Quick Intro:
I'm Kyle, I work at Best Buy, I tend to worry easily, if I don't post every day, something pressing has come up and I will manage to find a way to post the next, almost no matter what. (Minus serious injury or familial issues. )Ah....I've never really played Pathfinder, but I have played 3.5 and D20 Modern, so I at least have a semblance of a handle on the system. I've been told it's essentially 3.75. Aaaanyways, I'm not a Grammar Nazi, but I do try and do my best to remain somewhat literate, but you'll see many glaring mistakes in many of my posts. I'll try to correct them all as I see them, but if it's anything painfully obvious and it's not edited, please feel free to point it out to me. I don't bite, I generally like to keep things civil. We have to play a game that could potentially go on for a VERY long time. Don't want any grudges. And.......I suppose that's it, aside from that I'll do my best to roleplay, so if we happen upon some Tiger-Lords, and I go charging in trying to kill them, don't blame me, blame my character.
I also work at a comic book shop, so if anyone wants to geek out with me, feel free to send me a message for a facebook add or something. I don't think anyone here will try and hunt me down and skin me to use as a throw rug. A rather fat and padded throw-rug might I add.
Anyways, thanks, and as you can I tell, I tend to ramble. So I'll stop. Abruptly. Here. Hi again.
Hi Kyle, nice to meet you. If you have a fundamental understanding of 3.5, Pathfinder is really a modified version of 3.5. It doesn't take too long to get a grasp on Pathfinder. If you have any questions on it, feel free to ask and I'll be happy to help. I'm not the biggest rules guru and there'll be times when I'll ask around for help myself! The most important thing though is that we all have fun. Indeed, I don't want any grudges occurring here either.

Not being the most trusting soul, he'd want to meet them at Oleg's Trading Post -- just to assure himself that the armed men he's joining are the adventurers rather than bandits in the woods merely pretending to be the chartered adventurers.

However, I'm open to meeting at the post, the pub, in the treeline, wherever the party's to be encountered initially. Just let me know; I'm flexible.

It was the original starting point I had in mind although a slight concern of mine was whether or not it will draw out too long if we started from Restov. It's not too far back though and it will allow for some additional roleplaying to settle in which I believe is a good idea. I'll rewind a little further and make the starting point where you've accepted the charter and had a chance to know each other in Restov before you set off for Oleg's Trading Post (via a meeting).

Arguilios, the best option for me would be if Rogan could arrive in Restov to sign up for the charter. If you could arrange for him to be there (because he heard about the Greenbelt Charter), it would be great.

Oh, and random knowledge checks .

Question for Rohor and the party: Do we need to buy rations/waterskins now, and can someone carry mine, pretty please?

Sheet is done, bar the rations question.

EDIT: Check the forum sig...have to go away for 2 weeks, came up really suddenly but not a job I can miss out on. Sorry guys, I wouldn't have applied for any games until after it if I had known it was coming up. Rohor, no hard feelings if you wish to remove my character from the game, 2 weeks seems like it's a long time to be missing in PbP.
*Insert fist shake smiley* - j/k. If you don't mind, you could perhaps allow somebody else here (although I would not suggest me, as I find it difficult to combine an actual PC's knowledge with game knowledge as DM) to take over Satinder whilst you are away so we can progress forward, otherwise I will be getting somebody else in.

Rations and waterskins are highly recommended – the distance between Restov and Oleg’s is approximately 100 miles so it’ll take a few days of travel to reach the trading post depending on your mode of transport.

Well, anyone want to volunteer to play Satinder for me for 2 weeks? With any luck you'll get to see a bit of what he's like first.

Also, again: Anyone big and strong want to carry my rations and water? I'm just about to hit medium load (though its not that big a problem if we can't shift things around, but an archer with only 20ft of movement seems a bit odd).

Put it in your pack, and drop it when you fight. Just remember to pick it up again. XD

Or buy a horse.

Rogan's horse'll pack another archer's gear for the sake of another range fighter. The more the merrier. I'll run your bard for a bit, while you tend to the needs of the bandicoot people. Naturally, I reserve the right to engender in him a certain effeminate interest in proliferation of the arts among the savages, perhaps a nervous titter and occasional off-color limerick between friends. You know: For character development. Just kidding. Or, am I? Seriously though, I'll run him right for two weeks -- no more.

I can hold the rations if you want. I'm at a light load, and I have Fast Movement, so it won't hamper me as much.

Re Finder of Paths: I suspect there will not be a shortage of strong backs for carrying things. Just remember that you didn't have access to those backs (unless you had a hireling or a pony) before you signed the Charter.

Do we know how far it is to Oleg's Trading Post? In other words, how much food will we need to have for the trip, assuming no delays*.

*I'm not saying Brune would want to carry the bare minimum. This just gives us a baseline that we can work from.

I bought a horse, nevermind! I just got really greedy with my 900gp, but a horse makes much more sense both mechanics and characterwise.

Thankyou arguilios, that sounds more or less how I'm going to roleplay him. Just shoot things, and use Perform (Oratory) to tell a really good inspiring story when you need it.

This is a good plan here, with three of us decent archers and mounted. Even without going into the Mounted Combat tree, being able to move upto 50' before or after a shot is Useful! Not to mention the longer range of travel mounts offer, in a shorter period of time. Anyway to convince more of you to go Mounted? :P

Okay! I've got Finder's character and the 900 GP he's been so jealously guarding. Who's up for a game of Blackjack?

On a more serious note, Rohor, how explicit are you with the starting budget here? I know you said to begin with average funds for the class and all, but should I account for the cost of every Kleenex disposable tissue Rogan's carrying into the opening sequence?

I am so up for blackjack with Finder's money

Regarding initial equipment, I would expect that you have accounted for the costs of equipment, including ammunition. Very mundane items (your kleenex tissues :P) and items that aren't game affecting (perhaps you have a treasured family heirloom) will be allowed and don't really require a cost, although that being said I wouldn't allow it to be sold either.

As a heads up following on from the above, ammunition, wand charges and other stuff as such. I'm not going to be the pedantic DM that will ask you to check off every charge from your wand, notch off every arrow you shot or cross off every prepared spell you cast. I trust that you all will keep track of that, and I'll do my best to keep track of other equipment, spells etc each NPC has.

Another question that I did think of earlier and forgot to put up, this is regarding speeding up the game and dice rolls. Is everyone ok with me rolling dice for characters where it could potentially speed the game up? The only one I can think of at this stage is initiative (other places, it really wouldn't speed up the game...) where instead of waiting for everyone to roll, I can roll then we can start combat immediately? Let me know.

I'm up for giving it a try, just to see if it works.

Seems like a good idea. Saves a whole round of posting if you can just roll initiative for us and say "ROUND 1, FIGHT!" I mean, if you're playing tabletop the GM rolls things like Perception to spot something hidden if you're not actively looking for it. What's the harm in the GM rolling Initiative in front of us for speed sake?

Go for it. I usually like to prompt DM's to make any rolls for me if it would speed up the game. Say Everyone's on, and I'm not and you're on a posting roll. Go for it.
