In the past, anytime anyone other than the DM has NPCd my character it has resulted in character death. A number of times this has led to me losing a place in the game itself as the other player was offered a chance to roll a new toon in my stead. If I was harsh earlier I apologize but the proposal was very triggering for me. I'm happy to write out a couple of default actions that might be appropriate for the DM to NPC, but I would prefer it if the only ones who played Oodiliana are myself and LeDragon. 48 hour turns can be challenging. But I'll try to keep up.

FYI for those with whom I may play in the future: I propose the rule in every game I play in. I see it as something requiring universal approval, and I'm not even looking to convince anyone. As it happens, no one has ever objected before.
For those new to WM: DMs have no special status when playing in adventures. |

Perhaps a line like this in the Combat Actions: Default Combat Actions: Magic Stone out of melee, Toll the Dead in Melee, Gath, thank-you for your apology. In terms of timing, it sounds like we are every three days (roughly).

So my original question was whether this move was possible, and whether the shot would suffer any kind of cover penalty:
With Syrota firing from point X (the blue line representing the shot) and then moving to Y. I did indeed mean the white haired monster, and it wasn't fully obvious whether the monster would benefit from cover there or not. Nor whether getting off of the cart required any additional work beyond just moving into the next square (if it helps, clearly what you were getting at was a peasant's cart, and I had been mentally picturing a carriage with doors and sides - it's a lot more obvious when I look at the map in 200% zoom). What I really didn't want was to act, and then get told I have to retcon, while I'm not able to get online to do it. It's all good in the end, since I was strongly considering holding my action to make use of Sneak Attack anyway...

Thanks for the detailed map. Indeed, the picture does not show prairie schooner, but I had no better token.
To answer in the question: the undead has bushes in front of it, thus, it has concealment.

@Greyling: Declan wants to move into the spot that Jon already occupies due to his movement closer to the dog.
Does Declan move through the bush to attack the very much damaged undead at the left side (white haired one), or attack the heavily damaged one close to Jon or attack the undamaged one in front of the caravan? I'll post again after Oodiliana's actions. Btw: Miguel is the male half-orc on the second wagon. Prod is the male human on the first wagon.

This is what I envisioned. Attacking the zombie with a yellow border. |

@Dyerdon: am I right?

It will take more movement, however if that's the case Declan will move to the spot above of the dog instead of the right side of it.

Maybe I misunderstood. Between the first and second wagon maps, Jon had moved over one square already.
Would adding coordinates on the map help? |

I had Jon move to intercept the monster that came from the north, but they shifted around him and the one that advanced from the front of the wagons closed in on his flank, trying to keep potential secondary targets of the monsters within 5 feet to make the most of his Interception Fighting Style to dull some of the damage done to others. In this case, one of the horses and a dog.

@ Greyling: It may be more dramatic anyway if you climbed over the horses three-Muskateer's style to attack the forward zombie, thereby finding yourself between both Declan and the lead zombie.
Agreed tho that coordinates would be beneficial.

That was the thought. However, I kind of like Gath's suggestion of going over the horse. Declan does have decent acrobatics.
Declan's attack would be against the zombie with a green border than. Edit: going with tumbling over the horse. Hopefully less confusing. I should end up 3-4 squares to the right of where he started on the wagon... I think Last edited by Greyling; Jan 10th, 2023 at 10:03 PM. |
