Swagz the Bard
right-aligned image

Sitting upon a large, fallen tree-trunk that had been converted into a makeshift bench outside of Metalfang's hut, Swagz watched as Morbid rejoined them, carrying several pieces of oversized sticks. "Firewood, eh, 'Bid?" he said as Morbid put down all but one of the sticks. "Can'cha just burn 'em with yer flaming shooty thing?"

He perked up then when Iggy shushed them all. Intrigued, the young bard clambered down from the makeshift bench, and tiptoed toward an unattended window. Like his siblings, he pressed his ear against the wall,

attempting to catch whatever sounds the others were trying to hear, his large, auburn afro gathering on the opposite side of his face as he pressed his ear harder against the wall.

How silly we must all look, he thought, amused.

ZorbZorb was going to speak further, but he was shushed as all his siblings leaned towards sounds coming from the hut. Zorb considered also listening in, but that was not a servants place. Still Zorb stayed quiet and let his siblings do as they pleased. He shifted slightly so he could

watch the hut entrance as well as the surroundings. Ready to alert his dumdum family if anyone who might make trouble appeared. It isn’t betraying the demons to be attentive and serve, but the way his family was listening as naughty children at their bedroom door, Zorb was not convinced they were being attentive in order to serve better.

This raid will show them that it is better to follow orders than to go about willy nilly. Just as long as they don’t get me in trouble.

When Zorb spotted potential movement in the hut, or was it that goblin looking off? Regardless after a time it bothered Zorb too much and in a whispered command said, “Stop dat you fools, you’ll get us in truble!”

Zorb stays quiet keeping a watch, until he sees something worrying or after a couple minutes he will think he saw something and say his line anyway.

With the ears pressed against the side of the hut the mumbling stops, with six loud stomps MetalFang then burst through the door to his hut "Snot balls let's kill some Half-men" MetalFang then starts to march to an area north of BigDeaths hut, a small clearing in the forest use as a staging area for raids.

Iggy, Female Forest-Goblin Druid
left-aligned image

Actually feeling the bugbear's footsteps before she heard them, Iggy sprang from her position by the wall. "Gets back, ye dumdums!" she hissed at Morbid and Swagz, yanking both of her brothers back. "'Fang's coming."

With the bugbear master not paying them any real mind, the young druid let out a sigh. "Well, we gots outta that one alright, I guess," she whispered to her brothers. "Better gets in line, boys. Don't want 'em shiny fangs on our butts, now do we?" With that, she followed Metalfang to the staging area in her gangly gait.

Ties Knots, Male Forest-Goblin Rogue
right-aligned image

Calmly shaking the hair loose from behind his ear, Ties does his best to look surprised when Metalfang burst out of his hut. Contemplating something, he wakes with a start when his sister rallies the Raggles. The quick-footed Goblin caught up to the others easily. His gaze appeared to be fixed on a point not far off in the distance, still lost in thought.

Swagz the Bard
right-aligned image

"Ack!" Swagz managed a quick yelp as Iggy yanked on his afro. He had been so keen on listening in on the conversation inside - although he hadn't heard anything despite his great focus on the task - that his sister's actions took him completely by surprise. "'Ey! Wha's all tha -" The young bard managed to catch the words in his mouth though when Metalfang swept right out of his hut and toward the clearing north of Bigdeath's hut.

Following Iggy's lead about falling in line, Swagz rushed to the front of the Raggles, and began putting his drums to good use, beating a war-like rhythm that he figured would fit the strength of the bugbears and stir the hearts of the goblins.

"To arms! To arms!
Kill 'em half-men! Spill their blood!
For Metalfang an' Bigdeath!
Kill 'em half-men! Spill their blood!
Tonight on half-men meats we dine!"

To keep up with MetalFang you'd have to do a half jog, he takes off with long striding stomps. Passed Mumz place a voice of the elder goblin heckles the bugbear "Don't you let Swagz die or his debt will fall on you." MetalFang stops and glares at the old gobbo then a throaty laughter erupts from his throat. He turns left through a few of the gobbo huts and houses almost reacing out of Goblinton. After a few minutes the loud chatter of other gobbos becomes clear and a small clearing opens up. BigDeath is already there with over a dozen goblins, the four Blue Hoods easy to make out for their blue hoods poke up above the heads of the other goblins.
"Where you been MetalFang."
"Bloody Raggles held me up." With that he swipes out is hand catching Zorb off guard. The largest Raggle is knocked to his backside.
"We go now!" BigDeath roars. The warriors of Goblinton echo his battle cry.

Zorb take 1 point of bludgeoning damage.

I'll just leave you a small window to react if you wish then will push forward in a couple of days. Hope your holidays are going well

MorbidWhile feeling excited about the prospect of their first big raid Morbid also was quite distrustful about their bugbear masters. He knew that they most likely will use goblins as cannon fodder and silently decided for himself to try to stay close to Metalfang. He figured that his chances for survival will be much better near him. Maybe If Metalfang or even BigDeath will be hurt, then my magic can "accidentally" kill on of the bugbears. I mean all kind of nasty things probably happening in the chaos of fight... He had a plan, but wasn't sure if it is going to work out.

Nevertheless, he putted his best happy-to-die for you face and and joined the battle cries of other goblins

Iggy, Female Forest-Goblin Druid
left-aligned image

Without her realizing it, Iggy was swept by Swagz's rhythm. The young, coppery-haired goblin was skipping and humming along to her brother's beat as they followed MetalFang to the gathering area. She was brought back to her senses when she heard Old Mumz's shrill voice calling out to the bugbear. Turning to Swagz, she asked, "What debt that be, eh?"

Needing to keep up with their bugbear boss, Iggy hadn't much time to stay and chat, and was soon on the move again. When they got to the gathering area, there already was BigDeath with his own group of gobbos, and the easily recognizable Blue Hoods. Hmm, we needs something likes that, Iggy thought, taking mental notes. Makes us very easy to recognize and remember. Very good for attracting other gobbos.

For the most part, she paid no heed to Zorb being smacked. Her burly brother always had been standing too closely to the brutish bugbears, and the bugbears can be clumsy - him getting smacked was bound to happen sooner or later. Absentmindedly, she reached down to help Zorb back to his feet, all the while thinking of ideas to match the Blue Hoods' distinctive hoods.

Ties saw the jubilation in his sister's step, and had to admit that Swagz's beat was a catchy thing he easily fell into as well. He had even began chanting along, though he didn't know the words and found he was skipping some in between. The result was far less than uplifting, so it was good that he was a great deal quieter than his brother.

"To arms! To arms!
Kill 'em! ... blood!
For ... Bigdeath!
Kill 'em! ... blood!
Tonight ... we dine!"

Ties visibly bristled at hearing MetalFang blame the Raggles for his tardiness, mumbling something under his breath so soft he was sure the Bugbear wouldn't hear. To add insult to injury he slammed Zorb to the ground with a surprise attack.

In an instant Ties was reminded of the situation the Raggles were in and how long it would take to make his dreams come true. MetalFang at once publicly shamed the Raggles and humiliated the largest of them. Ties figured that in the Bugbear's eyes that was enough to properly cow the Goblins into accepting their submissive role. Eventually MetalFang would find that he was dead wrong.
For the curious

Swagz the Bard
right-aligned image

So intent was he on his drumming and so close were the beats of the drum that, for the second time that day, Swagz completely missed Mumz's reference to his 'debt', the old goblin's voice all but drowned out by the drums, at least to the young bard's ears. It was a complete mystery to him then when his sister asked him about a debt.

"Wha'?" he shouted over the noise of his drums. Realizing that it was futile to carry on a conversation while continuing drumming, he stopped beating on his drums. "What debt ye's talking 'bout?"

But then the Raggles were swept once more into the march toward the staging area, and there they joined BigDeath's group. The young bard felt a buckling come to his knees when he witnessed the display of bugbear strength, with Metalfang casually slapping Zorb, who was much stronger than the skinny bard. Best not get on their bad side - well, at least not yet.

ZorbZorb breathed a sigh of relief when Metalfang didnít notice his spying siblings. Along with the others he fell in behind Metalfang as they headed for the preparation area in front of Bigdeathís tent. Swagzís beat and lyrics fit well with the hateful fire that Khurgorbaeyag had lit within Zorbís chest. Zorb marched eagerly, hungering for the spilling of blood to begin. He flanked Metalfang as he had seen Bigdeath's guards do, practicing for his role as elite guard of the demons. Being so close he had little time to react to Metalfangís blow.

"Bloody Raggles held me up."

Zorbís head swam and bugbears words oozed through the haze. His vision cleared and Zorb tried to make sense of the punishment.
Did we hold him up? We went immediately The master could not be wrong though, only the servant too slow to know how he erred. I must have walked too slow!

ďS'rry to slow you master,Ē
Zorb apologized to Metalfang as he stood. And when Bigdeath called for the move out, Zorb cheered as loud as he could, and led the Raggles in following the demons out of town. While it was a slaves place to take the punishment earned, he was not eager to feel Metalfangs fist again any time soon.

Narrative
Bigdeath seemed satisfied with the blame and the punishment as he and his goblin servants turned and began marching towards the edge of the forest. The Blue Hoods smirked at Zorb on the ground and moved off talking amongst themselves. Metalfang pushed forward lengthening his stride so to catch BigDeath. For hours the gobbos and their leaders marched. Their was time for joking and time to plotting, time for dreaming and time for bragging, all of which were occomplished by the gobbos on their journey.

OODMHappy New Year!

Sorry for the short post. I have more detail and a map on my work computer and not back into the office until the 4th.

NarrativeThe army of Goblinoids marched from the staging area over the hill to the Nor-West of Goblinton and down the other side until you came to a creek. BigDeath kept everyone on the Goblinton side of the creek which met other creeks and grew into a small river. Pushing forward for hours following the river. The tree cover thinned and an old stone bridge came into view.
“MetalFang set your ambush. The rest of you, follow me.
BigDeath marched over the bridge followed by his goblins and climbed up the cliff to set his attack.
Once BigDeath was gone MetalFang looked at you all and simply said “We stop Halfmen on bridge.”

OOCUp to you as to how you set up the Ambush.
Please give me a map location so I can place you on the map and let me know what you’d like to do.

Iggy, Female Forest-Goblin Druid
left-aligned image

Sighing in disappointment over MetalFang's incredible leadership, Iggy motioned to her brothers, having given up on being able to sway the other goblins. "BigDeath attacks from hill," she said, pointing to the large form of the bugbear disappearing into the trees. "That makes half-men run to us here, to bridge. We needs to keep them here, on bridge, so 'Death and 'Fang can do their attacks. I plans to call vines to trap their feets here, our side of bridge. That makes them stay on bridge, makes them easier to kill."

She more closely regarded her brothers. "Morbid, Ties, and Swagz can shoots from far, so no troubles with my plants." Then, she turned to the strongest of the siblings. She understood that the young bugbear-fanatic was keen to prove himself before the bugbear masters, and Iggy thought that not to be a bad thing at the moment. Indeed, they could use being on the bugbears' good side if they manage to survive this fight. "Trouble with Zorb, though. Where you wants to stand, Zorb? If you stays here on our side of bridge after I call plants, you can't get on bridge. If you go on 'Death side of bridge... well... you much on your own. Me not able to help you from here. I stays here." She then motioned with her wooden staff toward a nearby cluster of trees.
