The monitor lizard looks at Jules strangely, not quite sure what's happening. It takes half a step forward, still hissing a soft warning. The druid was going to have to think of a new approach, or try again and hope he could get through the animal.

Shrugging, Jules tries his next spell, figuring at the least its a good opprotunity to test it out. "Erm..Hello. Mind if I pass by? If you want I could get someone to look at that for you" Jules gestures towards the wound.

"Youuuuu heelllppeeddd....butttt.....huummaaannn" comes the response. He seems wary, mistreated by men very recently, but he recognises your scent as the one who helped him escape. "It hurtsssss, but youuuuu nooooo touch." The lizard eyes you warily, and shuffles backwards slowly, as he reaches the ladder he hisses very loudly as a warning, before whipping around and quickly clambering up the ladder. You can hear his clawed feet scamper across the deck, and then a splash as he dives into the water, it seems to be clear to leave now.
Poking your head above deck you see the sentry from earlier passed out cold, he's not going to die unfortunately but he's going to be dizzy for a couple of days. Looking around the docks and the ship you can't spot any of the animals, and pray that they have all escaped out into the night. |

Stepping out onto the deck, Jules whistles tunelessly as he walks down off the ship and onto the dock. He stops by some familiar looking crates, the ones he hid behind before assaulting the ship. It takes him a moment before he locates his viper where he left it, and picks the thing up, walking back to his small, ramshackle hut in the district. As he steps off of the pier, he scratches under the viper's chin, using the last few seconds of the spell to whisper "I met a cousin of yours..." and smirking happily, pleased with what he has done for tonight.

Regda hisses happily, and the pair return to their cozy dwelling. The days pass as usual, work at the docks, swim at night, play with Regda. No one knew what a good deed the young Jules had done, or so it seemed. A fortnight after that fateful night, a package was left on Jules' doorstep. Inside there was a small scrap of paper, with only the words "Well done." scrawled on it. Along with this mysterious note is a heavy gold ring, with the symbol of a fish on it, you estimate it's worth about 50gp, but could have some significance to it. However you've also received a weapon of high craftsmanship, a gift from your mysterious watcher.
