Cha-kra With his big, facetted eyes, Cha-kra kept scanning his surroundings as well as his allies' behavior when he realized the source of these narcotic fumes to be enchanted myconoids that had evolved due to a fey influence. The grung guide gestured for everyone to stay low when a woman who was most likely the responsible fey for this temple emerged, but the mantis had previously adapted the color of his carapace to his surroundings and was already difficult to detect within the thick jungle's concealment. The spores in the air kept affecting everyone that breathed them in and even with Cha-kra's improvised mouth cover that bulged against the Thri-kreen's mandibles, he still was vulnerable to their effect and accordingly the insectoid looked quite a bit more flighty than his usual self. He made no sounds as he kept himself concealed as if he was considering his best move, when Arrogaio unilaterally decided to adhere to Cha-kra's initial strategy and turned around, backing away from the garden. The Thri-kreen himself seemed to hesitate for a moment longer but as always it was rather difficult to interpret his body language and his lack of facial expressions. But as the party began to follow the human warrior into a silent retreat, Cha-kra didn't waste much time before he wordlessly stalked after them increasing his distance to the garden until they eventually left the spores' sphere of influence.

Cha-kra With a harsh gesture Cha-kra ripped off the cloth which he had tied over his mandibles and maw, and now that they were back on the beach he looked less antsy but somehow still menacing as if residue tension was still left within his insectoid body. His carapace had adapted its color to the jungle which the party had left behind, and now in this different terrain, he stuck out more than he had before as his facetted eyes stared at Arrogaio who had unilaterally made the decision for this group to turn back. Cha-kra had displayed that his communication capability was one-sided when he had recruited the grung before them, and even now he only had just enough patience to allow the plated magician to exchange a few words with the grung before his Thri-kreen telepathy radiated into everybody's thoughts. ~Have you found a method to adapt against the myconoid spores? I am tired of constructed traps, the pirates used them on me before. If the twin temples hide danger, the fey guardian of this one could simply tell us. I could reach her with my thoughts, but I will not step foot into this hazard without sufficient protection. One of you mouthbreathers should make the fey woman negotiate. Or we circumvent this temple.~ Cha-kra's mandibles snapped shut violently. ~I had enough of such pesky tricks. If the shadow temple will be like this, I want to know before.~ His antennae twitched and it was apparent that the mantis warrior was unusually agitated.

"You see that I can communicate with this...individual," he tells the others. "He strongly recommends against entering the surrounding jungle. He might refuse us. However, the gas is not fatal, only debilitating." Arrogaio assesses the garden terrain once again, then points toward the temple entrance, enticingly close. "It is not far," he said, "but too far through this poison for many of you. We will cross one at a time, beginning with the weakest of you." Arrogaio looks meaningfully at Snap Kick and Cha-kra. "If any succumbs, I will rescue him." The fighter turns back to the guide. "Yes," he tells the grung, "we guard. And you guide. Now that you have guided us to the poison gas, we can run through it. But what of this woman - will she attempt to slow us?"

Rhazor Blackhand Rhazor nods to Arrogaio. "Your proposal sounds good. If we all wear a wet mouth guard like mine..." Rhazor points to his mask. "... then you'll have an extra layer of protection in case you do need to inhale." He looks to the others. "If the woman gets in our way, I would be in favor of just continuing to run." He looks to Arrogaio. "Or someone keep her busy for a few seconds until the rest pass and then just follow us." He taps his crossbow. "Some support I can provide from a distance, but it's not much." He wags his head thoughtfully. "Or better an illusion or something... as a distraction." Unaware of the Arrogaio's primordial skills, he adds. "And ask him, what the woman will do. Maybe he can talk to her to let us pass through the garden without any trouble."

Arrogio asks further questions reguarding the garden and the woman. The grung responds back in primordial. "Woman guards dreamers. You leave dreamers with woman no angry woman. We go past temple to dragon. "

Rhazor offers support while snapkick looks for a mask. The others stand quiet trying to understand the challenge ahead.

"'Dreamers,'" Arrogaio asks the grung. "What is a 'dreamer?'" "As I said, then," Arrogaio continues in Common. "We go one at a time. Cha-kra, Snap Kick - one of you begin. If you fall, I will rescue you. "But I do recommend a mask," Arrogaio adds as an afterthought, without acknowledging Rhazor's contribution. But then he does turn toward the rogue. "And a distraction?" he says. "I did say that you struck me as a crafty one. I leave that to you others," Arrogaio concludes. "While I devote myself to getting you all to safety." The man then prepares his own face covering.

OOC I would say to just go for it without waiting longer for the grung's clarification, but maybe I'm just impatient. Reminder: I'm proposing only one at a time, weakest first. Arrogaio will be the first responder, though it's not unlikely that someone will have to pull him out at some point.

Snap Kick The monk sneaks off behind a bush. When he returns, he has a wet tunic wrapped around his beak. He lopes over to Arrogaio and bows in acquiescence to the man's orders. Then he closes his eyes and brings his palms together before his chest. His eyes glow bright white then fill with spidery streaks of red before turning a pulsating pink. The instantly tipsy Drunken Master sways unsteadily, spins a full circle on his left heel, then speeds off along the jungle trail, leaving behind a slowly expanding cloud of dust. The sickly sweet smell of the poison spores cloys at his face, but isn't able to penetrate the monk's mask.

Cha-kra Cha-kra stood menacingly among the others, and he didn't send any further telepathic thoughts after his first considerations didn't receive a response or were entirely disregarded. Arrogaio and Rhazor seemed to be in agreement about the grung's plan being their best bet, and the man in plate mail grandiloquently suggested that he would ultimately rescue anybody who succumbed to the effect of the myconoid spores. The mantis warrior never visibly reacted to being called the weakest. After a bit further back and forth, Arrogaio further concluded that they all should commit to wearing masks again, however Cha-kra had long discarded the rag which he had used before and didn't seem to make any motions to repeat using a mouth cover. Instead, the Thri-kreen drew his chatkchas, the exotic throwing weapons which the other adventurers had noticed before, and then he turned his back to the group with one of the gruesome projectiles in each of his four claws. The insectoid didn't bother explaining about his differing physiology, and without delving into any discussion he filled the tiny holes in his carapace with imperceptible, tiny air bubbles which would allow him to hold his breath. Although Cha-kra didn't naturally have any control to close off his spiracles, his psionic powers had been ever-growing, and as such he attempted to sustain himself on recycled air as he began to dash into the jungle toward the garden without any further confirmation with his party.

OOC Cha-kra will sprint through the garden while holding his breath. He doesn't intend to stop till he's out of the spores' range on the other side. Let's see how it goes.

Rhazor Blackhand Rhazor moistens his mask again and inhales several times deeply to increase the time he can hold his breath. Then, he pulls the mask tightly over his mouth and nose. He takes a few low breaths to check the fit. He nods satisfied. Snap Kick and Cha-kra are already rushing off. No patience! Now the group splits up. Rhazor grabs his crossbow, places a bolt and readies the weapon. Then he follows the others in a crouching Running as fast as possiblesprint, holding his breath as long as possible.

Arrigio takes lead and sends the others with plans to follow and catch anyone who falls behind. The idea of dreamers is pondered along side it's implications. Snap kick quickly readies himself before leading followed by ccha-kra and rhazor who choose to hold their breath. The three pirates chase after with masks on. One of the pirates begins to fall behind becoming drowsy. You make your way to the garden and the gardener is now picking ripe fruit from the trees standing 30 ft from the entrance.

With just the grung and arrogio back at the beginning the grung responds. "Dreamers are those that sleep."

Rhazor Blackhand Rhazor keeps both holding his breath and running while following Snap and Arrogaio. he doesn't look back, much to afraid to miss a root or stone on the way and tumble. The rogue avoids the gardener, but has his loaded crossbow still ready to respond to any attack from the woman.
