Lili When Kirra and Lili first met, the barmaid was playing the violin softly for the few patrons that were at the bar. Lili began first humming to the tune which quickly turned to singing. After that the two became fast friends. Often spending an entire evening preforming duets even if there was no one listening or even in the tavern. Kirra always greats Lili with a smile and a warm meal.

Wyl Although they do not speak of the one time that Wyl had just a little to much to drink, Kirra holds him in high respect. The druid has on more than one occasion done some repairs around the tavern. He does good work and is always welcome inside for a warm meal to warm his bones. Kirra is used to being flirted with (it comes with the job) she has found that a quick dip in the snow snaps most out of it. She is never shy asking him when she or someone she knows could use a helping hand.

Aeona Having never left Cilsie, Kirra looks at Aeona with wonder and jealousy with all that he has seen in her travels, not to mention how close she is with animals. When the gnome first arrived, Kirra was the first to welcome her thinking that she was a lost child. When she learned that she was in fact a gnome, she could not help but feel protective of the wizard. Whenever Aeona was in the tavern, Kirra would keep a watchful eye on her and make sure no one was making her uncomfortable.

Rana Kirra's family had always had a close relationship with Rana's. They would trade for food, and on occasion buy one of their dogs. Kirra enjoys being around the dogs and is always happy when ever they come to visit the tavern. Rana has supplied the tavern with food for many years and the two have become friends, even if it is only as business partners.

Okay, I've finished Rana's sheet. I had originally planned to specialize in ranged combat, but I think that may be redundant with Wyl and we lack a strong tank, so I'm trying for a hybrid tank/battlefield control build instead. I've always wanted to play a whip fighter anyway, and it seems appropriate for a dogsled musher.

Everyone's posts are amazing! Really appreciate everyone's efforts. Kirra is great @Cheshire, don't you worry at all!

The thoughts presented to the council so far are really interesting... look forward to summing it up and seeing where it all leads

I'll post this here as general info as I failed to kind of provide the details before.

In terms of resources, Cilsie's main problematic consumables are food and timber. It is hard to assess how much individual households have on-hand at any one time, or is traded or sold between villagers, and only Kirra really knows what is stored as a backup at the Refuge. Right now there is probably no "immediate" threat of starvation or lack of fuel. BUT! It might not take much to change that scenario. There are factors like how long the damn blizzard lasts, as well as decisions our PCs and some NPCs make which will effect things along the way. The PCs who are worried about resources should feel justified in their assessment that it is better to stock up now, rather than just wait and see.

The suggestions / ideas thus far at the council meeting are rather excellent. This is supposed to be a tricky tradeoff between keeping people in good spirits, and also being more realistic about what the future might hold. The PC decisions and actions along the way will at every step be effecting future outcomes.

I look forward to seeing what Aeona's thoughts are!

After that the council will have to come to some sort of agreement/compromise, or possibly a vote. Thus far it looks like:

Kirra's ideas: 1 free drink and meal per night. Potentially give drink to temple-builders too.

Wyl's ideas: Convert section of Refuge to temple or other publicly beneficial purpose.

Lili's ideas: Form roster to greaten efforts in hunting and wood gathering, and if this works offer the free evening sustenance.

Rana's ideas: Create teams to greaten efforts in hunting and wood gathering and deal with supply at a community level.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out!

Aeona's ideas: Free evening entertainment (not including drinks), and co-ordinated trips to bolster resources.

Okay folks, now the fun part! Coming to a compromise. We don't have to go through it all via IC dialogue if you don't want, so if you wanted to come to an OOC agreement on what you want, I can find a way to get that into a post for you.

It seems like it might be (and I could be wrong lol):
  • Groups of locals will be scheduled by the council to increase efforts improving food and timber levels.
  • There will be free entertainment at the Refuge each night to celebrate. This may or may not include a free drink... that's up to you... though it's probably Kirra's choice to make, as it effects her more than anyone else.
  • If the timber supplies become very well stocked, then a temple addon to the Refuge might be attempted. The design work etc can be done during downtime just in case.

Does that sound ok?

Based on the food supplies we have, I think we can hunt every other day.(we have enough to last the season, but a little more couldn’t hurt)So go out day one, if we get something, then take day two off. If we don’t get something day one, go out day two and take day three off. If that makes sense.

Stock the timber at the Refuge as a central location so people can get their free food and ONE free drink then they can grab some wood if they need it. We can either keep it inside or near the entrance of the building.

That is my thoughts on it anyway. I am open to ideas.

Excellent! Love that the free drink is still in there

I went ahead and posted in the end, deciding to test the overall plan IC. You folks aren't expected to micro-manage the finer details of whatever gets approved either. It might effect day to day activities and downtime stuff for you, but there will be bigger fish to fry along the way. Oh, there's one already lol.
