[Game Thread] The Boar Hunt

Tobias continues Rapid Shot, Attack 12 Damage 14 and a Natural 20 confirmation 22 Damage 26firing arrows at the approaching boars. Jesk remains Attack 20 Damage 6ready to charge anything that gets within range (~70-75ft from Tobias).

Note: +2 attack if the target boars are now within 110ft.

Firing your arrows you find that each shot quickly drops one of the approaching boars, leaving only 2 left heading up the hill.

OOC They are within the needed distance. They will actually be at your location next round

OOC Can I get a clarification on distances? When you say they will be at my location next round do you mean they will be within charging range of Tobias or just within charging range of Jesk? I assume you meant they are within full round action charging range of Jesk but still more than 70-75ft from Jesk otherwise Jesk would have charged them with his readied action. I'll include rolls for both possibilities.

Tobias Rapid Shot: Attack 23 Damage 9 and Attack 11 Damage 8continues to fire at the approaching boars hoping to drop them before they could reach him.

The boars enter Jesk's charge range. Jesk follows his training and instincts, releasing his pent up energy and Readied action charge: Attack 19 Damage 4charges the first boar.

Charging the on coming boars, Jesk's finishes off the one boar you are able to hit with one of your arrows, slicing his claws and teeth deep into the boars flesh, bring it down quickly. The last boar stops in its track and faces off against Jesk.

Jesk engaged, Tobias pauses momentarily to allow Jesk to Talons: Attack 21 Damage 2 and Attack 20 Damage 6, Bite: Attack Nat 1 Damage 1strike before Rapid Shot: Attack 14 Damage 13 and Attack Nat 1 Damage 8firing at the last boar if it was still standing.

Notes Tobias has Precise Shot so no penalty for attacking into melee. before this action 12 shots fired and 5 misses , 48 arrows remaning dice rolls I seem to be getting a lot of natural ones in this game.

Rushing the boar Jesk racks it with its two talons but thrust in a little to fast in an attempt to bit at it causing him to loose his balance and trip over himself. With Jesk tripping up over the boar you take your shots, your first shot strikes true taking the boar down in an instant, however your second shot misses the boar and just barely misses Jesk as it buries itself into the ground.

"Jesk Come Guard" Tobias orders Jesk back to his side and to guard him again. He then

looks around to determine whether the rest of the boars are still around or if they ran off when the four boars charged his position.

Peering back down to the lake where the boars were relaxing it appears that during your fight the majority of them had left only leaving a few behind that appear to be just lounging in the mud completely unconcerned with what is going on.

Tobias checks his position to ensure a good shot at the remaining boars before he starts to fire arrows at the remaining boars.

Attack and damage rolls

OOC Tobias ensures he is within 220ft of the boars (this shouldn't be an issue as the others where less than 200ft away initially and there is lots of space to approach without worrying about detection). Let me know if I need to roll a stealth check for any required movement but at this distance the distance penalties to the opposed perception check would be significant. I rolled several rounds worth of attack rolls in case the boars do not take any significant actions to change the situation. Tobias can change targets even during a single rapid shot action after learning the outcome of previous shots so he changes targets whenever the previous shot downs a boar. Feel free to ignore the later rolls if the boars react in a manner that would cause them to no longer be appropriate.

OOC nice crit

Taking aim your first two shoots hit on of the boars that isn't paying much attention to what is going on. Watching you notice that when the first arrow its goes to let off a cry but the second arrow goes straight down its throat and out the other end, killing it in an instant.

Your second volley of arrows take down another boar, but with this take down you find that the other boars in the area start to take notice and begin to scatter about mostly making their way towards the woods.

Knowing he is running out of time before the boar reach the relative safety of the woods Tobias Attack 22 Damage 7 and Attack 9 Damage 11fires at a boar moving towards the woods.

Note: The above attack rolls are based on being in 2 range increments. Reduce by 2 if the boars are over 220ft away now. Dice Rolls

Setting off two more arrows you find that one hits a boar in its hind quarter but the other misses. The boar limps off into the trees before you are able to get anymore shots off, now the only ones that remain are then ones that you took down.

Tobias sighs, "Oh well. Can't win'em all I guess" he mumbles to himself. He turns to Jesk "Jesk Heal Guard"

Tobias then moves from his position to collect proof of each kill and to 50% chance of missed arrows being reusable. Salvaged on even
