Hey Malchior. Thanks for the invite!
I had a few questions about character creation. I couldn't find a post about the specifics...maybe it's just buried somewhere in the recruitment thread. What kind of starting gold do we get? Standard for level 1? Do we get to choose a trait or two? What resources are permitted. Core Rulebook only, or Advanced Player's Guide, Ultimate Magic, etc? Particular to my wizard: What kind of concentration check will I need to make to cast spells while riding a creature in the sky? I'm wondering if I should take a feat or two to address this issue... What Alex said, thanks for picking me!
Okay, a couple of feat questions: 1. The Spear Dancer feat requires a two-handed weapon with reach (in other words, a spear or other type of polearm). Is this still applicable if using a lance (normally a two-handed weapon but can be wielded one-handed while mounted)? 2. Would you mind waiving or changing the "Lastwall Affinity" (some campaign setting specific thing) requirement for the Indomitable Mount, Mounted Onslaught, and Wheeling Charge feats? 3. I have a non-Pathfinder feat request: the Brutal Throw feat from DnD 3.5, the Complete Adventurer source book. Basically, it allows you to use your Strength modifier instead of Dexterity for attack rolls for thrown weapons.

Starting gold is set at 1,000 gold. This should cover all expenses needed for having two classes.
Two traits. You can use any source, but please run it by me so I can research it before deciding whether or not to approve it. The Spear Dancer feat may be applied to a lance. I have no idea what the Lastwall Affinity is, please inform me. Brutal throw and any other 3.5-Pathfinder convertible feats are available.

Like I said, it's something specific to some campaign I have no idea about, hence if it would be okay to waive that portion of the requirement for the feats. They still have the regular prerequisites you'd expect a feat of their nature to need. All three of them are good "mounted combat" feats.

Yep, it looks like those are feats from the Cities of Golarion supplement. The d20pfsrd has one of them listed.

Actually, I got all three of them from the PFSRD.
EDIT: Also, another question: are we allowed to get barding for our drakes? And yes, I know we can't get anything heavier than light since they're flying mounts. EDIT 2: Also also, what are the carrying capacities for drakes? I'd like to know if barding and my character's half-plate (to say nothing of her own weight as well) is gonna be a problem for my drake to fly around carrying, since I DON'T want his speed hampered at all.

Hey just checking in! Cheers for the invite. I've posted app and link to sheet in the character area. Character sheet is not too far from being finished just need to stat up Echo, my drake and buy gear and choose a couple of traits. I've never really had any aerial combat before. This should be fun!

I've never done arial combat like this, either. I'm wondering what it will be like...lots of melee attacks and grappling, or mostly ranged attacks, etc?

Do drakes use a d8 for HD? And apart from their 1 bonus trick (as per druid's companion) how many tricks do they know?

I would imagine it depends on your combat style. In my case, lots of diving, death from above charges, especially once I get a few more feats. But I can see plenty of room for ranged combat as well.

Lastwall Affinity is a Local feat, therefore it can be scrapped entirely.
You may indeed get barding for your Drakes. Carrying capacity for a drake is Light: 400 lbs, Medium: 401-800 lbs, Heavy: 801-1,200 lbs, Max: 6,000 lbs. Naturally, having more than a heavy load imposes a penalty to flying. Hit Die for Drakes is a d10. They are tougher than animals, but not as strong as their Dragon ancestors. Drakes begin play knowing 1/2 you handle animal ranks skills (rounded down).

When calculating the cost of barding, do you factor in the MW cost before or after applying the x4 multiplier?
And for number of tricks known, is that 1/2 your Handle Animal ranks (which could only ever be one for a first level character) or 1/2 the total Handle Animal modifier?

Hm, can you even afford a masterwork set of barding, given that it's 4x more expensive for a large animal?

That's why I'm asking. Basically, it's the difference between (for example) a MW Studded Leather costing 250g (25g x4 + 150g) or 700g (25g+150g = 175g x4).
