Rhazor Blackhand Rhazor looks at the mountaintop. "Sure, let's go!" He holds the light crossbow tight and scans the jungle. The young rogue dislikes nature. Forests are even worse. The jungle is a new low point, now.

Cha-kra The adventuring party got itself ready to brave the jungle ahead of them, though Confor seemed reluctant to join and turned back to the boat for some reason. Cha-kra never reacted much, though he did observe as the rogue walked away instead of helping his party translate any further. Fortunately, Thri-kreen telepathy overcame any language barrier, even though it was a one-way street. The mantis turned back to look down at the grung with his facetted eyes. ~We will hunt your stone serpent. Give us a guide, if you want to see us succeed.~

Briggs questions the idea of temples to the feywild and the shadowfel but is determined to see the mission through. Snapkick seems to be determined as well with an oddly mention of some women having been owed money.

Readying his crossbow curses the jungle but knows this is what must be done. It is the strange Cha-kra that finds with his mental telepathy a bond with these creatures confirm had begun.

A larger grung steps forward he taps his chest then points from his eye to the jungle. He then walks forward leaving the group.

In the jungle the sun slowly fades leaving a light glow of dim light though little daylight shines through the canopy. It becomes difficult to see past ten feet outside of the trails that have been cut or trampled down. A sweet sent begins to feel the air and you see the large grung cover it's mouth.

OOC As the party travels, Duha will stay 50' above the party, watching for any dangers ahead on the trail, though I imagine the jungle will make that difficult.

Did he think of his homeland? Cha-kra's intrusive telepathy roused him from his reverie, but by the time he reached the party, the new excursion was underway. He followed the others, without comment - quite uncharacteristically. __________ Arrogaio speaks his first words when he sees the grung's reaction to the smell, which was not unpleasant to his human senses. But the language is the primordialsame one used earlier by Confor. "What is this smell, small one?" he asks. "Is there danger?" Telepathically, the warrior-mage summons his companion owl to descend to keep closer to the party.

Rhazor Blackhand Rhazor pulls a big, stained handkerchief out of a pocket and moisten it with some water from his waterskin. Then, his binds it around his neck and pulls the wet piece of cloth of his mouth. He saw this when people protected themselves from smoke at a burning house, so the young rogue hopes that he is also protected from the sweet smell. In fact, the smell of the handkerchief is worse and covers everything else. I'm such a genius. The masked man looks at the others. "Shaoll wee goa?" he mumbles hardly comprehensible. "Oar ish theesh shmell froam a monshter?"

Cha-kra Demonstrating to his party that simply telling other creatures to do things was superior to wasting time on charismatic diplomacy, Cha-kra silently acquiesced to his success in commandeering a grung guide into their company who then appropriately began to lead their adventuring outing into the nearby jungle. There were still simply no signs of emotions on the Thri-kreen's chitinous face as he followed, and if he had noticed Arrogaio's quiet mood, he certainly made no mention. And thus they all walked together deeper into the forest, and Cha-kra seemed quite indifferent about their marching order, just until the point that a sweet scent arose and alerted the adventurers of some manner of olfactory presence. And for the first time, the humans and kenku could see the mantis freeze up as this occasion and the grung in front of him had him quite startled. While Rhazor and Arrogaio kept their calm, Cha-kra's antennae twitched violently and suddenly he bolted back multiple paces on the way that they had just come. From the maximum distance that he could take without losing sight of his group, the Thri-kreen observed what was happening to everybody ahead. He had his twin-scythe weapon in his clawed hands, and at least for now didn't appear to consider to be anywhere near such a sweet scent.

Snap Kick The sweet aroma permeates the kenku's nostrils. It's alluring, but he's been around long enough for that fact to set off some alarm bells. The feather on the nape of the monk's neck rise, and he squawks then says in an urgent male voice, "What an incredible smell you've discovered! Let's get out of here!"

Duha attempts to fly up above but the canapy proves difficult to travel through. The grung nods but does not speak continuing to cover it's mouth in response to the questioning.

Rhazor understanding the danger of the scent attempts to block the scent with a wet cloth. Rhazor asks difficult if they should go though the grung answers this quickly by continuing to move forward as the party discusses what to do next.

Cha-kra holds back trying to stay out of the scent but decides to continue moving forward to stay with the rest of the group finding being alone a greater problem.

Snap kick finds the smell dangerous but isn't sure exactly.

Continuing forward to find a garden of fresh fruits and flowers leading to a temple.

Rhazor Blackhand Rhazor passes the area with the suspicious smell without any problems Dice Con save DC10: 2d20+1kh1sh10 (9, 5 (keeping 9) )+1 ✔ Total = 10 (10) thanks to his self-made mask. He looks at the temple and the wonderful garden. "Issshh tshiissh tshe shourshe of tshe shmell?" The tip of his loaded bolt points from one flowerbed to the next. "And whoere ish tshe gardener and tshe guardsh? Aore tshey dangeroush?" The temple is surely guarded. A well maintained garden right in the middle of jungle is no coincidence. There is surely someone... or something lurking around... And Rhazor is very sure that they want to eat the group.

Cha-kra After taking his distance from the party, Cha-kra appeared quite reluctant to further proceed through the area which was quite possibly afflicted by a dangerous environmental hazard. His party however had no such qualms and when the Thri-kreen didn't see them perish upon simply proceeding as they were, he had a choice of abandoning his party or braving the risk which was in front of him. When he was just about to disappear from their sight, Cha-kra began stalking after them again, and imitating what he had seen Rhazor do before him he took one of his chatkcha and then cut himself a cloth from something within his backpack which he then wrapped around his maw. Even then it was surprisingly easy to divulge from Cha-kra's erratic demeanor that he was ill-at-ease with his party's passage into this threat, however he never complained telepathically and after a bit he had caught up with them again, silently trailing as their current rearguard. So eventually he reached the garden in front of the temple together with everyone else, and as Cha-kra's facetted eyes scanned the area, he looked for all manner of veiled threads while simultaneously assessing the source of their environmental hazard. ~Fey garden.~ The mantis spoke into his companions' heads rather curtly, and without further explanation, the Thri-kreen's carapace suddenly began to change its colour in a way that helped Cha-kra blend in with the current environment. Avoiding any obvious emitters of spores, the hunter began to fall back out of sight as he readied himself to meet the temple's guardians. For the moment he had no weapons drawn, but his cautionary approach had him stealthily blend into the terrain.

The temple now comes fully into view as a woman is seen wandering the garden watering and singing to the fresh fruit and flowers.

This quickly answers rhazors question. With his other hand the frog presses towards the ground gesturing to stay low and hidden. Pointing towards the temple a set of stairs leads past and further into the jungle.

It is then that one of the pirates says I don't feel to good and falls catching himself on a bush. Snap kick replying as he nearly falls over himself.

Cha-kra understanding what they are in recogizes the effect to be caused by spores from mycanoids enhanced by the fey touch. Breathing the spores causes those who breath them to fall asleep.

status effects dc 10 con save vs spores. If spap kick fails he falls asleep. Masking grants advantage.

Rhazor Blackhand When Arrogaio takes the fallen pirate over his shoulder and retreats, this is the sign for Rhazor to follow. A few more minutes and everyone except him, the immune one, would be asleep. And snoring comrades are no help at all. He presses his left hand to the mask to ensure that it's still tight. Then, he follows the warrior crouched back the way they had come. "Bether shearsh for a waoy aroundsh thish curshed garden!" he mumbles under the mask.
