Sorry for the lapse there!
I'll wait to see what the party does before making a post, otherwise I imagine Percy will just be sleeping. ![]() |

I was planning to get in the boat but so long as it doesn't interfere with my Axe I can deal with it.
I'm not too bad at hitting stuff so if someone with medicine or decent WIS would like to heal or stabilise Percy I will move up and try and face tank the fish folk. I almost daren't ask but is there a time limit on how long the boat stays afloat?

Sorry team, I fumbled Teema's turn a little. I figured that Teema's Viscious Mockery might be enough to kill the shark and leave the other characters free to focus on targets with more HP but she rolled minimal damage. I also had her too high in the air to stay safe after melee attacking and I didn't want to land her next to Percy to get in range for her touch spell. She has so little AC that any enemy looking her way can easily pluck her feathers. The hope will always be that enemies consider her too little of a threat to prioritize her as a target, or of course to avoid them through positioning. That probably won't always work because some enemies will prefer the weakest link first even if the backlash from the higher threats will kill them in the next turn.
@purplerook: I made an unmodified WIS save for the shark to check whether Vicious Mockery would be successful. I hope that kind of prerolling for NPCs is fine to move things a little faster, but I can stop if it wasn't. ![]()

Who has the temporary healing potion? Percy or Galen? I'm considering using that on Percy instead of a spellslot, if the opportunity arises.

Thanks for the reminder. I guess technically it wouldn't have to be Teema who uses the healing potion, but that's a concern for the next turn and I don't know if by then she'd have no difficulties to land without engaging an enemy. It depends on whether the shark's still alive, I guess.

Percy has the healing potion, Galen was without his pack.

@Purplerook: I feel Galen got overlooked in the first round of combat. I know he rolled low for his initiative and missed his attack but I still posted his actions and that he moved up next to Percy in the boat. Anyway I will post for round two. Jeez, Galen can't catch a break right now. Definitely not a melee combatant at all. Sorry guys, not pulling my weight in this fight.

@Silverfeathers,
Let’s do a bit of clean-up on Galen. Galen can draw the rapier (Free Object Interaction) and attack (Action) with Rapier. Additionally, Finesse Weapons let Galen use his Dex for hit (+6) and Damage (1d8+4) In PbB, turns are a bit different. The first turn, PCs rolling Inititive better than the Monsters Go, and the Monsters. Next all PCs go. This turn is technically bottom of Round 1, (PCs slower than Monsters) and Top of Round 2 (PCs faster than Monsters). So, Galen is acting for the 1st time, and technically at the bottom of Round 1.

@Purplerook
Okay, yes that makes things more clear and why you haven't moved Galen on the map. I will wait until you post for the monsters and then post for Galen. I would like to retract my most recent post, if possible, and use my previous post for the bottom of round 1. Would you like to keep my improvised weapon (staff) or new rolls for rapier (not they would be much better with how things are going)? |

@silverfeathers:
Concerning Galen's intent to strike the fishmen with his bow, is Galen aware that drawing his rapier and using it would be a lot more effective in actually hurting the monster that's currently killing his companion? Additionally, while I don't think purplerook would do so I am aware of a few GMs that would allow Galen to break his bow during such misusage. If this is how you want it to play for Galen, I will not complain. However, even Teema will realize that Galen's course of action is either him playing around and intentionally holding back, him losing his head and panicking, or maybe she'd even arrive at a more unflattering interpretation of his behaviour. But I'll roll with the RP however you prefer it. ![]()

I’m away from my Desktop right now. Turn processing coming today or tomorrow. @Silverfeathers, let me know your intent (e.g., melee) and I’ll adjust appropriately. Generally, I keep the existing roll, but I’m happy to adjust the modifiers. In this case I think that Galen attacks with the rapier at the bottom of round 1 /top of round 2, but misses even with the +6.

Hmm, there's no way for Teema to actually know that there is a potion inside Percy's backpack. Now that he's already failed one death save, he could die on the next. If Teema were to fly down to heal Percy right now it would cost her a spellslot and put her engaged with two enemies. I will do it, but I'd really prefer if that situation could get improved by teamplay.

If someone can shout out about the potion I can try and find it and administer it instead of attacking. 5 vs 3 seems like better odds to end this quickly.
Do we still want to try and subdue the shark?
