Request - Want a DM Mentor for D&D 5e
I'm thinking now to offering this campaign on this site but I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row first. I haven't balanced combat encounters so I'm pretty clueless in this regard - this is one example of the support I'm asking for, but maybe somebody to bounce an idea or two off as well in other aspects would be useful. So my request - I'm looking for a veteran DM who can share some of the tips and tricks for some of the details I need to take care of, in a 1-1 correspondence. |

Feel free to reach out to me with questions. I can't claim to be a veteran DM, but I am a new DM with a lot of technical experience, and a specialty in mechanics.
Send me a message with a few questions, and I'll share my conventional and unconventional combat balancing advice.

Hi, Tordon! Hope you don't mind, but I prefer keeping my correspondence open.
For me, the best way to figure out DM'ing techniques is some consultation, but with a base of practical trial and error. I'd suggest finding someone or a small group willing to run through a short one-shot campaign with you. The Solo Bazaar is a good place for that, or maybe just an ordinary game ad. Be crystal clear in your ad or in your recruitment post of what your goals are, and I'm sure there will be players who will be interested in giving it a go and respectful of the fact that you are trying things out.
