[Game Thread] Bk 1, Ch 1: Burnt Offerings, Pt 1: Festival and Fire

"Oh! You don't know how happy I am to hear you say that!" Estella replied with glee, relieved that she could finally clean some of that annoying gore off and lessen the awful smell. The dress maker used her Prestidigitation spell again to clean Urko's boots and armor as the party headed toward the inn.

Back to the Inn As the party is deciding what to do, two more guards show up in the area. The group gets a few odd looks due to the massive amount of goblin gore on several of them, but the captive goblin commando gathers their attention. The first guard is overheard speaking to the new arrivals. "Yeah, they're OK. They took out this bunch here." He turns back to the commando and starts slapping its cheeks as one of the new arrivals takes off at a run. "Oy! Wake up beastie! YOU SPEAKA DE COMMON??" The goblin starts groaning as the companions gather up their loot and start heading to the south after those who wished it getting cleaned by Estella. Halfway back to the square in front of the cathedral, a wide eyed Tian woman rounds a corner and runs at the group. Some of you recognize Ameiko Kajitsu, owner of the Rusty Dragon Inn. Was that a small groan that just came from Lanna as the woman runs up? "LANNA! You're OK!" Ameiko runs up and almost, ALMOST, throws her arms around the tall barbarian. "ARE you OK? You are completely covered! I was so worried, I heard there was a tall redhead battling the goblins all over the city… I had to come find you for myself!"

"We're ok" Lanna said in reply to Ameiko. Pointing to her friends, she adds "Goblins are fairly squishy. Had lots of help from these guys as well. I believe the wizard here looks for a place to wash her dress. Can you deal with all this gear? I don't know if its sellable as it came from the goblins that attacked Sandpoint, but any coin we can get from it would be good."

Lanna looked at Ameiko, noticing she had apparently not been in any of the fighting. that's good Lanna thought. "You should not worry about Lanna. I can handle a few goblins. Are you hurt?"

"Oh ho ho, don't worry about my dress, Ameiko; I can head home later and launder it myself. By the way, has Aldern Foxglove came here? Did you know Lanna saved his life earlier?"

More than happy to leave the interrogation of the captured goblin in more experienced, rougher hands, Elenion is pleased by the sudden appearance of Ameiko, if perhaps somewhat surprised by the reminder that the amiable barkeep and the surly warrior are so close. "He seems to have taken a liking to your friend," he informs Ameiko, adding wryly, "They certainly do complement one another."

"As much as I hate to derail this conversation, though, there are a few things that I would at least like to take care of sooner rather than alter. I think that we're all healed here, thanks to Niall. Is there anyone else injured nearby that need aid, or is everything under control now? If not, well, I don't suppose that The Rusty Dragon offers hot baths? I've only just gotten into town myself and I'm still looking for someplace to hang my coat and pack, at least in the short term. Why don't we make sure that everything is settled from the raid, take a moment to clean ourselves off, and then spend some time getting to know each other over a few drinks? The festival seems to have been forced to a rather abrupt end, and that sounds as good a start to our new plans for the evening as any."

Months? Estella wished Urko said that due to the lack of competence in armor cleaning, not the lack of armor cleaning itself entirely. But nevertheless. "Haha, I'm most happy to help." She simply grinned.

"But what are you saying, dear? You were most helpful back there." What Estella said was no lie; considering the seamstress had spent most of the combat either screaming or cleaning her clothes. "I would, of course, gladly trade spells with you. Ooh, spell trading! This is so exciting!" She squealed slightly, before putting her spellbook on the table. "In fact, why don't we trade here? Everyone is staying here and... it might not be safe to walk around yet at this moment."

OoC Well, we have plenty of time before Unca comes back from the surgery, so it probably won't hurt to decide what to trade here. I wager we'll have enough in-game time to do a trade or two too.
