I know that Galen already did it before me, but incidentally Teema has not taken her backpack with her through the door. It's not that bad though, because fortunately all her magic works entirely without needing material components. Also, the lack of ballast could actually become useful if she decides to get one of the other characters out of the water with her.

Actually, it's only 165 pounds. So I just realized most of our party members actually weigh more than that, and even if they didn't they might be reluctant to drop their stuff into the ocean when Teema asks them to?

The room theme music did give me an idea though that I am just going to toss out. You guys can totally shoot it down if you want but; what if we used Percy's rope, tied sections of rope to Galen's arrows (he's got 3 on him) plus any other pointy-throwing weapons (javelin, spears etc) and try and harpoon the shark, with the other end of the rope tied to the boat. Then the shark can pull the boat towards land/ the door or until it is tired. Just the like the movie "Jaws".

Maybe a bad idea but just thinking out loud.

Just brainstorming with what we've got (that I/Galen) know we have on the boat right now. I don't know what all the new comers to 'The Door' have on their persons without looking over sheets.

I have javelins but in this scenario they could easily be harpoons

I wonder what the rules to "beat" a room are. Intuitively, reaching land might not even count, but also I'm pretty sure the thing will go for us instead of the continent if we try to ride it with a harpoon.

I too support leashing the giant shark. But I also see the problem of getting to land may not be the solution. BUT! I think putting a few ropes on the shark is amazing in general. Maybe if the boat sinks we can just ride the shark.
