I read that there was room for four. Khat doesn’t really want to be alone, because standing aim is not in effect, and so she cannot get Sneak Attack unless someone else is in melee with her.

@LeDragon, it looks like I built Khat on an earlier version of Swiftstride Shifter. She no longer has Insight (I’ll remove the not from the sheet when I get to a computer.

Like a cat, Khat prefers a high perch (for ranged ambushes). However, it sounds like the Upper Crow's Nest is full.

Why not just ranged sneak attack on an enemy in melee? With 18 hp, I think she's by far the squishiest PC.

But I'm fine with PT alone in the lower bucket; I just didn't want to start rewriting a bunch.

Crud, I realized that I leveled up Khat (minus the HP) on her sheet but never posted in the Scarlet Legion (or rolled for 3rd level HP).

@LeDragon, sorry for the delay. Khat has been on the bench for about a year (Sep 5th 2021) and I didn't quite finish the upgrading.

Oof - these things are pretty nasty - AC over 14, disad on ranged attacks against them, and 16.5 damage per turn...and attacking the ship as well. I hope no one holds back.

1) Is it correct that there are currently four birds not flying, which can be targeted at range without disadvantage? - three on the envelope and one on a wing?
2) Can the one on the wing be engaged in melee?
3) Is it possible to stand on the envelope to engage a bird on the envelope - say, for a PC with a 25' climbing speed and bonuses to jumping?

Please confirm that birds have 'Flyby' and do not generate an OA when flying past for a melee attack.
If Khat readies a melee attack, can she get a sneak attack, because the bird will be within 5ft of someone else in the crow's nest?

If the party doesn't have a disadvantage in shooting the landed ones, our best bet is to attack them. Otherwise, Ready and melee Attack for when they close to melee range.

Right now, they have numbers (11) and attacks (two/turn) on us.

I'll wait for LeDragon's response, and then Khat will attack either one of the landed ones, or ready a melee attack for the next one to flyby.

1.) Yes.
2.) If you climb and balance on the wing, yes. If you fail, you fall! Or use a lance.
3.) Yes. The envelope is soft, but dry and not slippery.
