I am simply using rrashmir to the best of his abilities, which are considerable for a level 1 mage. I play him like this, I am smart a little smarter than the average human, but rrashmir is smarter than I am. So if I can figure out how to get past the encounters quickly than so can he. I do feel however that I am stealing the show. Exp wise Rrashmir is almost, if not already at the level 2 mark. While the rest of the group is lagging behind a little bit. I have no problem taking him through the sewers alone and am completely confident in his ability to handle the ghouls. |

Simply put, he could kill them ranged as his damage with his crossbow is 1d10+1 and magic for overcoming DR, with a +5 to hit average rolls will hit 3-4 rounds it would be over that way.
He could toss a few potions of cure light wounds as splash weapons.. He could use his wand of cure light wounds for 1d8+6 damage against their touch AC. Or, he could simply lead them away and dissappear behind a false wall at the first chance. There are many ways he could solo this encounter, but if you guys get bitten and fail a fort save your in pretty bad shape. I don't think anyone here has remove disease prepared. If Rrashmir gets bit and fails he can roll again thanks to cat's luck racial.. And Rogue could fall back on normal encounters for you guys and Rrashmir could avoid most simply taking a 10 on stealth for a 21 stealth and rejoin the group once the xp level has evened out and we are closer to getting out of the sewers. That way Rrashmir wont steal the show the whole time, your guys can get some xp, and I will have a chance to test out his capabilities against a few solo encounters. I am not opposed to Rrashmir being separated from the group. The point of these sewers is to get the group up to level 2, and seeing as Rrashmir wouldn't just stand by while his comrades fought, the only logical thing is to separate him. But you will have to squeeze by the ghouls being as quick and quiet as possible, if they hear people running by and making noise, then they can assume that the fire is not everywhere and they might have a better chance of running through the wall. We will find a way to even Rrashmir out once we get out of the sewers.

Well I gave some thought to that, once he hits level 3 he can take craft wondrous item and use the excess xp to make items to buff the party.
Which in turn should do a great deal to even out capabilities. Last edited by Alexader; Jan 25th, 2013 at 07:34 AM. |

I am going to edit my post to reflect Rrashmirs willingness to lure the creatures away while they escape.

Alright, let's see how the group reacts. And in case anyone else is worried about all the XP they are missing from fighting the ghouls, you will more than make up for it with Rrashmir gone.

It doesn't solve the Rrashmir problem, but you could have put a 3 sided room up (opening up to the door they just came from) and lock them in it. Ghoul problem solved, and keeps the group together.

What are the rules on attacking and running? If you make an attack, you do lose some of the distance you run, right? And technically, not having whatever feat that is, I'd 'run, stop, then be stopped', not 'run and attack while running'

They would just break the door down the second we somehow found a way to lock ít, doors can't withstand much of a beating and down here the doors are not exactlly high quality.

They're atleast steel/iron instead of wood. Rusted, probably, but still.
