Cha-kra While it was indecipherable from the Thri-kreen's chitinous face, either Cha-kra felt the same apprehension about provoking the sea spawn as a few of the adventurers did, or maybe just as likely he didn't want to waste any arrows while the party displayed a collectiveness of indecision. Either way, just as Arrogaio was the first to verbalize that these creatures were indeed going to become sport, Cha-kra was the first to lose an arrow as if the mantis had been only waiting to do so. Although his elven bow had not exactly been designed for his insectoid body, the four-armed hunter once more demonstrated that he had achieved a certain mastery of the tool as his arrow struck too and drew first blood. Cha-kra's only response to his success was drawing a second arrow.

Snap Kick Snap Kick does indeed know how to use a shortbow. As the other party members begin the assault, the kenku nocks and shoots two arrows in quick succession. Each one flies as straight as an arrow. An arrow that has been expertly fired. Both missiles penetrate deep into his sea spawn target.

The party fires on the sea spawn though confor and brigs wait for the creatures to approach. The sea spawn swim through the water using the large rocks as cover though the one being fired upon by the party doesn't finish it's approach. The sailors fire but have difficulty steering through the rocks and firing.

The sea spawn are now within thirty feet of the sheep having quickly closed the distance. They have cover behind the large rocks but sneak their heads out to keep an eye on the ship. They appear to be readying to board next turn.

Rhazor Blackhand Rhazor looks in surprise at the crew of the ship, who suddenly leave their places amidst the reefs and cliffs of the beach to join the battle against the sea spawn. Rhazor stands diagonally behind Arrogaio. "I've got your back!" The young rogue raises his crossbow and waits for a sea spawn to climb over the rail. He hopes for a clear field of fire. A bolt in the nearest sailor would be a bad start. Then comes the first target. Rhazor pulls the trigger and the bolt leaves the lead with a sharp snap.

Confor Grumbling, Confor sets aside the xbow and walks to the edge of the ship. Looking at the approaching sea spawn, the warlock elects to use one of his major magics. Looking for a preferably three within a 20ft diameter sphere but will settle for twogrouping of the speedily swimming enemies the half-elf invokes his patron's power and brings a Shatter spell, 60ft range, 10ft radius sphere, 10hp thunder, Con save vs DC13 for half dmgsphere of painful, thudding vibrations into existence among the attackers. That should discourage them, Confor thought with a grin. But looking closer he saw that the spell hadn't been as effective as he had hoped. "Damn." Screwtape, Confor thought at his invisible familiar, overfly the rocks and shoreline, look for safe places to land a boat. Keep an eye out for illusions.

Cha-kra The adventurers on the deck below kept strategizing and encouraging each other to stand strong against the strangely shaped creatures which the captain had decided to drive away from the beach on which he meant to make their party land. But Cha-kra only aimed his bow from his position up in the crow's nest, standing very much apart from any such bonding experience at all. Patiently the Thri-kreen waited for the sea spawn to come out of cover, knowing that they lacked anything to hunt at range and needed to come out eventually. Once they moved again the mantis let his arrow fly, yet this time they had paid attention to his very noticeable position and the creature that Cha-kra had targeted made a brief dive out of the way which left the projectile fecklessly crashing into a wave, swallowed by the sea in a mere moment. Undeterred, the insectoid simply notched another arrow.

Briggs IC Even with Duha's help, Briggs misses his next shot. Anticipating the imminent boarding, he stows his crossbow to free his hands and takes a position several feet behind Arrogaio and well away from the edge of the deck.

confor sends a blast of force which hits a couple of the creatures. Snap kicks arrow catches one that then catches Arrogaios spear and the sailors arrows. Oddly the stone seems untouched the force of the explosion. The sea spawn then begin their assault on the ship. One20 hit 3 damage hits arrogaio with a tentacle pulling him into the sea the other 17 hit 4 damagepulls rhazor who was nearby. The last moves next to arrogaio and 11 hitattempts to poison him with quills but cant get through his armor. The fourth attempts to pull rhazor further but they are tightly stuck to the side.
