Elijah feels elated that the people have been rescued by another party. After all, he feels that if they are still around when Mr. Tall arrives, they would just resume their position as blood herd and that would weigh heavily on his conscience.

When Mr. Blackstone asks him to walk with him toward the balcony, he complies at once. After all, Tamara is still here and he couldn't possibly say no at this moment. But of course, he could see worry on Elijah's face and for a moment he is quite touched that Mr. Blackstone tries to alleviate his worry.

Elijah feels that this man has a large ego. However, next part of conversation is really put some shiver in his spine. He realizes that whoever Mr. Blackstone is, he is a supernatural too. And possibly, a vampire. An ancient vampire that seems present on the day Boston was built. Which means that he has lived for more than four centuries.

Elijah ponders a moment. Their payment is nice. And if he could get away with helping people that needed, that is quite good bonus. After all, given the situation, if he says no, then perhaps they would quickly arrange an accident for him. And that is not good at all. And second one, he is a Private Investigator after all, and a client is a client. Retainer or not. Maybe by working with them, he could also contact his own people that might bring difference to him. Or the hunter powerful enough to take his kingdom.

So Elijah says : "I am honored to do so."

He tries the soft approach for now. Something to stroke his ego. By showing cooperation, Elijah thinks that they wouldn't turn on him that fast. And if he asks some money up front, they might be a generous one. So as long as the payment is good and there is no problem with the mission, Elijah would work for them. Temporary.

So he is quite eager to know what is his next mission would be.
