Rolen, completed with his short rest gathered himself as the group was up to something, having to focus on regaining his spell slot, he didn't catch much of what was going on. So he stood up from his sitting position and began to look around and noticed the large sigil that was beneath them. They were in somewhere now, no longer in the complete darkness.
"Sorry, my study has placed me at a disadvantage, could someone fill me in with what is going on here? Oh, what is this?" He said, looking down, now more interested in what it was. He wondered if his training in the arcane arts could help him identify what this could be and if the group should be worried about it or not.
Grimly had given up on the finer mechanism for the moment, hoping that Aurora's treatment of the desk might just ease the task of breaking the lock in the end. The white-gowned lady dismissed him for the moment with the promise of mutilation in the future should his recommendation bring harm to her, and although the threat had appeared partially in jest, Grimly Packer had no hesitation to quickly follow Geghard's call for assistance and to extricate himself from being anywhere near the druid that had intimidated him greatly when they clashed the first time. However, he didn't make it very far as Oguun had swiftly sat himself into Grimly's path up the stairs, blocking the way with the purpose of interrogating the half-elf about the strangely foreboding comments that he had made. And while the rogue was still clearly distraught from the previous interaction or possibly any interaction with Aurora so far, the githzerai's questions had him jabbering on even more nervously.
"Me? Arcane expertise? None really, but I've already figured out that Mayuri has been using her herbal witchcraft on Almavalesh all this time!" He pulled out the bag of seeds that he had shown Oguun earlier in the dream and his expression was a bit manic when he explained further. "She's twisted the mage's memory and is clearly not acting like herself! And now she's blinded us? Why? It's because she didn't want us to see that we were standing on top of a magic trap, and did you see what happened with the mechanism inside the desk? Normally I would have broken that easily, but I'm clearly hexed, you see?" As the follower of Zerthimon scrutinized the roguish half-elf, it was immediately clear that Grimly was in over his head. His conjecture was something that he actually believed in, though blaming Mayuri for his failure with the lockpicking seemed much more like a very bad excuse. "I'm m-myself though. Yep! Grimly Packer, that's who I am, haha." With a nervous chuckle he stuck out his tongue, showing Oguun that it was only one. The half-elf's performance was looking less and less convincing to the gith and his clerical insight. If Oguun were to trust his intuition then the man in front of him was not even sure about his own identity, much less about anything happening inside this dream.
Witnessing that Grimly had gotten held up, Geghard made do and instead recalled himself of his crowbar and Oguun's advice to break the wall next to the door frame. And while a quick inspection revealed that this might have indeed been possible, it also looked like a lot more work to take out all the bricks next to the sturdy doorframe rather than to simply break through the door. Unfortunately, the hinges were on the other side, most likely to let this cellar function like a dungeon, a secondary purpose that was suggested by the barred window, but Geghard didn't see himself discouraged to simply use brute force where finesse wasn't helpful. With the help of a hammer from his backpack he loudly started to wedge the crowbar into the wood to create a gap between door and frame, and as his work was accompanied by splintering sounds he worked up even more of a sweat. Aurora in the meantime had switched to holding her open flame with her sabers as the flame had threatened to reach her fingers, and surprisingly her control with the blades seemed to make the process of not singing the already sooted wood easier.
Undeterred by any hecticness that was brought into the chamber by the more noisy adventurers, Rolen, Baka and Derek had spent their time gathering their thoughts and gathering their magic. It had come as a shock to the young necromancer that whatever enchantment had been placed on the room had been broken by something as mundane as breaking the door, he was even further dismayed when he realized that he was very much clueless about the intricate workmanship that had been used to draw the pentagram in the middle of the room. Janfadar's work had shown some similarities to this circle, but it was immediately clear to the observant wizard that this was something different enough to elude his own understanding as a mere apprentice. Baka must have come to a similar conclusion as he slowly lumbered over to the workbench to study what looked on a glance like medicinal equipment, and now that Derek was paying attention he noticed that the tools in that area seemed similar peculiar to the exotic pentagram.
This left Rolen as the last remaining adventurer that was still paying attention to the menacing art beneath his feet. And while he realized just as quickly as Derek that the intricacies of this circle surpassed the beginner level arcana that he had been taught so far, the elven wizard was struck by a sudden flash of inspiration as he recognized something interesting about a few of the symbols which meaning eluded him entirely. They were something he had seen fairly recently and although he hadn't grasped their meaning then either, it took Rolen only a second to open his second pair of eyes through his connection with his familiar spider Ara. There it was, right in the middle between a sleeping crowd of adventurers and a blue chair were the remains of Almavalesh's ritual that had taken them into this shared dream. Looking through Ara's many eyes it was an exciting revelation to Rolen as he found the same traces of foreign oneiromancy in the pentagram that dominated their quest-giver's technique, but the rush of the discovery was slightly diminished when the further comparison revealed to Rolen that aside from a few similar symbols the pentagram and Almavalesh's ritual had little more similarities. In fact, the circle that he was still standing on was clearly a much more corrupted piece of arcana, and though it was knowledge that Rolen had only been taught partially because of the sinister connotation, whatever this circle's exact use was it seemed to be under a fiendish influence. Most likely a passage into dangerous arts of arcana, and technically more in the realm of something one would see used by a warlock. In fact, the entire work in this room had nothing of the intellectual approach that Rolen had seen in Almavalesh's magic, so even if there was this hint of familiarity it was rather unlikely this had anything to do with the debonaire's own studies.
Oguun has figured out a few new things about Earlamar, whose turn we have kinda wasted this cycle. Aurora was however successful with her sleight of hand and priming the compartment's mechanism, so Earlamar will be able to take another go at the desk with advantage if he's prompted to do so. Aurora is also free to do something else with her next post, and any further handling of open flames would be optional pyromania at this point.
Geghard is able to break through the door without any unforeseen complications, however we can assume that it takes him a bit of time to break the sturdy installation apart. You may include the narration of breaking through the door with Geghard's next post, and then as mentioned before there are only steps that lead up behind the door. I'm not sure if there's already a consensus on pushing forward, but that's something you'd be able to do. Might be that you'll leave Grimly behind for a few minutes then.
The wizarding squad has also figured out a few more tidbits of information about the pentagram, so the group may make of that what they will.
Just to make things easier, you may assume that character knowledge is only shared if the act of sharing is mentioned inside the narration. You may summarize relaying knowledge through narration, write out dialogue to be more precise in what you share, or keep information to yourself entirely. Actively lying to the group should probably come with a contested deception check, however I'm not sure if that's something that would even come up.
As always, hit me up for clarifications in the OOC.
"Now that I think about it, I could just burn this desk down to the ground and use one of my mendingtricks to fix whatever was inside... Just kidding." Aurora chuckled to herself and looked to Earlamar. "Godb... Grimly, get your elf ass over here, I got it all warm and ready for your dextrous fingers. Cursed or not, you are opening this lock... Pffff!" The bride said in a demanding and impatient tone but she Intimidation: Nat 1 +2couldn't keep her composure and let out air through her nose, dropping her blades and grabbing her stomach, choking from laughter. After getting it back together, she noticed the burning rug to the floor and extinguished the flames with her boot. Aurora picked up her weapons. "No, really, try again, or we can try to crowbar it open..." She took a few steps away from the desk, to avoid making Godbert? Earlamar? Grimly? uncomfortable.
"Thank you, Grimly Packer." Oguun got to his feet. The archer seemed sure of his discomforting speculations, though his conclusions seemed flawed to the cleric if only because Oguun was already certain that the entity they had spoken with was not Mayuri. At any rate, he showed no signs of the shadows. "If there is a chance the false mate has done some kind of arcane working on us, we must simply take extra care."
Somewhat satisfied, Oguun skirted the outer edge of the sigil and Perception 11began rummaging through whatever else was left in the cellar.

"If you're waiting for me," Geghard called back to Aurora between grunts, "it'll be a few more min - " The second corner of the doorframe finally separated from the wall. "There!" said Geghard with a satisfied smile. He wiped his brow yet again and stowed his tool before placing a few kicks to push one side of the door in, and then finally to send the whole structure collapsing to the landing outside the room with a screeching crash.
The fighter flinched at the billowing dust and vainly tried to wave it away. As it gradually settled, he squinted through at the stairs beyond. "Derek," he said, "I'm wondering if you might send that little friend of yours to scout ahead while we finish up here."

Unsurprisingly, though still frustratingly, the arcane circle was beyond me. this entire ordeal had been an exercise emphasizing my incompetence. I was desperate to make myself useful, to prove myself in some small way, so when Geghard asked me to send Nephala to scout, I was happy to agree. “Of course. Nephala, take a look around.”
That taken care of, I focused my attention to the circle. “I need a few minutes to perform a ritual that might shed a clue on the purpose of this circle, if you’ll indulge me.” I began the tedious process of casting detect magic on the circle to at least determine the school of magic that it used.
