And to joke about it a bit? The guy is a hundred-year-old elven wizard from a whole noble House of wizards with an Intelligence of 18. He would optimize.

I am happy to do a post-Blyne+Devari situation where Tegan meets Devari (real name or otherwise). I don't really want to impose on their RP.
I think it would help Tegan to have someone who is his buddy at the start because (being a naive awkward squire) he could have difficulty just jumping in with a bit of an eclectic (at least to him, being used to chivalry and honor as the standard) party. Having someone to encourage him that it's all good and that he has a bond with, which incentivizes his engagement, would help with him becoming a part of the group.

@edit: I also think putting Devari into a position of making this introduction and then linking those she already knows to the party will be great to start the party dynamic. From what I've gathered so far our party is entirely well-intentioned so coming together might not need even need her as a catalyst, but having that job fall onto the bard feels very fitting.

@FCastor:
Perfectly reasonable! I've certainly had a similar wizard once, though that was a gnome.

For those not on the Caravan, would you like to have met prior to the start? It certainly isn't necessary, but I wouldn't mind having an in with someone. :-)
For a general personality note for Kaylen, she is not preachy or trying to convert non-believers or tell people what to do. She just tends to associate with people who also want to do the right thing. She has a strong personal faith and convictions that sometimes run counter to her own past decisions like any flawed person. I see her as soft-hearted but not overcome with the misery of the world. She enjoys having a good time and sharing joy. @FCastor, Kaylen's former mercenary company often worked with refugees in Khur, so I can see they may have met either helping Silvanesti elves relocate or in relocating Isandril himself maybe? @NoQuarter (always start singing Led Zeppelin when I read your name :-D): Kaylen would immediately latch herself onto a boy who seems, from appearances, to need her help and protection. He will definitely be pulling on her heart strings and reminding her of her boy, Rolis, so if he has been in Khur for a while that is definitely an in. @Black Jim: Xi seems pretty independent and self contained. I might rely on you for why he might be interested in spending time with her. @Andor: Pnoah will remind Kaylen of her past which is I'm sure painful and nostalgic at the same time. She's a competent smith, so she might have helped him with some point. @Begon Ugo: As with Isandril, the Company of the Sun worked in the Desolation occasionally. They could have met that way. Kaylen would be drawn to Talia's good nature cheeriness so it would be easy to see her spending time with her if she feels the same way. |

@Noquarter, Tommy: No one asked me, and you’ll have to settle this among yourselves, but I picture Aric and Tegan as a very good pair of traveling companions. They might have both taken a ship for Sanction and met there. I think that Tegan would seek to protect young Aric and would probably be willing to assist him dealing with the “business” he has in the city (Noquarter can elaborate more). The two might even have become friends. Tell me if you need a private thread.
@Lazer, Mindsiege: Done and done! Enjoy. @Hayar: All are excellent suggestions!

That could also be a great fit. I did see Aric as someone Tegan would instantly latch onto. I am not sure what the standard would naturally be to travel from Solanthus to Khur. I was thinking Tegan probably started south as that's where the Knights went (I think) after Mina outcast them. I think they marched to Solace? So it could make a LOT of sense for Tegan to have gone there, not found what he was looking for, but met Aric and accompanied him east.
I am pretty flexible either way. If NoQuarter is cool with it, it's probably best to move forward with that plan.

Whether Tegan stayed in Solamnia or traveled to Solace, I’ll leave it up to you. In any case, he probably took a ship to Sanction (as did Aric, it doesn’t have to be the same ship) and then headed east through the mountain paths to Khuri-Khan.

Okay, I will wait for NoQuarter's opinion. I like the idea.

*blinks and misses six pages of conversation*
...okay then! I liked a lot of the strategizing going on, and I agree there's a lot of synergy in the group. Tactically speaking, Pnoah (the "P" is silent, like a mime answering the call of nature) isn't exactly front-line material. Once he gets his gizmos going, though, it's probably better if he's given a wide berth. Many weapons are "point toward enemy and fire"...gnomish weapons are "if you can figure out which end is the dangerous end, point it away from yourself and hope for the best". Knowing Pnoah, he probably offered to help "improve" her gear and equipment, and after lengthy debate and possibly some not-so-subtle threats, she compromised and agreed to simply collaborate on a project. It would've been fairly recently, I suspect, since they were on opposite ends of the continent from each other.

Yeah... I feel moderately bad about the spam of messages (as I add to it with this message). That being said, for Pnoah 6 pages of conversation is basically him explaining his last experiment, right?

No, that's him explaining that there was an experiment. The actual explanation would crash the site.

I'm trying to choose between Feats and would like some group feedback. I have Xi set up with the Alert feat which has an excellent initiative bonus and immunity against surprise but the Alan-atu specific feat offered is extremely attractive from a battlefield control perspective. Before I make a final choice, does anyone have insights regarding that choice? I can miss things occasionally.
