Jaegster: If you didn't mind my comments from the last post (concerning the whole cloning issue and how it fits in the universe), you too can start working on a character sheet. Stormhammer: Dude, if you're still kicking around out there somewhere and are still interested, I'd love to have you. So far, we have the following head count: Jaegster Connor bgfnjk Wolesz sageheart I don't have an exact set number in my mind with regards to how many players I want to accept, however I'm guessing that 5-6 players sounds about right. So, if there are lurkers out there and any would-be newcomers, don't be shy!

I'm just giving my game advertisement post another self-promoting bump. So far, I have but 4 confirmed interested players.
Unfortunately Stormhammer is out for personal reasons and I have have yet to hear again from Jaegster. Jaegster, if you see this post or the PM that I will be sending you shortly, please let me know if you still want in this thing. If there are any potentially interested lurkers or fence sitters out there who might want to hop in, speak out now. ![]() Officially, this is who we have: Connor bgfnjk Wolesz sageheart

Same. I made a Fading Suns character sheet, and have been playing around with it some. Once I've completed the mechanics (of which I have some issues... because it's not completely "clean"... but I digress), I'll put the stat block up under my concept.

First Name: Eleazar
Last Name: None Choose a character concept. Mystic priest Physical Description: A tall, thin human, dressed in a thick, long sleeved and hooded priests robe of rust red cloth, robes that bear the look of the Eskatonic priests. He has a bird like aspect, thin and frail with long neck and limbs, his head angled forward on his long neck and a long nose juttiing out under deep close set green eyes and close cropped black hair. He has a disjointed appearance when he moves. When he speaks he often speaks thoughtfully, but with overly structured sentences. One would easily imagine him in a college giving a lecture. For all his odd appearance Eleazar has a strange attraction to him, his eyes shine with a keen intelligence and a force of will, and his words carry a weight. Those astute enough will recognize a powerful intellect and will, and his speech can become quite captivating. History: Personality: Eleazar is a odd priest, a mystic who spends very little time preaching and a lot of time perceiving, he seems almost disdainful of the Church and it's rigidity. He is charismatic and intelligent but not intimidatingly so, perhaps due to the strange twists and turns his intellect follows. He seems physically nonthreatening, and when he does wax philosophical most tune him out as he gets difficult to follow. Weak minds and those that need guidance are easily captivated by his spiel, but he usually is dismissive of those who would seek his tutelage, claiming he is seeking mysteries, not followers. |

Sageheart: As I said earlier, I'm still waiting for the majority of the players to throw the bulk of their characters at me... so, you still got some time to tinker with your character.
Connor: No problem. Just remember to keep all that juicy stuff out of the public eye. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have cooked up.. you have yourself a great character so far. Keep building him up. ![]() Scarabus: Greetings mysterious one... thank you for giving me a small taste of what you can bring to this game. You certainly have a way with the prose (bonus points for that!) ![]() I like your character and I think a priest secretly working for the Imperial Eye is not a bad idea. Quite the contrary, this could bring all kinds of interesting things to the group and the game. Using a clergyman can give the group some much needed respectability when out in public as well. However, please realize that your priest may have to do things that will be considered morally ambiguous at best. True, Eskatonics aren't as rigid in their faith as other sects, but nonetheless even they have their limits. Your character may be at odds with what is asked of him at times. Also, if it is discovered that he is an Imperial Eye agent, he may find himself stripped of his cloth by his own sect. Sure, some more "liberal" priests who need a favor or an extra firebird or two will work for intelligence groups as sources / informants, but to have an actual priest working as an agent is rare indeed. All the same, consider yourself on board my friend! If you need any help or have any questions, by all means let me know.

Posting interest.
I remember, many years ago, having a copy of Fading Suns d20 in my hands while at a friend's house, reading some bits from it and thinking "Wow!" For those that say it looks a bit like WH40k, it true, because Games Workshop "borrowed" some stuff from Fading Suns (along with dozens of other sources), including an entire race. Anyway, anywhere in past, future or fantasy where I can be a loyal servant of an Empire, I'm happy ![]() In the next few days I'll try to track down that book (I don't even remember who was the owner), study the background and only then, if there'll still be a spot open, research a character concept. I think it'll be something inspired to XIX century British Empire but I'll see what will strike my fantasy ![]() |

The Rogue Trader: Greetings and thanks a bunch for your interest in my game!
Yes, they did re-release some of the EFS books with the D20 system. I didn't bother getting any of them because I felt like I already had all the setting information and didn't want to re-buy everything just for the new system. My first touch on the EFS universe came when I purchased the Emperor of the Fading Suns PC game waaay back in the late 90s. It was a 4X strategy game where you took one of the big 5 Houses and fought to become the next Emperor. I really fell in love with that game and was delighted to discover that the game was actually based off a RPG franchise. I then tracked down all the books I could find and started collecting them. I would recommend getting the books because the setting is just that rich and interesting. If you want information on the setting, you can always use that link that I have provided in the initial post of this thread. The EFS wiki provides a nice chunk on the setting information. As of now, I have 5 interested players who are currently working on their characters: Connor bgfnjk Wolesz sageheart Scarabus I'm not against adding a sixth player to the mix, if I feel that your character will be a nice fit for the rest of the group. However, I do think that I will not go beyond the six player mark. You will perhaps be the final addition to the player roster. If you need any help, let me know.

My apologies. I'm a bit exhausted between Finals and my wife leaving for a total of the next 6 out of 8 months for military duties and study abroad. I love the setting, and hope you and everyone ALL my best. But at this moment I don't desire to commit to relearning a whole new system. Especially one as complex (but fun) as this one. Again, sorry. I may enjoy dropping in from time to time to read up on how you're all progressing. Thanks!

Connor: Well, I'm really sorry to hear that. I had the feeling that we would make some beautiful music together.
![]() ![]() Talk to you later! Current interested player pool: bgfnjk Wolesz sageheart Scarabus The Rogue Trader Scarabus: Thanks for the character submission. ![]() As things currently stand, I'm already seeing a viable cover story for this group of characters / Imperial Eye agents. I was intending on having the players start out on a ship on it's way towards Pandemonium. They would try to pass themselves off as simple passengers coming to this Decados world for more mundane work or reasons. However, your Eskatonic character gives me more meat to play around with. The characters could play the roles of scavengers / treasure hunters who are tagging along with your Eskatonic priest on a voyage towards Pandemonium looking for lost 2nd Republic technology. Perhaps they could even play the roles of disciples of sorts, following around your character to promising dig sites on the world. Just an idea. I will wait for player input and the other characters to start piling up before making that decision. Also, don't be afraid to pick out any flaws or merits do further deck out and customize your character. (This goes for all the players really). Any of the flaws / merits from any of the OWOD books can be shoe horned into your character sheet if they make sense with the EFS setting. See the next post full of secret text for more of my input on the particulars of your character...

Announcement for all players:
After looking over Scarabus' character sheet and stats, I'm feeling like I'm not giving players enough points with which to make some fairly balanced characters. The sheet looks a little sparse and the character is feeling a tad underpowered. Adding an extra attribute in each category and more abilities (than in the original system) really eats up most of what I was giving you originally in terms of points to spend on your sheets. I apologize for this and well, this is to be expected when you start fiddling around with a rule system. While the game will not necessarily be a bullet hole riddled, slug fest and combat buffet, characters should at least have a few extra points with each to use to pad their sheets over with some potentially useful skills. Also, it only makes sense that the Imperial Eye would only be interested in recruiting some well rounded and exceptional people. Thus, your characters should have some more 'oompf' to them. Thus, I have made the following changes (I have already edited the original character creation rules post as well to this effect): ABILITIES 18 points (PRIMARY) 14 Points (SECONDARY) 9 Points (TERTIARY) ATTRIBUTES 13 Points (PRIMARY) 10 Points (SECONDARY) 7 Points (TERTIARY)

I don't suppose you'd take a 6th? Little late to the party, but I can pull up an app within the next couple days. From what I'm seeing, my understanding is things like mage powers and such are obtained later in the game? Haven't played much WoD, and what I did we didn't exactly follow the rules, so I'm a little behind on that.
