True honour yes, we have to show our true colours.
I can usually agree with you usually for a, e, o, and u. With i it can be dicey. But probably will use z rather than s. Canadian is an odd mix of American and English.

You guys are already cracking me up
![]() I'm in the US. midwest (Arkansas) atm. I travel quite a bit having lived internationally for 10+years or so in China (中国 Zongguo) and Brasil. My home state is Montana (US) but had over 40 addresses on three continents - so there is no telling how I'll spell something. Just be glad its not in 中文 - which is an amazing language BTW! Woo Ratpigeon, welcome to the Commonwealth club.
Ah, see that is an example of what I was talking about, here it is civilization. For some reason we do the colours, metres, aeons, and ext. But we use the z in civilization, analyze, and such. That is impressively well traveled savoylen. I was born and raised in a town of 1000 people, two hours drive from the nearest major city. I didn't move out until university, to that same city. I've only visited one province other than my own, and its the one next door.

Hey savoylen, So common starting kit, does that include all the starting weapons for the class? So they have outfitted the kids with weapons and armour, right? Like I assume they have given them all the stuff they want them to train with? Answered my own question

Soo the Cleric starting gear is
and the background gives me tool kits I'm proficient with. Can I take a Rapier (or other finessible weapon) instead of the mace/warhammer? I think it's very justifiable that the Overseers would give Theran a weapon he can actually lift, instead of consigning him to trying to drag around a mace. |

It does
![]() In that case, I will swap out the Warhammer (15GP) for a Shortsword and a pair of daggers (14GP total) and the Scale Mail (50GP) for Studded Leather Armour (45GP, and much lighter, even though it has 1 less AC total). Is that okay? |

Sure, sounds like you did the math. Or is that maths? I lost track on the whole spell things line.

I think 'math' is America, maths is everywhere else.

Code H that's because you have so many American's sneaking over your borders to go skiing so often. So they have to zig-zag their way in and down slopes giving you the 'z' instead of 's'.
In UK its plural, maths. I always get confused about when components are used up and noticed others had chosen the chromatic orb spell and though a diamond had to be used up each time, it doesn't. I could just imagine the dragon's crying out in shock as bits of their horde were used for spell. "Nooo not the diamond, anything but the diamond! Use the fire spray thing not the diamond. What about this piece of glass won't that do?"

Poor dragons!
I run a IRL game with a pair of highish level wizards, who have a small castle and stewardship of a small earldom - and they're both too cheap to ever use chromatic orb, even though they have about a dozen suitable jewels each. ![]() |

Singular here, so it is just math.
Funny enough, I've heard that the Canadian accent is almost exactly the same as how the English spoke back in the 1800s when Canada was first settled. After that, the English accent changed by urban drifting. Australia, because it was settled mainly after this occurred, had an accent more similar to the modern English accent. On a similar note, the French spoken in Quebec is more similar to 1700s French, that being when Britain won Quebec and they were cut off from France. Canada is like a little language time capsule.
