I've made some additions and changes to Bekkel based on your review.

Khole Rookain Name: Khole Rookain Race: Tengu Age: 18 Initial Class: Expert or Warrior Description and Personality: He looks like a raven with arms for wings and wearing cloths. There is a size difference too, but not much else. He is a Tengu, and they are hard to tell apart, though maybe not that hard at The Academy of Heroes. He has jet black feathers covering his body and sports a double pierced eyebrow on his right side. His eye are honey yellow and his mouth is actually a wicked looking beak. He doesn't wear shoes and where his feet should be when compared to the human model there are skinny black legs ending in black taloned toes. He is wearing a maroon vest and matching short trousers. He has a belt with a couple modest purses hanging from it as well as a sting of polished and faceted silver beads, a brood gift handed down from his grandmother, having it visible advertises his status as a bachelor in his culture. Khole is a loud beak and seemingly irredeemable to those that do not know him. He thinks very highly of himself, his appearance, his ability, his choice of friends and his family, and he will take offense if any of those subjects are broached. He has a decent sense of humor and can take a joke as long as you stay away from his triggers. He is approachable, if you aren't put off by his bragging nature, and if you can put up with him for long enough he might actually take a shine to you. With his brashness he comes across as a decisive leader and a good manipulator, even if it ends in failure people can sometime find themselves motivated by his convictions. This is a fact that he isn't above exploiting of course. Background: WIP RP Sample: WIP

Brutus Longtooth Name: Brutus Longtooth Race: Orc Age: 15 Initial Class: Warrior Description and Personality: Brutus is a tall, solidly built orc. He keeps his hair and beard both in simple styles. His clothing is similarly simple, with little attention paid to style or fashion. He doesn't generally wear any sort of jewelry, but sometimes applies traditional orc warpaints for special occasions. Thanks to somewhat weak eyesight, he wears a set of spectacles when reading or doing other tasks that strain his eyes. “Simple” is an apt description of his personality, as well. While not dumb, per se, neither is he an intellectual by any stretch. He prefers to face challenges head on. He’s friendly enough, but if he doesn't like you, you’ll know it. In situations that call for social delicacy, he’s liable to put his foot in his mouth and generally make things worse. Growing up in an all-orc society, he’s had extremely little experience with other races. As a result, he’s somewhat uncomfortable around them. This, combined with the stubbornly independent streak common to Metspaterian orcs, leaves him slow to trust others. If he does consider someone a friend, however, he’ll defend them to his last breath. Background: Long ago, a lush world was populated by many races. Humans, dwarves, elves, and more lived alongside each other, usually in peace. They were, however, plagued by an ugly menace: the orcs. Orc tribes rejected civilization and constantly raided the other races. Even with superior knowledge and technology, the other races (known by the orcs as “t’alanel”, literally “prey”) weren’t able to defeat the superior numbers and fighting prowess of the orcs. Eventually, the t’alanel races came together and crafted a great work, combining magic and science. Through means the orcs have never understood, they banished every orc man, woman, and child to a distant, uninhabited world. Finally, they knew peace. Things didn’t go as well for the orcs. They called their new home Nortegh, or “Newplace”. Nortegh was a harsh land, populated by all sorts of beasts and monsters and plagued by horrific storms. Once great hunters, the orcs were now the hunted. Many died in the early days. Entire tribes were wiped out. Others found they needed to band together to survive, putting aside old clan and tribe rivalries. They even began to emulate the hated t’alanel peoples, what few spellcasters they had helping establish fortified towns and cities. Slowly but surely, the orcs of Nortegh built their own unique civilization and culture. Centuries have past since those rough beginnings. Nortegh is now a thriving world, spanned by great nations. Most of the population lives within large cities, fortified against the dangerous wildlife. As one might expect from a world of orcs, the world’s initial unity has faltered,and nations and city states war over the harsh land’s scant resources. Brutus Longtooth is from Metspatery, the first city built on Nortegh. The fiercely independent city is very old and has been passed by others in wealth, power, and technology. Most of the buildings are simple, squatly built stone structures surrounded by crude but effective walls. Nonetheless, it’s people are strong and stubborn (even by orc standards) and have resisted countless attacks by more powerful foes. Brutus’s life has been a simple one. He comes from a long line of soldiers, defending Metspatery from its enemies for generations. For most of his life, he’s anticipated little a life defending his home, like so many of his ancestors before him. The recent arrival of a letter from the Academy of Heroes came as a great surprise, and now he’s eager to discover what hidden potential these stranger have seen in him and what his future might hold. RP Sample: Brutus Longtooth Brutus yawned as he walked home. He’d spent the day standing guard at Metspatery’s city gate. A long day. He knew it was important, but standing on a roadside all day wasn’t exactly what he’d always dreamed of. He’d grown up hearing stories of massive battles fought during raging storms, of horrible monsters repelled by brave heroes. So far, his life consisted of watching hunters and farmers walk out of the city in the morning and back in in the evening. Arriving at his small house, he was surprised to find a letter before the front door. He didn’t usually get letters. Who’d write to him? Metspatery was a small city; he didn’t think he even knew anyone more than an hour’s walk away. Stepping inside, he put on his glasses and read the letter. ”Congratulations! You have been selected…” What was this about? Some fancy school somewhere wanted him? Why? He was just an orc, from a world filled with orcs. What made them think he was some kind of hero? On the other hand, who was he to argue? These people, whoever they were, had to know what they were doing. Didn’t they? If they wanted him to go, why shouldn’t he? It’s not as though the city would crumble if he weren’t there. If he didn’t show up for guard duty, they just assign somebody else, assuming they even noticed. The truth was, he was nobody, just a cog in a machine. If somebody thought they could teach him to be more...well, why not? Brutus walked over to a shelf and pulled down a small vial of ink, wiping off the layer of dust on the stopper. He didn’t write much. Irritatingly, the quill that should have been next to it was missing. Scowling, he checked the other shelves. No quill to be found. Cursing, he ripped the stopper off the vial and dipped a long, claw-like fingernail in the ink. Carefully as he could manage, he used the nail to scrawl “yes” on the line, only poking through the paper a few times. Luckily, he didn’t seem to be graded on neatness. Ink magically appeared on the paper, writing out his instructions. Follow the river, he thought, Great. Following the river on Nortegh was a great way to get killed. The creatures that lived in and along it seemed to find orcs delicious. On top of that, a storm was brewing, and here that could be almost as dangerous as the monsters. Still, Brutus wasn’t about to miss his chance because of some rain and beasts. These people said they’d arranged transportation; he was sure they’d know what they were doing. Packing up a few simple possessions, he set out, ready. First he’d visit his family to tell them what had happened, then make a stop at the guard headquarters to tender his resignation. After that, he’d head out the gate and toward a new life.
