Any of You Ever Low in Vitamin D?

This will be the second time I've heard to go to the doctor over a deficiency in Vitamin D. They actually showed me a graph. I've got 24.4 ng/ml when the norm is 30. I guess that certainly contributes to constant fatigue... On top of a non-existent sleep schedule.

Does anyone else suffer from Vitamin D deficiency? Is this common?

You do, which, to my understanding, is a big part of why vitamin D deficiency is more common. Fewer people working outdoors or spending time in the sun when they aren't working.

Vitamin D is often fortified into Milk (products), and can be synthesized with outdoor sunlight, if your systems work properly. if not, then supplements.

Ew, who goes outdoors? I spend all of my time indoors, but do go out for walks at parks every other day or so.

Also, I drink milk. A LOT of milk. Milk in the morning. Milk in the afternoon. Cereal is a staple of my diet.

I believe they have milk that’s especially enriched in vitamin d no doubt through non dubious practices on behalf of dairy farmers… so that’s an option too.

I go outside to swing my swords, or do lawn care for others. But where I live it's hot. Which dehydrates me fast. So I wait for the evening as it's getting darker and cooler most times.

See there you have it. Swing swords outside and drink dubious milk. All your problems are solved. Plus… swords?

As with any chemical necessary for quality of life, if you can't make your own, store bought is fine.

I am definitely low -- I had a doctor appt a few months ago where we did a blood test. My doc recommended getting some OTC supplements since I live in a part of the world where it rains most of the year.

It is actually quite common. I've been running low for years despite efforts at supplements. It definitely is noticeable when the numbers manage to come up. My sleeping and appetite improve, energy levels stabilize. Sadly, it doesn't stick with maintenance doses for me so the drop is inevitable. If you have a more normalized function and just low levels, those supplements can really help.
