How much do our characters know about ice trolls? For example, do we know that fire might be useful here?

Rana also has the Sharpshooter feat, so her ranged attacks ignore cover bonuses. Is the tiny amount of troll we can see above the walls enough to shoot at, or is it less than that?

I can tell you Kirra does not know much about trolls. Only stories from travelers

Hi! I’ll leave how much you might know up to you. Rana and Wyl might have seen them outside the village when going longer distances to forage and hunt perhaps. With that Sharpshooter feat, I’ll let you attack it! There is just enough noggin visible over the wall to potentially hit it (only because of that feat though hehe).

@Amarga Would Martim spend any time in the Inn? I am trying to think of how Kirra may know him, or not know him.

Also is Ath still around?

He probably wouldn't have spent long in the inn. He's pretty withdrawn and tends to spend his time patrolling and wandering about the local landscape

I don't want to speak out of turn, but I'll feel guilty if I don't: RAW, critical hits don't double flat damage bonuses, only dice, so the +10 from Sharpshooter shouldn't be doubled on the critical hit.

You're the DM, though, and you can adjudicate it however you like!

This is how I think I calculated it lol, let me know if any issues

Rana 20 damage dealt, plus another 1 from the crit = 21
Kirra damage dealt = 9
Martim damage dealt = 9
Crossbow lady damage dealt = 8

Haha no confusion! Just wanted to check I hadn't made a mistake... which is fairly common

As a quick addendum, Martim's fighting style allows him to reduce damage to a nearby companion as a reaction, so Kirra should take 3 less damage this time around
