Jump! Jump!
The Dragonrise is getting closer and closer to the mountain, but suddenly a flurry of activity breaks out among the crew. And now the adventurers see it too!
"We're going too fast!"
"We're too high!"
"We're too far to port!"
"Start the engines!"
"We can't!"
"We need the controls!"
"Turn the engines on!"

Panic takes hold and closes around the hearts of the helpless air defenders as well.
"Quiet!" 1st Mate Thorkin Greyblitz immediately asserts himself. He grabs the Air Defender next to him by the arm. "You guys need to get out now! Jump, but don't activate the token until halfway down! Preferably just before you hit the ground, or the wind will drive you off!" He looks at everyone urgently, but the fear in his eyes can be seen. The 1st mate points to the hatch in front of him with his free hand. Bottomless blackness yawns at everyone, ready to swallow everyone up for good. "Now get out!"

DMoC:Please roll a WIS save with DC 14 to see if your characters and your mounts are able to jump into the bottom less darkness by their own will or needs a friendly push by the crew or their master. This is for roleplay only. Feel free to describe it as you like.

Please roll an acrobatics check to see if your character was able to activate the feather fly token at the right time. This determines where they land on the mountain.

Khat - Rouge Female Shifter (Swiftstride) | Darkvison: 60ft, PP 13, PI 11 | Status: normal | Initiative: +5
Khat looked down. She had a hard time distinguishing anything below. The ship moving with the wind, made everything appear motionless, but the biting cold and the flecks of snow hinted that the ship was in the middle of the storm.

Khat considered herself brave. The feline bounty hunter had stalked more dangerous prey than herself. Looking into the maw of darkness, and even with the token that would let her float down, Khat had a moment of doubt. In the end, it was Sulurruk, the Borean Cleric that drove her over the edge.

The heavily armored Cleric looked at the weather and said "Borean favors us. He sent the storm to aid our assault." Then he laughed and exclaimed, " Besides, who wants to live forever?" right before casually stepping through the hatch, he was swallowed in the darkness below.

With Sulurruk's example, Khat nimbly leaped through the hatch. Once in the darkness and window, Khat attempted to use her body to stay close to the other party members and in particular, the Half-Orc cleric.

(1) Khat was no stranger to acrobatics, having done her share of leaping on prey from ambush. However, this fall was in another category as the time seemed to stretch endlessly, then the ground rushed up dangerously quickly. Still, Khat held off on the magic in the charm until it appeared she would slam into the ground.

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't really see very far in the never-ending darkness around the airship. She squinted and tried harder, but her elven sight was not having much luck. It was like an unnatural darkness, and for some reason she started to fear that perhaps the Doom had finally come. Were these the allies that would stand with her against whatever was coming? Was this the moment it started? Adrenaline and fear passed through her, paralysing her instincts. She didn't even notice that her allies had already taken the plunge. Her mind was reeling.

Fighting against the Doom had been her choice since she realised she could no longer avoid it, but not that the moment had come? As her mind battled in its own storm, something hard hit her on the back and before she knew what it was, she was plunging. The cold air biting into her body and her face brought her back to her senses, and as she flew through the air she could start to see signs of light below. This was not the Doom. What had she been thinking? Someone must have pushed her - her weakness and indecision was there for all to see. While it may have bothered some, Kazza had lived long enough that this kind of thing didn't touch her.

Anguish from the cold reached every part of her body as she concentrated on the fall, trying to get to a point where everyone else would land. But it was going to be impossible. In the darkness or in the winds they would be scattered with perhaps no hope of finding each other. And in her exhausted state, what chance did she have to do anything on her own. She could fight, but her mind was dull and her movements felt clumsy. She shook her head to attempt to shake away the biting cold, but nothing. So she concentrated until the right moment, said a prayer to the elven ancestors, and hoped this magic wouldn't be the end of her. She activated her token.

His friend has let Cujo know that it is almost time to jump out of the big vessel again, but that doesn’t look right. The wolf can’t see any ground, but he can’t smell it either. And now all the people are shouting; Cujo WIS failuresomething is definitely wrong. Beside him, Prrup-tik exhibits at least as much Prrup-tik WIS failureanxiety about moving forward. “Are you sure?” asks Prrup-tik. “If we can’t see nothin’, then how –”

The frog-man stumbles over the edge, as if pushed, but at the last moment catches hold of Cujo’s saddle. The wolf has the grung, but now Cujo definitely is being pushed, and both begin to plummet. As they fall, the 22 Acro after exhaustion disadnimble Prrup-tik, one hand still on the saddle, with the other grabs the token around Cujo’s neck and says the activation phrase.

Landing in the darknessThe leap into nothingness is as frightening as the sudden push from behind! Ice-cold air and snowflakes whistle past the adventurers and bite their faces and eyes. The weightlessness is unfamiliar and the ground emerges from the darkness much faster than expected.
Startled, each of the group activates the feather fall token and the free fall through night and storm turns into a gentle float. But the storm continues to blow and liberators are blown across the fortress before they land on the ground.
The ground slowly approaches, but mainly passes underfoot as the storm blows and blows. The group is blown apart and lands scattered on the mountain. The storm is still blowing, and visibility is severely limited by night and snow. Only schemes can be seen when landing.
