With a mumbled curse, Delth brings his weapon in close. It was almost impossible for anyone else to use the weapon effectively, thanks to his modifications, but it also meant he had to pay attention to every shot. Thankfully, he knew exactly how to fix it, and in mere seconds.

Delth finishes by pulling back the hammer and taking aim, once again.

Actions
Quick Clear (Ex) + 1 Grit point, making it a move action to fix the Broken condition.

While Madeline was pleased with the accuracy of her last shot, it wasn't enough. The man still lived, growling and hissing, and was still a threat. "Step outta there and I won't shoot ya," she chimed, aiming her gun steadily towards her cowering victim. If he didn't step out, she'd shoot him - and if he did, she'd shoot him then too. Sure, she could've shown just a speck of honor, but they hadn't done anything to deserve it. She'd reserve a privilege like that for the people she fought fairly, without relying on ambushes and sneaky types. Madeline fired.
InformationInitiative: 17.
Grit: 1/2 Remaining.
Ammo: 2/6 Remaining.

Standard Action: Firing her revolver at the anarchist in O13.
Dice Attack, Damage:
1d20+6 (12)+6 Total = 18
1d6+5 (2)+5 Total = 7

Immediate Action: If Madeline would be hit by an enemy's attack, she uses Gunslinger's Dodge for 1 grit point. She moves 5ft north and gains +2 AC against the attack. This movement provokes attacks of opportunity.

Madeline is currently wearing Ballistic Cloth. This lets her use her full AC against firearms and grants her DR 2/- vs Bludgeoning+Piercing (i.e. Firearm Attacks).

The anarchist standing in front of Darren grins as he watches the gnome approach from behind the railroader, knowing that they have him vastly outnumbered. His confidence begins to wane, however, once Darren twists his grip on the solid axe in his hand and chops down into the man's shoulder--Attack: 22 - Hit Damage: 8cleaving into the flesh and bone beside his collar. His yells fills the cavernous cathedral, as so many voices must have done through praise rather than agony in the past. His knees begin to buckle, but with a determination in his eye he maintains consciousness. His eyes flit to the far side of the chapel, looking for perhaps an opportunity to escape.

Where he looks, the anarchist in the corner winks in his direction and fires another bullet in a blast of smoke. Another yell joins the cacophany along with the wrenching sound of Attack: 19 (I had forgotten firing into melee again, and the flank... for a net drop of -2 from the original 21) Hit Damage: 5puncturing flesh. Darren's upper thigh erupts in agony as the bullet bores straight through and buries itself in the pew behind him. The man must have serious mettle to stand strong amidst the concerted efforts of those three.

Twice wounded himself, and bleeding badly behind his pew, the anarchist at the back of the sanctuary curses the whore that shot him through the chest, and pops up again to loose another round. The aim is Attack: 20 - Hitaccurate, even in all of his rage. Madeline's instincts compell her to dive over the pew in front of her in an attempt to Uses Gunslinger's Dodge, -1 Gritdodge the bullet, but is not quick enough to avoid the hit completely. She feels nothing from the bullet though, which glances harmlessly off of her armor--Damage: Would have only been 1, absorbed by Ballistic Cloth DRabsorbing what little damage she would have otherwise sustained.

-----------------------------------
Round 4

The whirling chandalier continues to grind through the pews at the left side of the building, carving a swathe through the angled rows as it jerks at the edge of it's range. The chain that holds it rattles and strains at the continuous stress and commotion.

Twice wounded himself, and bleeding badly behind his pew, the anarchist at the back of the sanctuary curses the whore that shot him through the chest, and pops up again to loose another round. Edward's booming voice shakes the walls of the sanctuary, as if a god himself were calling Jeremiah +2 Temporary HP, at 1 HP now.back from the brink. The law will not be mocked... echoes in the lawman's ears. His adrenaline pumping, and mind grasping for focus again, Jeremiah forces his eyelids open. He can feel the blinding pain of his wounds, and the metallic taste of blood fills his mouth--yet somehow his muscles are finding the strength to move again. He notices Be aware, standing up would provoke AoO from himat his feet the gnome that shot him, now swinging his club at Darren who valiantly tries to hold the tide. On the other side, about 5 feet from where the widowman lies, splinters and sawdust fly in a whirlwind of metal and wood as the tips of the front row of pews are chewed and mangled by the twisting blades of the chandalier.

Both anarchists that surround Darren are frantically swinging their clubs at the giant before them, neither aware that Jeremiah's eyes have openned beside them. Their frustration only increases as their blows continue to swipe through empty air, or glance Both attacks miss, even with flanking and raging AC penaltyharmlessly off of the man's plated shirt. Had the railroader not been shot just a second ago, and blood were not dripping from the thigh and trailing down his leg, they would question whether such a being could even be wounded.

Delth calmly and quickly clears his weapon as though it were second nature. His understanding of the mechanics of his implement are impeccable. With a grin on his face, he pulls back the hammer and fires another shot into the darkness at the far side of the church. This time the gun barks as it should, but the bite never comes as the stray bullet Attack: 6 (-4 for cover) Misscrashes through the wall beside the far anarchist; causing him to dive frantically and rethink his position.

Madeline checks her leg quickly where the bullet had grazed it, smirking at the results of her own alacrity and the quality of her equipment. Rising from the pew, she draws a bead on the twice-wounded man trying to crouch behind the pew at the right side of the chapel. Both hands holding her weapon steady, and one eye sealed shut as the other traced the sight down the barrel of her revolver.

"Step outta there and I won't shoot ya," she called to the man, weapon at the ready for any movement at all. A hand quickly raises from the pew with an extended middle finger shouting his reply. Before the hand can disappear behind the pew, Madeline's Attack: 14 (-4 for cover) Hit Damage: 7 - Killbullet drives itself through the pew, into the man's flesh and out the back of his torso. He slumps to the cathedral floor, one arm still extended with +1 grit for killfinger outstretched.

The law will not be mocked echoed over and over as the widowman's eyes opened, widening at the chewed up pews and then narrowing at the gnome now attacking Darren. Blood dripped down his chin to the ground below. He didn't attempt to get up, and instead silently calculated how best to take the little anarchist into custody. Jeremiah gritted his teeth and aimed a kick at the bastard.

ActionsRemain prone, nonlethal attack against Gnome. With Darren on the other side, I'm getting a flank bonus to attack I presume, so the final modifier for the attack is +1 (+3+2-4)
Dice Nonlethal Attack:
1d20+1 (15)+1 Total = 16

Dice Damage:
1d6+3 (2)+3 Total = 5

Darren did indeed yell when the bullet pierced his leg. However, rather than a yell of pain, or fear, it was one of rage. The veins in his neck were bulging something fierce, and you could almost swear you saw foam beginning to froth up at the corners of his mouth. The enraged bedlamite swung again at the man he'd wounded, an unintelligible howl of a batllecry sounding forth as he did so.

OOC
5/6 Rage Rounds remain.

Dice Attack:
1d20+6cx,20 (8)+6 Total = 14
1d12+7ci3 (7)+7 Total = 14

With a swift kick to the back of the legs, Jeremiah causes the gnome's knees to buckle. With a surprised cry the diminuitive man falls backwards catching his head on the side of the pew and landing in an unconscious heap on the ground. No blood appears to be pooling where he fell, and his chest continues to rise and fall steadily even though his body lies still.

Even as the gnome falls behind him, Darren drives the man before him into the floorboards like a rail-spike. The force of his axe crashes into the anarchist with such ferocity that the floorboards beneath him begin to crack and splinter before being covered by his lifeless body.

The final anarchist, rather than firing on the bedlamite again, turns and kicks out the loose boards sealing the window beside him.
Dice Strength Check:
d20+1sch10 (1 (natural 1))+1   Total = 2

His boot dashes harmlessly against the boards, achieving nothing but making noise and breaking a toe or too. Wild-eyed and frantic now he turns from the window and rushes back down the right aisle toward the foyer in the back. Fully focused on fleeing the scene, is unaware of Edward as he rushes past the gentleman, leaving himself open for an attack.

--------------------------------------------
Round Five:

The mechanism grinding against the pews in the upper left corner of the sanctuary continues to rattle and squeel before the chains fastening it to the gallery above finally give beneath the weight of the uncontrolled blades spinning below. The chandalier crashes to the floor, blades still whirling, and takes off like a disc slicing a large trench in the floor boards before colliding with the back wall and creating a new back exit where the organ once was. The blades finally grind to a halt as broken boards dangle and fall from the wall's remains. The only noise still reverberating through the desecrated chapel are the clapping footfall of the final anarchist charging toward the back, loaded gun in hand.

Delth backs up to the door, and steadies his gun. They can't let him escape, so if the others can't manage to bring him down alive, Delth is prepared to bring him down, dead.

Darren, however, was not so forgiving. He dashed after the anarchist, roaring in fury as he did, bringing Severance down to try and drive one last 'spike' into the ground.

Delth covers the back door, gun at the ready but hoping for a peaceful ending to the encounter. The threat slows the man's exit, which is plenty of time for Darren to rush in from behind. The sound of shattering bone and deflating lungs reverberates through the chapel as Darren's sledge crushes the man's chest. His limp body cartwheels over the nearby row of pews, and comes to rest half hanging over the seat and half slumped beneath the row before it. The very last of daylight is retreating through the stained glass windows, and long shadows are growing as they take over the space within. The sanctuary is finally quiet again, save for the sound of chirping crickets beginning to waft through the hole in the back of the church as the coolness of night washes through.

Congratulations. 162 xp for everyone. You'll need a light source very soon, by the way.

With the last enemy down, Darren looked around for a few moments, still snarling fiercely, before his expression softened. Severance crashed to the floor in front of the massive railroader as he dropped to all fours, looking nearly exhausted. Blood still flowed from the wound in his leg as he panted for breath.

"What the... is it... is it over? Did we win?" asked the spent railroader.

"Has anyone talent for healing? Valor alone will sustain a man only so long, Jeremiah will need help." The chaplain winces at his own wounds "Oof, Neither am I fit to continue I think."

OOCShould the minute be moments from reaching its end Edward will speak some truly encouraging words to the widowman to keep him going until we get to the healers, provided we can get there in two more minutes.

Jeremiah breathed a little easier now with the conflict concluded, and managed to fix his goggles while giving the unconscious gnome a brief look over. He hurt too much to move or do more than make his presence known. "Just a flesh wound" The widowman coughed, wiping the blood from his chin and smearing it.

"We have a captive, someone take my rope and tie him up." He rested his head against the pew and breathed deep, sighing as the pain continued to wash over him, and the world threatened to fade once again soon.

OOC: HealingNone of you presently have the ability to heal. Here are options that I presently feel would be known to your characters (meaning that there are always more options, but these are the most obvious).
  • Healing skill: I don't believe anyone has healing kits, because I haven't looked through your equipment lists to check. But according to the heal skill you may...
    Quote:
Treat Deadly Wounds: When treating deadly wounds, you can restore hit points to a damaged creature. Treating deadly wounds restores 1 hit point per level of the creature. If you exceed the 20 for Treat Deadly WoundsDC by 5 or more, add your Wisdom modifier (if positive) to this amount. A creature can only benefit from its deadly wounds being treated within 24 hours of being injured and never more than once per day. You must expend two uses from a healer's kit to perform this task. You take a –2 penalty on your Heal skill check for each use from the healer's kit that you lack.
    • There are also other options with the healing skill such as Long Term Care which could help him recuperate somewhat faster through the evening.
  • Healer's Kits: Even if you don't have healer's kits, there's an outfitters across the square. It may not be closed yet, or you may have to break in again .
  • Outside Help: There may be people who could help, though it's doubtful you'll get to them before Jeremiah falls unconscious again (not needing to stabilize, as he's already done so).

  • Drag and Wait: It's clear that Jeremiah isn't dead, though he'll look close shortly. You could fashion a stretcher and bring him to the Old Mill hoping that a night of rest does him some good.

Delth looks around for broken pews, or anything else that might be used in the construction of a stretcher, and starts putting it together.

"Come on, guys, we need to get Jeremiah back to the Inn and get him looked after. Edward, Madeline, help me out with this. Darren, can you carry our little prisoner? Are you alright?

Relieved for the battle to be over, Madeline began to reload her revolver and quickly shuffled over towards a couple of the corpses by her side. A few extra bullets here and there wouldn't hurt, and whatever honor she'd considered these fellows to have deserved was thrown out the window in the ambush. "Some rest sounds like it'll do him some good," she chimed, "just gimme a moment, yeah?"

After some unwomanly scavenging, Madeline hastened to aid the majority of the party in their attempts to carry Jeremiah. While she wasn't a surgeon at any stretch, but she could probably succeed at caring for a wounded man. If the task fell to her, that was - and she was sure that it would, regardless of any complaints she might make. She could blame ladylike housemaid stereotypes for that.
