I'm not sure how we communicate with each other without giving our position away. The yuan-ti are within earshot, so once we start parlay we'll probably be attacked or at least we'll lose surprise and I'm not sure what bargain we can make with a group of humanoid-sacrificing demon worshipers. So I would think it's do or die time.

Just in case, I should mention that the surprise round has become fairly difficult with the yuan-ti's current position. While you can assume that there are patches of dense foliage around that offer heavy obscurement, most of the foliage upon approaching your enemies would be considered light obscurement, which will only really allow you to stealth and gain surprise if you have the Skulker feat.

If the yuan-ti choose to attack you without catching you by surprise in some way, we'll roll for initiative and head into combat as well.

While he isn't speaking up right now, Cha-kra is actually quite uninterested in a parley as well. He won't overrule or debate with Arrogaio though. At least not while he doesn't have a clear shot.

I mean, they didn't send an emissary up the mountain waving a flag of truce when the mountain spirit betrayed our trust. They lay an ambush.

Although the fact that the mountain spirit played both sides is an argument for parlay. We don't want to be puppets in a twisted mountain spirit game.

We are in their turf, so need of them to play fair. In their eyes, we are the baddies.

My proposal: One of us should try to parley first, while the others incl. Duha observe the yuan-ti to avoid being surrounded. We can fight later. After we know what kind of game the mountain spirit is playing with both parties.

I am fully prepared to have the NPCs sort it out amongst themselves. Arrogaio is aiming to insist on taking the job (see GM instructions). Briggs is the actual face of the party.

Just in case you are wondering about the state of the game, but I was not meaning to update before the characters have made their choice IC. If you want to leave the parley to the NPCs, I will require some narrative to establish this.

I posted for Snap Kick. He made his opinion as clear as he could, but i didn't roll Persuasion because I don't think what he did rises to that level. Besides, Rhazor would be better at that.

If Mindsiege wants me to roll anyway, I will.

Hmm, I think for the purposes of what we're trying to determine it fits. After all, it's about making Arrogaio second-guess accepting the invitation for the parley, and Snap Kick's approach has a chance to accomplish that. Feel free to roll Persuasion and let me know once you have added the result to your post.
