So my local library started a 3D printing program with free credits to spend each month. I ordered this beauty and it showed up today! All credit goes to the actual creator of this 3D artwork on thingverse.

Finished this recently, a character for a story that will probably never pan out.

@Leviticus: Ooh, cool!! What a great way to make minis!
@NightshadeXIII: Nice! I like his design! Is it for a modern fantasy-type setting?

It sure is nice seeing people's creations here! Sorry... I'll confess to lurking...
Here's a little something I drew for the missus last week, and popped some of her jewelry flowers on top. Also, I have to ask if this thread is strictly for "physical" works like drawings and craft? Is it ok to share musical creations too?

Aww, that's lovely! I dunno about the "official rules," but music counts as art as far as I'm concerned!

I bought an inexpensive set of alignment pins/tabs to help with my printmaking. You tape the mylar tabs to your sheets of paper and the plastic pins to the frame you set your linoleum into, and then theoretically every print should line up perfectly layer after layer. I did a test run with a simple little reduction print, and it worked. Every single print came out perfectly aligned!! The ink dried a bit between pulls, but that's not the fault of the pins.

Just one block! I haven't experimented with multi-block printing yet.

I never really thought of myself as an artist, but then I decided to try my hand at drawing my own map for my novel. For someone who doesn't draw enough to be really good, I was pretty pleased, actually. I think my lettering is the major problem area.

@ruffdove - Your map is actually quite good. It reminds me of the Tolkien map from the Hobbit. I think the lettering fits the look and feel as well. Nice job.

Oh wow, that looks awesome!! I agree with 17fromgreatness-- it reminds me of Tolkien and DEFINITELY looks like it belongs at the beginning of a novel!

Thanks guys, I appreciate that! For me the hard thing is being patient and not rushing. Whenever I felt I was getting antsy, I'd put the pencil down and do something else for a bit. It took me a while, but I am happy with it!
And being compared to the Professor... Wow. ![]()
