[PF-1e] Knick Knacks of Doom

Ok, so you mentioned that this is an amalgamated campaign setting. What setting are the characters primarily based in? A generic Greyhawk continent? Have they ventured across Faerun?

Neither really Stormhammer. If there's something from one of those settings I want to use, I'll just use it, or you for that mayyer. Right now they are leaving King's Reach, the last bastion of official control the unnamed, misc. Kingdom they are in has before the mountains and the wilds beyond.if you call it Greyhawk or Fearun, you're right.

Here is a start of what I have. Still working on the background a bit, but I feel that at this point I should get something posted incase of writer's block/real life. Expect edits and expansions, but I should have it in a finished form before the deadline.

Name: Hubert Thanatos

Race: Human

Class: Cloistered Cleric of Pelor 4 (Sun and Knowledge (from CC) Domains for sure... looking at other sources to see which additional ones it gives to Pelor)

Appearance: Thanatos is not what one would expect when he thinks of a Cleric of Pelor. He doesn't fit the image of the shining warrior by any shot of the imagination. He has no long, golden hair that doesn't block a perfectly sculpted face that compliments a booming voice that spreads the will of Pelor for miles around. He is short and thin, standing 5’ 3’’ and weighing 130 pounds. He also has short black hair and brown eyes, more common in the area that he was born.

Background/Personality: currently WIP, but at time of deadline I accept it as it stands even if it seems like I intended to add more. I will probably also separate the two as I get more solidified, but but now there are hints of both in here

During his life as a cleric, he was never one for training in the way of weapons and showing a perfection of body. Instead, he has attempted to show perfection in the mind and study. Because of this he falters from the common idea by not preferring Pelor's favorite weapon instead favoring a light crossbow having a mace as symbol of devotion and only using it when he has to. However, despite these shortcomings of the public eye, he still rises above others in other aspects. He goes beyond the normal call of duty when it comes to helping others, using his knowledge of lore to have a grander idea of what the right thing is and how to go about helping in a better way.

The Big Question: "No," I tease with my tongue sticking out slightly. After a slight pause, after regaining a bit of composure, "I kid, of course I do. It is a hard balance, but when done properly the role playing that can be achieved is grand. Our characters, like us, are not perfect. They should make mistakes, not having the advantage of a vast internet of knowledge and hours to think of an action." I shift my attention, going to a different window in my browser for a minute, looking for an example to show my point, "They need to experience effects such as DR and SR, not out of context just have a feeling that there is a very small chance for an attack or spell to work, or attempt to pick that difficult lock even the DC is above Taking 20. However, the act of describing those realizations is what makes for a fulfilling post, combat or otherwise."

Introduction The Knick Knacks of Doom world will be hosting a sub game and I'm looking for a few brave fools to test their mettle against the madness of the Ultimate Dungeon. This game will be held in a folder of the Knick Knacks of Doom game, but apart from that it is completely independent of (save to share the same world, calendar, and house rules) the Knick Knacks of Doom campaign game.

The Game Only Unrelenting Fools would dare venture into the Ultimate Dungeon. An anomaly of nature, though the entrance is a ramshackle slate shingle outhouse, inside is an endless series of rooms and caverns and beasts. No one knows who built it, no one knows how the animals and beasts get in or eat, and no one knows if it has an end: but if there is one, the prize for getting there must be beyond imagination. This will be the longest dungeon crawl you've ever embarked upon. If you can make food for yourself and water, you'll never need see the light of day again. Your job is to crawl the dungeon, kill everything that lives inside, level up, and take their stuff. There will be a 'trophy room' with XP and GP bounties on all the monsters in the PFSRD, with genocide bonuses for having cleared out entire types and subtypes such as having killed every form of goblinoid. The encounters you faced will have little to do with the EL of the party, and much to do with the CR of the dungeon, which fluctuates wildly and randomly. There will be floors you cannot survive in, and then you will find floors full of level 1 hobgoblins when you're level 19. It's your job to decide whether or not the floor or room is within the party's capabilities. Punches wont get pulled and retreat is likely a common answer to getting in over your head, or you will die.

What I'm Looking For I haven't decided how many players I want yet, but I want ones that understand this game is rough and tumble and lethal. Depending on your character's willingness to talk to monsters the Combat vs. Roleplay can be anything from 90/10 to 60/40 - it's really up to the play style that the party sets while encountering what they find in the dungeon. Which means I want someone who can both be willing to invest themselves in good roleplay, with the understanding that their character can and probably will die at any second because of the nature of the dungeon.

Applications Characters will all start at level 1 and stats will be rolled, and all of that can be done later. This will be a Pathfinder Game (working on getting the thread tag fixes) and anything in http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ is acceptable, even 3rd party. As long as you can link to it from that source it applies. What I need from you is: Name: If your character doesn't have a last name I'd like to see reason Race: Age: Class: Background: Personality: Skills/Feats: I want to get an idea of the type of chracter you create. Above I'll get a literary idea, but here I'd like to know how you'd (prospectively) assign your feats and skills. Since it's level one it shouldn't take too long as you haven't much to choose from yet. Player Bio: A few sentences about yourself, your history with the game and the site. Just a snapshot that lets me get to know you a bit.
