That's not even the problem I was talking about. Admittedly I didn't see this particular problem coming but this is a Summoner and we are in his Summoning Circle
You know what all Summoning Circles have? Magic Circle Against [Insert Alignment Here] - just to control Summoned creatures. You know what those Circles also do? Protect against Mind Affecting effects The thing is, your character could have totally recognized that if he looked at the ground and rolled a Spellcraft check - it would have been automatic and completely in character. More than enough reason to stop and focus on alternative actions. But I digress. Oh dear this is going to get messy. I assume we'll have to fight all of them now? New Age Warlock, do you have an easy escape plan to get away from these Elementals? They are....downright nasty in close combat and that's where you don't want to be right?

You don't have to fight them, but it's probably a better idea, seeing as the alternative is fighting Frask then serving (or fighting later) the summoner.
Or you could try to run away of course. Last edited by TheMystic; Jan 27th, 2014 at 01:18 AM. |

I don't think we need to worry about the mind-affecting things bit.
He has said that he didn't summon us, and the circle itself is inert, a prop for whatever summoning he is planning on doing or (given those elementals) was planning on doing. |

No as in it blocks our Mind Affecting effects from working.
Hmmm...not sure how to post...

The magic circles are currently inert.

Trickster yes I know all of these things, someone who has no knowledge of ever switching minds and who has had exactly one instance of semi-combat related activity in which all he did was freak out and mindfry some folk wouldn't really think to check for stuff like that, at least I don't see why he would.

Actually you're right - we'll just have to stick by our guns for now. We're definitely not going to turn you in brother
![]() Magic Circles being inert really help - that way Humility and Frask can still use moth of their abilities (as opposed to only a fraction of their abilities). Hmm I was thinking about tactics and I think I finally figured it out. Here's what we can do: I get to act in the Surprise round due to one of my abilities (but I go last since I have absolutely no idea what's happening). I can raise a Barrier to protect our flank. It'll be 100 ft long and 30 ft. high so it can't do much against the Air Elementals or Earth Elementals. But that's at least cutting down our opponents by half. I'm still thinking how to place it but I'll let you guys know by the time I'm done with my post. The Fire Elementals should be easy - Orpheus has Fire Immunity after all. The Water Elementals shouldn't be too hard. We should all group around Frask's Ifrit. He can at least hold the Elementals at bay while Orpheus and his Cohort tank. Their AC is so ridiculously high that they should be safe (I hope). I'll go Solo and try to distract the Summoner. You guys can probably finish the Elementals and then join me (DR 10/- is a pain but just hit them with vulnerabilities I guess). Don't worry I'll survive ![]()

Thanks.
![]() I am going to switch out true mind switch now that it is apparent that the jig is up and switch to regular mindswitch with a (hopefully misfortuned) summoner with my decerebrate still active since mind leap contingency has five minutes or successful change and if he succeeds that save then just strait up decerebrate him in the next round since his fort save should be lower. Should get rid of the summons. Undine is going to make a water box around me and use it to strike at all the elementals that try to go ham on me. Ifrit is going to go into whirlwind of fiery whip death.

Im not going to lie, I was seriously tempted to have Laura shoot Frask. And if she had more of her memories, she most likely would have.

Debuffing started. -6 on saves assuming that he doesn't have a touch AC better than 24.

Indeed JKTrickster. New Age Warlock, it would be a favour to me if you could add spell DC's to posts where those spells are cast.

Actually shes a Magus with a one-level dip in Spellslinger, props go to Mystic for that one. And yes, the elemental gets a Fort save to reduce the damage...
EDIT: No prob chief.
