Also I’m with you on the witch. I’m probably going to take both wither and illusions, and given your aversion to body horror, I completely understand if you don’t want to go into detail with a side character on wither effects. I hate films like saw which are just torture porn.

Good morning and happy Monday! I'm so glad to see that you have signed up for the game and want to put together a story with us. For now, we're waiting to see if more players want to join us. I don't actually anticipate keeping the announcement open for the entire 2 weeks but it seemed like a minimum standard. We'll get to making characters, detailing the school and the other students and so on when we know more who wants to play and can agree on which skins people want. So far, there's no conflicting requests, which I credit to your willingness to work with others.

At this point, I'm thinking that if we get no other players that we'll move on to the game forum and start the building process on Thursday. That locks in your skin and you can start making your character in earnest. Other players may join after that.

A note about the school. I tried to allude to this in the advertisement (above): this is an independent (private) school with a focus on the arts and creative expression. Each character will have a creative talent. I'll also ask you to tell us something about a student (side character) that shares your talent - and how your character relates to and feels about them. This school does not have any school-sponsored sports. The closest thing is probably dance. If you want your character to engage in sports, then they would join private leagues out in the community or they can join the team of a public high school in the area.

So, just to get this straight in my head, we were probably recommended to this school due to talent in the arts and won't be in the public school system per se? The back ground I have in mind is that he is from a family on the lower end of the socio-economic spectrum so wanted to double check and see if this was more of a rich kids school or if they would have all sorts of students. Whichever way is fine, I just wanted to know for my own planning purposes. Can do it either way.

It seems to me that a promising young student could apply for a scholarship and grants to be able to attend the school. That may be an attempt by the school to not appear to be just for wealthy people. But I can see some people having a snobby attitude about social status based on whether a family can afford the school outright or need help. If that is something that you would be interested in seeing in the game then we'll include it.

As a matter of fact yes. I would be into that. Especially if I get the werewolf skin having another reason to have a chip on his shoulder would be more than welcome.

Having seen the forum, would you prefer we take side characters pics from the selection you’ve provided, or are we free to make our own pics should we wish to?
How is the dress code for the school? I’m toying with the idea of making my guy wear Chinese style clothes, despite being white(he does have a Chinese grandmother on the maternal side), to make him stand out. It also makes him feel a little like a wizard.
I’m also thinking the dark could manifest for him in the form of a cat familiar.

I like the idea of an exclusive school with all the snobbery and elitism involved and it makes for good drama to have students outside of the elite who are there because of their talent or skills.

Skills and talent are the exact opposite of what I'm thinking of for my character, definitely coasting of his Infernal sponsor's wealth and influence.

Time to answer some questions.

Regarding the pictures that I posted to the "Resource Room" of the game forum: I did that just so that they'd be available and maybe inspire somebody. Their use is not mandatory. I will use those images if I make a side character. If you find one appealing for a certain person, then let me know. You are free to come up with your own however.

A cat familiar sounds awesome. I've been wanting to do that for one of my DnD characters, but I don't like playing wizards.

Dress code: This is a school / environment that embraces individual expression. Students may dress how they please, as long as it's decent and appropriate. So, cover up... however you like.

Good. I'm liking the "status" as a theme, where the elites see themselves as clearly superior to the unwashed masses. And an Infernal fits in well - in the sense that to make it in such an environment, a "normal" might need a little help from beyond. The question remains: why do they want to fit in so badly?

Patience. We'll move to the game forum on Thursday. I first want to give other potential players a chance to say if they want in on the fun. But I like the enthusiasm!

Something that amuses me, is that if I managed to hex a side character, HexCursed will have a character that is literally hex cursed.
