Flavour Near the Colonies - Shortly After the 2nd Cylon Attack

Plot Summary Game is set immediately after the Cylons attack the Twelve Colonies. The current characters are elite Viper pilots who served in the 71st Battlestar Group (BSG) under the command of Admiral Nagala. They were assigned to Red Squadron, Atlantia’s elite Viper squadron that consists of BSG 71’s best pilots and best fighters. Admiral Nagala brought this squadron into being, personally selected its members and reorganized Atlantia’s Red Squadron as a group of pilots without a set mission profile, allowing the squadron to accept almost any mission. While attending a presidential Address, the members of Red Squadron foiled a plot against President Adar and then went on a secret mission to fight Sagittaron terrorists who had seized a tylium mine on an asteroid outside of the boundaries of the Twelve Colonies. They had just completed their mission when they received a badly garbled message that said that the Colonies were under attack. The foiled plot was all over the media, so you may recognize them. As for how they came to be where they are in the game now, your character will just have to ask them. Your GM: I've been GMing/DMing games for over 25 years, and online play-by-post since 2001. I've RP'd in and GM'd several Serenity Cortex games (have two running on this site right now), and a few BSG Cortex Games. # of Players: Accepting 2-3 players. Anyone I recognize from previous games I am in or have been in that is a reliable poster may get precedence. Rulebook: This game will be using the Battlestar Galatica RPG Cortex Rulebook. I also have the book 'Thin Blue Line.' Starting Level: Veteran Time to Submit An Application: I'll keep this open until I have at least 2-3 players, and a bit longer. If necessary I'll RP an NPC character. STORYLINE: The 2nd Cylon war just started. See "Starting Game location" below for information. The rest of the Background is up to you the player. You can be almost any type of character you want, but be advised that it would be wise to have a skill set that is "of use" or you may have a hard time fitting in. APPLICATIONS: Since no rolling is required to create a character, please use this Site's "Serenity" character sheet Template as it is almost the same. Go ahead and create a character with the 48 point Attribute buy, 68 point skill buy, and 4 point trait buy. No Cylons, and no Canon Characters please. Use this rough template to put forth your submission - Character Name: Sex: Age: Physical Description: Callsign (and how/why you got it if you have one): Personality: Birth Colony: Background: GAME FORUM LINK   Some way, somehow, you are aboard the old BSG Athena. It was enroute from Aerilon to take part in a secret weapons testing operation when the war broke out. Heading back, it was jumped by Cylons and "Jumped" to its current game location - where the current players came across it. For special starting or character considerations please send the GM a PM.
