Hmm, i might just chance it with a more outlandish character concept... I shall secret text it to you at first, in the interests of pleasant surprises, but will unsecret it if you so wish for your existing players to have a say in the selection.

 

Character Tzaphqiel, The Star of Destiny Race: Intelligent Magic Item (Construct) Class: Rules are a little light on intelligent magic items having class levels. As per the core book, they buy their skills, attributes, and features with gold. Happy to be a basic intelligent item if need be, spending the starting gold to define what i can do, but wouldn't mind having a little more to be able to contribute.Oracle of Heavens* Alignment: Lawful Good Summary: Intelligent Enchanted Morningstar on a prophetically inspired quest to vanquish evil and protect the safety of the good creatures of the world. Background: Tzaphkiel was created a few hundred years ago by a monastic Mystic Theurge named Melchior for the Paladin, Boris of Boar's Guard. With Tzaphkiel's guidance, Sir Boris was an exemplary vanquisher of evil and left a lasting legacy that is still sung by some bards to this day. However, as is the nature of humans, sir Boris grew old, and his age slowed him down. He died in battle against a cabal of diabolical summoners, but dealt them enough harm for Tzaphkiel to be able to finish them off under it's own power. The Star lay there in those ruins for many years, until eventually stumbled across by a goblin, who hoped to use his pretty new weapon to raid, but Tzaphkiel's ego prohibited him from doing so. After a long battle of wills, and many long talks, Tzaphkiel brought the goblin away from his cultural ways, and into the service of good, thus beginning the story of Sir Feekil the Unfortunately Named. Feekil died shortly after, but his experience lead the Star into a new habit of redeeming monsters, and leading them on a path to redemption, fighting until they attained a proud death or retirement. This habit lead the Star across the decades and the world, until eventually it ended up in the hands of an Ogrekin working for a recent confederation of Giants.... Personality: Tzaphkiel, Star of Destiny, is a kind, helpful, friendly spirit. It speaks in a voice that seems to be simultaneously male and female, and can make itself sound like one or the other, depending on which its owner reacts to better. It is a crusader in its own way, though not quite as rigid in its code of conduct as a paladin. It is considerate that not everyone has what it takes to walk the path of the Paladin, yet can still serve the cause of good in their own way, so is patient with its owners, but forever committed to guiding them to good deeds. It rarely uses the strength of it's ego to overpower it's user's free will, except when they intend to use the Star for an evil deed. Physical Description: Tzaphkiel is an intelligent enchanted Morningstar, wrought of Meteoric Adamantine and enchanted with such power of positive energy that the dark adamantine bears a golden sheen. The striking head of the morningstar is in fact a sturdy but beautifully intricate Armillary sphere, with a burning magical fire in the centre representing the sun, and slowly orbiting barbs representing the celestial objects which orbit it.

Character Kogan of Ustirbom Race: Dwarf Class: Ranger/Barbarian Alignment: Neutral Summary: Survivor of a ruined dwarf fortress, filled with enmity and vengeful Oaths. Background: Dwarves have a longstanding cultural enmity with giant kind that goes back thousands of years, with every dwarven child raised to know a thing or two about how to protect one's self from them. The story of Kogan's home is an example of why Dwarves maintain this training. Once a grand underground nation of high vaulted ceilings carved out from the stone of the mountain, where craftsmen traded arts and armaments wrought or rare deep metals, it was brought to its downfall after a concentrated attack by the Ice Giants. Kogan was part of the Dwarves' mountain ranger contingent, and was trapped fighting shoulder to shoulder with his brothers as they fell one by one. When the last giant fell, he alone staggered back to their proud city, only to find it in ruins with it's gates collapsed. As far as Kogan is aware he is a lone survivor, and since the fall of Ustirbom he has scraped by living the Nomad's life. He has spent his years training all his will, skill and time into gaining revenge against giant kind. He has slain many since those times, but was eventually captured when he tried to take on a growing confederation of Giant clans... Personality: Kogan tries to uphold a veneer of jolly gruffness, able at times to joke and trashtalk, but spend any real amount of time in his company and one finds a deeply sad and haunted person. He is someone who has lived through a great amount of loss and trauma, and has never quite learned to cope with that, and tends to generally keeps a solitary life.
