I believe the duke owes me a death by massive damage roll.

You're just getting them out of the way now.

Ok, can't find death by massive damage rules in pathfinder. Still taking 10 damage from a 5 pound hammer and just keeping on running like it was nothing is about as realistic as and icecream stand on the surface of the sun.
He would at least have the wind knocked out of him, and probably a few broken ribs. If it were a leg or an arm, those would have been broken instead..... Unless he has over 30 HP or something like there theres no way hes still running. Any hit big enough to even knock off half his health is enough to stop him dead in his tracks. Also, how did he just run 80 feet and manage to pass his guard?

Full-round run action will get you far
I don't know about you, but I've seen people take hits and keep running (maybe not by a hammer, though!) - and the rules can't cover everything. Movement would be interrupted by AoO's all the time then :/ |

So far, Bareris and Carroway have not acted yet in round 2. Moridain (Carroway), if you still have problems seeing the map, let me know. But try and move the scroll bar around. I have much of the map blacked out from players so the active part of the map might not start on your screen.

It was recomended I point out a few things to you guys about this whole situation, instead of trying to recapp I will simply copy paste the convo so you guys can join in.
Moradin So the duke gets away and calls the town guard unless we catch him. Either way this is really bad for the group His word against ours Naturally then you've got the captain.. either way this is going to be bad for us Moradin:Actually when I think about it, anyone in this town with any type of ability of coming to our aid is corrupt and evil, all the power lies in their hands. To Lt's in the guard who may or may not be dependable, guard privates following orders.... no wait, not lt's the :LT's are on the racket as well JustDave (GM):so far, you pc's have done the opposite of what I was expecting, so who knows what will happen . As far as what to do, like a robot in a disney space movie once said, you can't unscramble eggs, but there are alternatives. Moradin:Well, what else could we have done, the duke reveals himself to be evil and killing off the adventurers and allied with goblins.... there is only one thing we could do in that situation What did you expect us to do? JustDave (GM):something more subtle than that.. I think the PCs have been playing well, just out of the box a little forcing me to adjust. But that's good, still an interesting story. all will be revealed in time Moradin:Yeah but it ends with us either fleeing down a tunnel or getting lynched by the town guard when the duke goes and gives his version of the events to the captain.... JustDave (GM):lol Moradin:Or the captain already knows what is going on, and if we do kill the duke he gets us for murder because he knows we had just went there to meet with the duke so he takes control of the town and the dukes manner now that the duke is out of the way and his hands are clean of it. Either way we come out as the bad guys here JustDave (GM):you should post this stuff on the OOC thread, that's good stuff... thinking PCs make for better games Moradin:Moradins already reached these conclusions, that why he said if the duke gets away it will be bad for them |

The Paladin was kind of stuck with attacking them when the others attacked. He refuses to let you kill either though, until he has talked to them.

This is probably [partially] my fault. Coming into the room, given a surprise round when only 2 non-injured people are in sight, I assumed we were to attack the Duke.
Apparently that may or may not have been JD's intention. My apologies. I've never attacked royalty though, unprovoked at that. Kinda fun. Although...

Based on the duke calling the goblins to arms, Moradin is completely convinced of his guilt. The problem is, one he is still unsure of what the duke is guilty of, and two he's not the law enforcement or a judge and has no interest in being so.
But then again, he is chaotic good. So hes not completely against killing an evil duke. Yeah, I was kinda hesitant when you attacked as well, until he called out to arms to arms in the goblin tongue. Last edited by Alexader; Jan 31st, 2013 at 03:27 PM. |
