As far as traits go, I am easy. Getting a ton of them and making a super powerful level one character might be fun, but just a few or even none works fine.

I see Jac as prioritising Charisma and Strength equally, but not being too hot on dexterity, wisdom or intelligence. I guess the slope set could do that ok, so again, no objections.

Cool. When it comes to stats, we'll use the preset method. You can still go with Spike and Balance if you wish, but they seem to definitely have lost the popularity contest.

When it comes to traits, whatever happens will happen. I'll tell you that it's not too far away, and that I'm leaning towards more as in at least three.

This is really fun. Even thus far everyone has been taking new and exciting turns at every corner. I wish I could tell you that I've run this campaign before, but I can't. This is the first time, and I think the fact that it's play by post has changed many of the simple little details I expected would be taken for granted.

I'm beat, by the way. Whooped. I meant to come online and say "hey, see you tomorrow about the tunnel and stuff," but I got a bit excited about what people were and have been doing.

I didn't notice on the first run through but some of these traits are seriously bleak. Like, dang.

Unhappy childhood wasn't some roly-poly belt coming off and getting a few whacks on the bum, you were enslaved and tortured. Rice runner isn't heading off to chinatown to get the bag of rice of the week and building up muscles all appropriately while simultaneously managing to do what mom and pop tell you to do, it's you were enslaved and they made you pick rice.

Can I pretend Rice runner is like that dude elected to do the pizza run except it's a kid elected to do the family rice run. That or it's auspicious tattoo because that seems perfectly safe and reasonable and not YOUR PARENTS WERE MURDERED AND YOU WERE PUT IN CHAAAAAINS.

Have at it with a creative and authoritative hand. In fact, feeling you that it be necessary to brighten the reasons for any given +1 or +2, then you may even do so.

Soooooo.... Stat placement decisions are often influenced by race... I know I am reluctant to make final decisions on stats first..

That's a fair point, though, Unca. If you were going to be playing an elfish fighter, you would definitely be putting different numbers down than if you were playing a dwarfish fighter. I dig that.

But you're not playing a dwarf fighter or an elf fighter. You're playing a human chef, who is about to fall tumbling into a fantasy world. You know in all those stories where Boring Bob the Underachiever walks through a magic golden ring in his uncle's bookstore swimming pool mirror? Or whatever they do?
Bam!
He has to stop being normal,
and become heroic!

Give me Heroic Jimmy stats, and rest peacefully, with confidence, that if Jimmy changes or adopts a fantasy race, you will have control over the change.

EDIT: according to their profiles, Lasers and Narsis were last on this weekend (Sun and Sat respectively) and Caput was on this morning... But if you go by the "Last Visit" in the user statistics field of the post header, take a day off from each...
