Yes, it is.

For the record:

Jokes about Squeak = Milestone
Squeak making a joke = millstone

easily confused, but there you have it.

It's even more confusing since we don't interact with either.

(I've never milled anything, and we don't use miles here!)

Dirkoth didn’t grow up with the imperial system either. I believe the units of measurement from his childhood was cubits.

Never milled? Really? Not even pepper?

I thought fresh ground pepper was the new thing again....

I'm not sure we have a good synonym for milestone that won't make us sound weird. I mean, 'breakthrough' makes us sound like we're intelligent; so does 'discovery'. 'Event' or 'occasion' are so boring. I guess 'landmark' sorta means the same thing as milestone, but these days that usually means special places you go to. If you've got suggestions, though...

Marker has too many other connotations to use... and while Occasion and Event are probably the best, I can see that they are vulgar and plebeian.

Perhaps just Celebrations, although that pushes us to the happier side. Some milestones may not be a true celebration, but they are a marker.

Pepper: not really, Happy to have it pre-crushed, but I'm more about the chilli sauce.

I'm more than happy with the term "milestone", as our best equivalent might be "route marker"...

Milestone: Second completed game!

So I posted a while back that I had completed my first game at RPGX, and that was true... but it was a pretty short adventure in a serial adventure series that resumed shortly after with most of the same players and characters.

But today, I finished a somewhat lengthier adventure, which also happened to be my first Call of Cthulhu adventure ever. The game was Sign of Virgo, run by robertod, and it ran from February 24, 2018, to today. Unlike the first one, this is an actual ending for my character and parting of ways for the players and GM. Remarkably the game began and ended with the same three players (also playing were penbeast0 and DemonSlayer), which is a testament to robertod's story and writing, and perhaps also to the dedication of those who play less common game systems. I am not a true Lovecraft fanatic, but this game was a variation on the Deep Ones story.

I probably won't play CoC again any time soon (actually I'm over committed as it is anyway), but it was a most excellent change of pace and I'm encouraged to try another new system once a couple of my other games wrap up or peter out. Most likely it will be Shadowrun.

Anyway, sorry to ramble. I just feel like completed games are a cause for some celebration.

Congrats ruff! Definitely worth mentioning.

The only game I completed lasted a month or two and ended with a party wipe

Congrats, ruffdove! Completed games are definitely a milestone worth mentioning! (I wish we had a better way of celebrating them, too, but it'd be hard to tackle.)
