Give me your prewritten campaign recs!
My IRL group is limping towards the finish line of our current game and I offered to run the next one! Usually I like to write my own stories, but I don't really have the time to do that at the moment so I'm looking for some prewritten game recs! About us: We are a group of 4 (sometimes 5). We are currently playing VtM in a homebrew Dark Timeline Portland, OR. Between us we've played lots of game systems so I'll list only the ones we've played together: VtM, D&D 5e, Starfinder, Monster of the Week, Exalted, The Strange (Cypher System) and Mutants & Masterminds. We like roleplay over combat generally. We're willing to learn new systems and we're open to weird stuff. One of us has requested not to play more D&D but I suspect could be swayed if the game was outside the standard D&D setting. About me: Like I said, I don't have time to write something from scratch but I'd be open to doctoring up a prewritten game if it was almost right. I generally prefer fantasy over sci-fi so I'm hoping for recs in that genre. I'm not a huge fan of horror but I'm open to it, while I was researching I found tons of horror games. I'm willing to run most kinds of systems but I have to admit I struggled to run Monster of the Week and FATE--I found the rules to be kind of too wiggly for me as a DM. That said, I'm still curious if there are any prewritten games even out there for those rules-light systems and would be open to trying again. About what I'm looking for: I need a game that has a story to it, not a campaign setting. I'd like it to be more than a one-shot, but it doesn't have to be ages and ages long. I'd like something outside of D&D unless you know of something really special. I'm not really interested in running one big dungeon. What I've already found: My top contender at the moment is Masks of Nyarlathotep for CoC. Also in the running is Signal of Screams for Starfinder. Thanks in advance for your recommendations! I'll be around to answer any questions and chit chat.

If you're open to weird stuff and like roleplay, what about Pirate Borg?
There are some pre-written adventures for that system with some really good reviews on aggregate sites such as RPG Drive Thru.

I've personally never got to finish lost mines campaign.
Or dragon queens hoard.

I think I've run Lost Mines. I'm not sure that's the kind of game my group would like. At least one of us is pretty over playing 5e games and the Faerun setting so I'm not sure they'd go for either of those. Plus, I think if I run another D&D game I would probably pick Wild Beyond the Witchlight which looks pretty fun!

Which VtM were you using? White Wolf original, or the newer works offered by Renegade Studios?

Chariot of the Gods is all you need. Its Sci-Fi horror but the cinematic nature plays really well.

Renegade Studios has plenty of supplemental books for sale on their website. Could maybe find a not long campaign in there.
If you're not completely adverse to horror, and the group likes Cypher based games well enough, consider Old Gods of Appalachia. |
