm, Butkus, Lambert, Bell, Page, Wehrli, and Youngblood rocked offensive players. Yeah, I was a linebacker way back when I went to HS, so I tend to be defensive minded, but the game today is just too different.
