Ash As he crouched in the mud, Ash looked over at Bran, fidgeting with the axe in his hands. Reaching out, his large calloused hand closed around the gnomes smaller one, holding it still and tightening it gently but firmly on the handle of the Axe, giving the young man an encouraging smile "breathe youngling, its exactly like chopping wood, nothing more" Ash's grin became more feral and savage as he returned his attention to the hound, feeling the beast within him growing, ready to hurl himself at the infernal creature, screaming at him to strike now and not wait for the lizard to cast his blessings and spells. Ignore the others, they are weak. strike now and show them how strong we are. you can feel it cant you, the magic in the bands, use it..become stronger and kill the hound, taste its flesh! Since slipping the Silver bands on moments ago, Ash could feel the heat pulsing against his skin, feel the strength trying to slip into his body, it was hypnotic, enticing, so much power waiting to be used, so seductive, he would be a fool not to use it now against such a dangerous creature, Seeing Gavin preparing his spells he knew now was the time. All it took was an accepting thought and he felt the power flowing into his veins, his blood felt like it was burning as he snarled louder, his muscles already straining at his torn tattered shirt from his shifter transformation growing even bigger still, hardening and thickening, his already impressive height increasing as he crouched beside the others, eyes shifting to animalistic slits and turning golden, ready to strike, his body almost shaking like a prize stallion at the start of a race, barely held in check by the rider as it waited at the start of a race, its entire nature to run being held back, coiled ready to spring into action.

Fighting a Hellhound and some Rats Ash comes rushing in with his fury stoked high. Even as he does an image appears a bit out of the way and off to the side. The four rats in the area scurry towards it looking for a fight but the red skinned hound seems to simply ignore it. The dark red eyes turning left and right clearly looking for the real threat and then Ash slams into it and the fight begins in earnest.

 

- Rats 1-4 are currently delayed attacking the illusion. So this round they will not get an attack on anyone and I'll check to see if they are still fooled next round.

- The hound realized that the illusion was exactly that and was waiting for the actual attack so it will go after everyone gets a chance to take an attack.

- PC's are up first come first served

Ash As Gavin and Bran begins their casting, the wait becomes too much for Ash and the beast within, with a loud snarling roar he springs from cover and charges the hound, his eyes blazing with rage, Axe trailing behind him, sharp teeth bared at the infernal creature. He sees the illusion forming off to the side, catching it in his peripheral vision but he doesn't get a chance to make out exactly what forms Bran has conjured as his focus narrows and tunnel vision sets in. Barrelling towards the Hound Using Reckless attack this round, Advantage on Strength based attacks but opponents also get advantage against him this roundrecklessly, arms wide as he draws closer, bringing the heavy steel head of his axe around and over his head in a mighty swing, aimed for the hounds head and neck as it turns its red devilish eyes on the rapidly approaching man that now only bares the most superficial resemblance of the villager, his eyes wild with anger and madness as the normally rational man leaves himself open to attack in his effort to strike down the Hound quickly and savagely

Bran Gelbman Once the foul rats began their charge Bran’s illusion began to play out a scene for all to see. ’Dame Kreia’ was the first to react and the giantess of a woman clad in full plate armour slowly drew out a blood red sword that gave off a dull ominous light. Holding the sword in a two handed grip the veteran warrior pointed the tip of the blade towards the ground as she seemed to prepare to skewer the rats. The two faceless knights meanwhile stepped up and took up positions either side of the woman protecting her flanks as they too held up their weapons though their weapons almost seemed to glow with a golden light. Behind the front rank of fighters the burly form of ’Ardin Smith’ clad in sturdy chain armour could be seen patting a solid hammer in his hands. To his side the grizzled looking ’Wilbert’ blew out a cloud of smoke while clenching a cigar between his teeth and pulling out a much more plainer looking sword to join the strange blunt implement that he was carrying. On the other side the eye catching form of the centaur could be seen with crossbow in hand as he carefully loaded a bolt in to place. In the rear rank ’Kaeleigh’ calmly drew an arrow from her quiver and knocked it on her bow as she carefully lined up a shot and pulled back the string of the bow. On either side of the elf the hooded ’Stenly’ and a dishevelled looking ’Neville’ seemed to start to cast. Perhaps in response to these last two actions a cloud of mist began to rise up around the group surrounding them and making them hard to pick out though they could be seen moving from spot to spot as they moved about to avoid any snapping jaws. Bran meanwhile took a deep breath to steady his nerves as he held out a hand. In response the lid of his chest popped open and a simple sling floated out of it and in to the young gnome’s hand. ’If fire will not hurt it this will have to suffice…’ Bran thought to himself as he began to whirl the sling around before launching a bullet out of it that he hurled in the hellhounds direction.

Ria Siannodel As Ash charges the Hound, Ria aims carefully at it and then shoots the arrow with a necromancy Rune carved on it towards it. Her mouth is dry as she drops the bow, and draws her sword. She moves forward ready to assist Ash or fight one of the Abomination-Rats.

Gavin finishes casting his protection spell on Bran as his small friend puts of his own illusion. Gavin is familiar with what Bran can do with his magic, but even so, he is impressed with the illusion he creates. The detail is amazing, from Dame Kreia in her armor to Wilbert chomping his his ever present cigar. He thought the mist was a nice touch as well. Maybe it would make it harder for the rats to figure out they were fighting people who weren't there.

Through all of that, Ash transformed into some sort of bestial creature and flung himself headlong into battle. Gavin is annoyed at first that Ash didn't wait for the ranged attacks to be used before running in, but with one look at his face after the transformation, Gavin can tell that patience is difficult, if not impossible, for the woodcutter. He will have to take that into account with any future plans. With that thought, Gavin realizes that, even though he has lived in the same village with these people al his life, he barely knows them. That is going to have to change. They will have to learn how to work together effectively if they want to protect their friends and families. That is a problem for later, though. For now, he nocks the magic arrow he got from Bran, pulls the bowstring tight. He sights down the arrow, hoping to his the hound ant not Ash. When he feels he has a shot, he fires the arrow. before it has a chance to find its mark or not, Gavin drops the bow, slides his arm through the strap on his shield, draws his morning star, and steps forward and off to the side. He wants to be in position to reach the hound if it still lives, but he remembers what Bran said about how it attacks. He hopes to be far enough to the side that he will not be engulfed in flames, if it shoots them from its mouth.

Rats and Hound Ash slams his axe into the hide of the hellish beast getting a high pitched yip in return. Bran follows up with a well spun sling stone that hits the beast in the eye and Autumn sends an arrow directly into its chest puncturing a lung. Behind that arrow comes Ria's own shot and the necromantic arrow hits right in the other eye the necromantic power drawing out life blood and brain bits. The hound gives off a final howl as its life ends. Meanwhile the four rat creatures all attack Bran's illusions each of them finding no purchase on flesh or bone and becoming frustrated. The rat creatures chitter and scream as they put more effort into attacking the illusions, at least for now.

Ria Siannodel Ria aims carefully at one of the Abomination-Rats then holds up her sword . She concentrates and a ball of fire appears in front of her. She flips the blade and the ball changes shape to become more arrow-like before shooting off towards her foe. The bolt misses, but she takes the time to swing her shield into position in front of her as she moves towards the Rat.

Ash - 2/20 Ash snarls and roars loudly at the fallen Hound, planting a foot on its neck and ripping his axe free of its hide in a spray of blood, teeth bared at the creature, the beast in his mind shouting Weak, pathetic creature, that was no hunt, As his golden hued eyes scan the surroundings he see's more targets for his Blade and Fangs, Elves, the Lizard, the small gnome, and the Wolver-rats chittering and screeching at the illusions in the mist Yes! Gavin grunts in frustration when his arrow misses its mark, but he is gratified when everyone else manages to hit the hellhound and it falls beneath their hail of blows. Without missing a beat, Ash charges into the rats and Ria sends a bolt of fire towards them. With the rats being attacked directly, Gavin is sure they will no longer pay attention to Bran's illusions, but the magic worked well already. The illusory beings allowed them to kill the evil hound before it could attack.

Gavin drops his bow, slides his arm into his shield, and draws his morning star. He steps out and takes a position next to Ria, on her right, where he can cover her with his shield. He feels the tingle of energy start in his belly and rise into his chest, growing in power. Facing the rats, he sends a bolt of lightning streaking across the clearing, trying to hit more than one with the blast.

Bran Gelbman Bran sighed in relief when the hell hound was swiftly brought down, it had certainly seemed to have been the biggest threat present. Hopefully nothing else had come through the portal to hell… With the the others directly engaging the Abomination rats it was unlikely the gnome’s illusions would keep them distracted much longer but Bran kept up the facade none the less making sure that each rat was atleast being harassed by one illusionary opponent so there was atleast a chance the rat would choose the wrong target. Slowly Bran began to edge towards the portal hoping to get a better look at it, at the same time Bran directed his unseen servant to approach it. As he did so Bran almost absent mindedly summoned flame to his hands and hurled it in the direction of one of the rats.

Rats and the Window Ash beheads one of the rats and the other three turn towards him now, anger overpowering any sense of survival. Autumn and Ria miss with their own attacks but the dragonborn hits two of them with his electric breath. They shudder from the lighting but are still able to take their anger out on Ash. Bran's firebolt misses the rats, perhaps because he can almost feel the pain as his unseen servant is ripped apart into tiny pieces and the magic drawn into the strange window. He looks into it carefully and at a distance after that.
