Notes, Revenge Plans, Vitriol
Feel free to discuss tactics openly; there's really no risk of metagaming impacting the fun factor in this type of game.

Hi all!
Heads up: I've cut off new submissions for The Witch is Dead, BUT, anyone who has already posted expressing interest can still complete the application process to be considered for the game. The deadline for finished applications remains the same, 9/18, but we can always start early if everyone is ready before then. In the meantime, consider checking out your fellow critters' RP samples - they've all been great so far. Also feel free to use this OOC thread to start plotting your bloody revenge.

I finished my character! Beau the rat gardener, reporting for duty! Looks like we have two rats and a toad so far, I'm looking forward to see what other critters we end up with .
Also in my background I assumed the witch was burned at the stake (which they built from stuff found in Beau's garden- those bastards!), but if you had some other form of execution in mind, I'd be happy to adjust the story. Also also, I hope you don't mind I wrote Beau as coming from the mines underneath the town- it just seemed like such a fitting place for a rat to come from. Not trying to claim any sort of advantage with this- I expect every rat Beau knew has died off by now (rats don't really live all that long, after all), so I'm not trying to write a ready-to-go army of rodents into my backstory ! Although, come to think of it, an army of rats might actually not be a bad idea... Also, how technologically advanced are those miners? Pickaxes only, or might they have some blasting charges we can steal? Or magic equipment of some sort (I noticed there was a wizard tower in the village's center)? Just tossing some ideas out there, I'd be happy to discuss them IC once the game starts. Looking forward to it! |

@DemonSlayer: I‘m afraid only one animal of each kind can be the witch’s familiar, unless Mallothi decrees otherwise of course.

Hello hello!
Rolled for Fox! This should be interesting. I'll be working on my backstory and such throughout the week. I'm looking forward to the game! Hello hello @Elanir! At last we meet again! Hahaha. Look forward to meeting your lovely rat in game. @Mallothi- Is there a guide for how our spells work?

Here’s the only RAW regarding the use of magic:
Quote:
A good rule of thumb might be that the Familiars’ spells are slightly weaker than any similar 5e D&D cantrip. Assume that, up to this point, your spell has been used almost exclusively to aid in housework. So Make flame might only create a flame big enough to light a cooking fire, at a range of “across the room.” That said, if you wanted to “overcharge” the spell for greater effect, I could go for that, at a higher DC. In general, when it comes to rulings within any 1-page RPG, I will shoot for “fast and loose, but fair.”

Welcome Retry! A fox, a cat and two rats... Should I be worrying for the poor rodents here?

Significantly more useful than the spell most cats get at lvl 1: Knock water glass from nightstand.
