Ranger, summoner, and summon all file into the dark storehouse, out of the view of the others.


Jainus nearly bowls the girl over in his zealous grabbing of her. This young woman matches the description of "Robert"'s daughter, apparent even as she thrashes in the warrior's unbreaking, combat-hardened grip. "Let me go, you brute! They're going to kill Ethan if I don't stop them! Let go!" She tries to punctuate the last command with a forceful push away, but Jainus' grip holds.

Holding the girl's wrist even tighter now that she's mentioned danger, Jainus spins her around to face him. "Where is he, and who's going to kill him?" His mind starts to reel, and he breaks his firm gaze to look out to where some of the group were searching. Somethings up, and it sure isn't happening right here in town...perhaps out in the fields? The warrior tries to pull the girl outside, and give her to Robert whilst gently saying. "Whatever is after him, we'll stop them...you just need to tell us where to go."

Talos walks in just as the word "Kill" is spoken. "Killed...? Who is in danger...? You're not, we've found you..." He says, "Is the young lad in danger...? We'll find him..." Following Jainus and the girl, he awaits news of what is threatening the boy.

[Ehlana]

"Good job." Nyx remarks to Jainus, rubbing an elbow that came into abrupt contact with the doorframe as a result of the boy's headlong rush to the interior. Still, judging from her smile and cheerful tone, she doesn't bear a grudge.

I must remember that I have allies now. And that when it comes to tasks involving physical strength they're probably better at it than I am. I don't have to do everything and it's foolish to try to do something that someone else can and will do better.

"The more time you waste on hysterics and pushing, the less chance we'll be able to help your friend in time." She observes in a friendly manner to the girl. "He won't let you go until you tell us what we need to know to help and surely you realize you won't be able to get free on your own."

At least I hope he won't let her go. I don't think he can be that foolish.

[Prometheus]

"N-no, he said he'd-" She continues to squirm, panicking. Robert's standing there like a bump on a log, and it takes Amanda speaking up to get things moving again.

"It's ok, Drynn, they're already here." She steps inside and places a hand on the girl's shoulder. She stops squirming almost instantly, turning to look, her objection cut off before it can even leave her mouth. "Ethan's in danger no matter what we do now, two of them are already headed in that direction. The best thing we can do now is help them."

Drynn's eyes lower, and she stops struggling against Jainus. "I suppose you're right... A small tribe of goblins has taken Ethan hostage." She explains quietly. "There's no time to go into detail, but they're hiding out in the cellar under the storehouse. Please, go save him..."

Nyx shakes her head a little.

Stupid. You give into people who take hostages and they'll keep demanding more and more and then probably kill the person anyway...possibly after killing others and causing a lot of misery. It might seem like the nice thing to do to give in, but it's not really.

"The best thing would have been to help us anyway." She states cheerfully as she turns away, heading in the direction of the storage shed and sliding her spear off her back.

A harsh screech of a hawk comes up from one side of the town, but unusually continues rather than stopping after one cry.

Jainus' mouth drops open at the mention of goblins, and he lets go of the girls arm immediately. "MOVE!"he yells dramatically at Nyx and the as yet unnamed dwarf, dashing back into the house to gather up his longsword and then out again. As he heads out, Jainus hears the unnatural crying of a hawk...perhaps a warning call from the one with the strange pet? In anycase, he set his sights on the storehouse and takes off running as fast as possible.

"Hold up, Goblins you say...?" Talos's eyes light up at the prospect of a little fighting. "And where did you say they're holding him...? Under the storehouse...?" He looks up to the others around him. "Well, what do you say...? Shall we earn our title as Trailblazers... Though, is saving Ethan from the Goblins still under that 'no bloodshed' rule...?"

[Prometheus]

Those of you who follow the sound of the hawk throw open the main door of the storehouse, flooding the barrel-filled building with a musty gray light, just enough to see Jaden and Hrodvald jump down a trapdoor on the far side, about 50 ft away.

jj_wolven, Cherubaddon You enter, and block off, the cellar, the lack of like punctuated here, everything in front of you little more than vague shapes at the moment. Hushed whispers go back and forth between some of the shadows. "What do we do?" "They're gonna beat us!" "There's only two of them! We can take 'em!" The upstairs fills with light as Jaden's hawk dismisses, and you hear hurried footsteps coming your direction. The voices get more panicked. "Say bahk!" One shouts in heavily-accented Common, "Or we'll gu'him!"
