Intended Role: Healing, Support
Name: Rohan (Pronounced Ro' In) Wildheart
Race: Firbolg
Class: Druid (Circle of Sheperd Planned)
Epic Path: The Gifted One
Background: Faction Agent (Keeper of the Oldwood)
Description: Rohan is somewhat typical of his kind standing seven feet and seven inches in height with deeply tanned skin and an average build. His hair is a light golden brown and is worn long pulled back behind his ears and down his backside. He typically has branches or leaves even tangled in his hair which add to his more wild appearance. He has a beard but strangely enough seems to keep it short and groomed unlike the rest of his appearance. He has emerald eyes which seem to see past peoples outward appearance and into their very soul.
History: Rohin was born deep in the heart of the Oldwood, prophesized by the village seer. Even from a very young age it was expected that one day he would do great things. As he grew it became obvious he was gifted by the gods, among his elders this was a sign for a brighter future. However among his peers there were many who held his gifts against him, disliking Rohan for the attention he received and the way elders looked to him. Rohan was wise even from a young age beyond the wisdom of his peers, and once he was old enough he made the decision to leave the tribe and find his own way in the Oldwood sequestering himself away, so that he might commune with nature and serve it in turn.

Alone in the Oldwood, Rohan befriended the animals and creatures that dwelled there, aiding them whenever he was able. Perhaps that in itself was the reason for the visitor who arrived one day. Little did Rohan know but the Seer of his tribe had reached out to the Keepers of the Oldwood upon his birth informing them of his birth and over the years updated them. Rohan enjoyed his life in the heart of the forest, and never expected a visitor to knock upon his door. Upon opening it, Rohan saw an elven man dressed in white robes, carrying an oaken staff its crest the shape of a stags head. Having interacted with elves before Rohan welcomed the man in offering him food and drink. As they ate the man identified himself as Galidrael Brightmane, Keeper of the Oldwood. Growing up Rohan had heard of the Keeper's informed about them by the Seer. While they ate Galidrael informed Rohan that the Keepers had been watching him much of his life in secret, and had come to the conclusion that his gifts and his kindness would serve them well.

Galidrael informed Rohan that it had been decided that he was to become one of their order, a protector of the Oldwood and join them at the Circle of the Oldwood. Rohan understood what a great honor it was to even be considered, and looked to the man in awe. Rohan had always been told he was special, gifted even and would one day do great things for all of the realm in Thylea's name. Rohan listened as Galadriel told him of the Order and their purpose, but did not go into too great of a detail. The next morning packing up his meager possessions Rohan returned with Galidrael to the Circle of the Oldwood a place only the Keepers dared enter. He was in awe as he looked around at the monolilthic stones which circled the grove. Over the course of the next ten years Rohan studied under Galidrael tutelage. Rohan had come to truly love his place within the Order and finally was accepted fully into the Order as a member. That night after the initiation Galidrael pulled him aside speaking to him softly. Galidrael informed him that his time within the grove had come to an end, he was meant to leave the grove and seek out the Oracle in Mytros. There he would find his true path, and the purpose for his gifts. The next morning as Rohan prepared to depart Galidrael paid him one final visit presenting him with a similar staff to his own. Bidding him farewell in Thlyea's name.

Taking the staff Rohan looked to his mentor and smiled. Rohan promised to uphold the tenets of the Keepers and to always protect those of the natural world from those who would cause it harm. A final farewell and Rohan set forth on his way to meet with the Oracle leaving behind the only life he had ever known for Mytros.

I do love me some bronze age settings and this one seems fantastic! Heres an application I made up for a "Warforged" Hoplite Fighter.

Application for Calliope Demetria
right-aligned image

Intended Role: Tank, Defender, Bodyguard, Front line fighter

Name: Calliope Demetria

Race: Warforged

Class: Fighter, Hoplite, Defense style.

Epic Path: Doomed One (Demigod, Dragonslayer, or Gifted One alternatives. With only one epic path allowed per player I’m fine with retooling the backstory to match any of these alternatives)

Background: Warrior of Aresia (Same as Warrior of Mytros but from Aresia instead)

Description:

“She stood a full head taller than any other woman on the field. Some of the onlookers commented that she would be better suited to racing against the men. Her size wasn’t her only advantage in the Hoplite race though. While all the other contestants wore their armour, she was the only one there who *was* her Armor. Her bronze skin might at first glance be mistaken for impeccably sculpted muscle Armor, the type favoured by the rich and the powerful. The keen-eyed amount us noticed however that her armor moved with her steady breathing. If this was true though than that meant she was naked save for her masterfully forged helmet and sandals. though this was not uncommon for Aresian nobles.

When the signal was given, she took off with the others, racing around the track at terrific speeds. Her toned muscles flexed gracefully with every stride, evidence of a lifetime of practice and training. She reached the finish a full two seconds before the one in second place made it, to the roaring cheer of the crowds. She took off her helmet and confirmed what we knew to be true, as her face was as gleaming as the rest of her body. But despite bearing a naked body of Bronze, it was the resolve and jubilation in her steely green eyes that caught my attention.”

-Agathon Lasos, Writer, on seeing Calliope Demetria for the first time competing in a local Hoplite race

History:

“She will be beautiful and fair, strong and wise. But on the eve of a great victory, she will be brought low. A close lover will pierce her heart, and she will die.”

This was the prophecy told to Calliopes parents when they took her to an Oracle to see what lay in her future. While it mentioned her ultimate demise, it failed to mention to contagious nature of her destiny. Her father died at war when she was 3. When she was 6 her mother died from sickness. Taken in by her aunt and uncle, they raised her as best she could before they both died as well from a fire that engulfed their home. Now 13 years of age, she was well aware of the fell destiny that awaited her, the words of the oracles prophecy constantly in her mind.

Fixating on the nature of her inevitable death, she enlisted in the Aresian City guard, determined to learn how to fight and to protect herself from anyone who would try to pierce her heart. Knowing of her destiny, the drill masters drove her harder than any other recruit, determined to make her wash out and quit, hoping to spare themselves the same fate that befell her family. But she endured everything they threw at her, and she emerged from two years of training skilled, fast, and stronger than ever.

It was all for naught however, as her first real combat she fought in saw her unit soundly defeated. The doomed newcomer, for all her strength, could not avoid her destiny. She was brought before the city council who determined that the prophecy, along with her history of spreading death to those around her, constituted a risk to the city that they could no longer tolerate. Stripped of her role in the city guard, she was sentenced to be exiled from Aresia. Distraught and depressed, Calliope knew that only the gods could help her now.

Using her training and skills, she lived as a hermit and pilgrim for the next few years, keeping the roads safe from bandits and monsters. She protected merchants and priests from afar, never getting to close to be seen, lest her fate pass to them as well. Word eventually spread of a guardian sentinel, who stood vigil over the roads and protected the traveling faithful. After saving a priest of the gods for the one hundredth time, she decided it was now time to ask for the gods help.

Traveling to a great temple to Volkan, she hid her face as she entered and knelt to the shrine to the forge god, made the signs against evil to ward of Sydon, and began praying. For three days and nights she did not move, hoping that Volkan would hear her and answer her pleas. She prayed for salvation, for acceptance, for protection against her fate. On the fourth day, she received her answer. Volkan had heard her prayers, had seen her fate, and knew of the good deeds she had done. Taking pity on the young woman, he reached out his hand and gently touched her chest. A warm glow began emanating from that spot, and began spreading all across her body. She screamed in pain as the glow reached her face and limbs. The priests watched in wonder as they witnessed a miracle of the Forge God firsthand. Volkan merely watched serenely as the transformation took place, and as soon as it started, it was over.

Catching her breath, Calliope looked over the changes to her body. Her olive skin had darkened and hardened, her flowing hair had set and become rigid. She no longer resembled a human at all, but rather a magnificently sculpted bronze statue. And at her heart, where Volkan had touched her, the spot gleamed as it reflected the light of the many torches around her. Looking up into his benevolent eyes, Volkan spoke to her.

“May this gift of Bronze I have given you help you face your fate. Continue in your deeds and protect the people all of your days.”

With her newfound body of bronze, Calliope threw herself headlong into dangerous situations, always coming out unscathed. The bronze had the additional benefit of covering her face, making her unnoticeable as the doomed child to all but a few. With a new identity and blessing from Volkan himself, she spent the next years of her life serving as a bodyguard, protecting respected, important, or otherwise rich individuals who could afford her services, every penny of her fee going to the temple of the 5 gods.

Now, along with other hero's in the land, she has been summoned by the Oracle, with tales that her ultimate fate can be altered. Not missing a beat, Calliope sets off to be rid of her foul destiny once and for all.

Might be leaning a little heavy into the Achilles vibe there. Still, I'm happy. Any and all feedback is always appreciated!

Melanthios
left-aligned image
Application Status: Finished
Intended Role: Support, nasty surprise, face and entertainer
Name: Melanthios Silverfur
Race: Thylean Satyr
Class: Sorcerer (Divine domain light)
Epic Path: Haunted one (or any other if excluded otherwise)
Background: Outlander

Description: Melanthios is a slightly above average, handsome satyr with the lower body of a goat and the upper body of an elf. A pair of large, goat-like horns, decorated with metal rings, sprout from his foreheads.
In addition to a full head of dark-brown hair, a thick fur of similar color grows on his legs and torso. His face, arms, and torso show the irregular bronze tan of a natural fellow. Apart from his horns and hooves, his bright red eyes are the most impressive and prominent feature - and quite a few women in Thylea have already fallen for those eyes.
Melanthios wears a white, slightly worn chiton, over it a himation with the red embroidery of his tribe and a zoster that holds everything together. On his shoulder he carries a battered, stained leather backpack with a panpipe dangling from it, containing all his few belongings.

Melanthios was always a cheerful and helpful goat man, but since the disappearance of his tribe without a trace, he has become - measured by his satyr nature - a serious and quiet man. For outsiders, this means just tolerable cheerfulness. But often his thoughts wander to his friends and family and the questions, where are they, how are they doing and when will he see them again? Nevertheless, he has faith in the gods and their prophecies and is therefore full of courage and good hope, so that he is not averse to a cup of wine, music, dancing, games and good food in the company of good friends.

History: For many centuries the satyr tribe of the Blackhooves lived in the wild hills and valleys of Oldwoods, deep in the heart of Thylea, led by the bloodline of the Silverfurs. They lived in harmony with nature, loving the wild wine of the sunny slopes, trading with the humans and elves of the area, and playing pranks on the nymphs of the forest.

Melanthios was one of them. Young, wild and always up for a joke. His master Pachilios, an old sorcerer, had a hard time teaching the young satyr the art of magic. One day the tribe rested near an ancient temple and the young satyr curiously explored the ruins in search of lost treasures, interesting artifacts, or even just shiny stones for his collection of shiny stones. In the afternoon, the goat boy was sitting in the shade of a cypress tree, eating dark olives from an overgrown olive grove, when he noticed the ancient statue of a Medussa that seemed to stare abruptly at him. He stepped closer, but when he touched the statue, hot and cold ran through him and pain of hitherto unknown magnitude caused his senses to fade and he sank unconscious to the ground.
When he regained consciousness, it was already late in the evening. Confused and frightened, Melanthios fled to his tribe, but the clearing was empty. No one was to be seen, the makeshift tents were gone, and green grass grew in the place of the campfire. Also his master's familiar, Ruhios, an indestructible land tortoise, remained untraceable.
Even in the nearby village, no one remembered the tribe, which had bought wine and fruit just the day before.
For weeks, Melanthios roamed the wilderness, always looking for his family and friends. But he found nothing. Only an old, blind hermit told him that he would find them only at the end of a long journey.
Since then Melanthios travels through Thylea, always looking for the first clue.

Complete
right-aligned image

Class: Cleric of Mytros
Subclass: Light
Name: Dia
Gender: Female
Background: Hermit
Epic Path: The Gifted One
Role: Healing,Support,Ranged DPS

Backstory
Dia had always been a most beautiful child. so beautiful it is thought she might have royal blood, or even divine blood running through her veins.

The Royal children were red with envy at Dias potent beauty and unnatural complexity. She seemed so gifted to them, but bore no affiliation to royal blood and kept herself humble no matter the cost. Even when bullied and chastised for being poor, Dia would not waver. Her resolve was always so steeled.

Rumours whispered for years that she was a Demi god or some type of divine creation, but her mother denied such accusations as her and dia lived a commoners life. She was however an outcast, socially exiled due to jealousy of the upper echelons spoiled children, and that is where they stayed.

Dia excelled at anything she touched. She was smart and talented. She picked up skills easily and gravitated towards success in almost everything. Though even with all the pure talent in the world, Dia took no profession other than care giver.

Her and her mother lived very secluded lives. They took up residence on the outskirts of town, but still close enough to warrant protection from the army if needed.
Dias mother was sick, and so Dia provided cared for her for most of her life. She Tended to her mother with medicine and towards the end, religion.

When Dia had spare time she used her mother’s blacksmithing tools to hone her frustrations. She became strong and martially adept. She would train for hours in her mother’s old forge work shop, training late into the night.

When her mother passed from natural causes it emplored Dia to finally leave, having no further ties to the city. By that time she had studied and prayed to Mytros. Her light seemed all Dia had left, and so it was guiding.

She dreams of proving her worth and rising as a champion, to gain the respect she’s always wanted and to prove to those who doubt her, that even a commoner can tame destiny

Description: Dia is an unnatural beauty, radiating like a goddess. She is petite, slender and with bodacious features. Her hair is golden like the sun and toight in place with an angelic Tiara. Her eyes are an amber/ hazel off color. She dons a prestige set of golden bronze armor wrapped with white robes. In one hand she clutches a staff and in the other a shield of Mytros

Personality:
Dia is a gentle soul. She is kind, caring, compassionate and fair. She loves most all creatures, and generally ends up being naive to bad intentioned persons, truly hoping for the good in all. In the case though where her patience or good will is abused, she has it in her to become an extremely volatile force of fiery destruction.
Dia is intelligent, keen and forward thinking. Traits not often associated with a beauty of her measure. She stays humble, and does not take advantage of her skills, both natural and divine. She would rather earn her keep than have it given to her due to her good looks or charm.
She is hard working, and would literally go to the ends of the earth for those she loves. Cross her though, and you would be sorry.

OOC
@DM -Are you still taking applications? If you are please consider my application complete.

I have sent out a PM to the selected players...

The first three were easy for me but the last two spots had 5 players I wanted to add.

I really, really thought about adding a sixth but just couldn't do it.

If I need a replacement, the applicants that didn't make it will have first consideration.

I thank you all for the interest in this game.
