Aethera, I don't know whether to be excited at the prospect of (potentially) playing alongside you, or scared that I'm competing for a place with you!

As for connections, Neev may have come into contact with Skipper if he's been crewing on ships out of Prospero's Dream, or if he's been working in the docking and/or loading bays. Even if she hasn't, I think she'd see him as non-threatening and unlikely to make any stupid moves on her. Warning: Having formed very little connection with her always-busy parents, Neev is likely to have some daddy issues that may bleed into any friendship she forms with Skipper.

Yeah if we both get picked it would be interesting to see their interactions, on the one hand there would be someone on board who knows that Wayd never actually trained professionally as a Marine, on the other hand he's the one person who might be able to help with the lie. They could also continue training together. I wouldn't want to force a drinking habit on Skipper though! I had imagined that this mentor was of the frame of mind to spend an hour drinking one drink, just for something to do, and getting lost in his thoughts. Obviously if we both get picked it's something we can hash out.

The way I conceptualized M's line of androids, it's a pretty new design. And I can completely see M as one of the first mass produced androids of this glass that was part of a pilot program to test the viability of the class in high-stress situations. Combat medics, remote settlements medics, ship medics, etc. I suppose finer details could be worked out if the characters end up in the game together

There was an explosion that resulted in Skipper getting discharged from the Marines, and I could see him being ordered to see a qualified medic wherever he went next. Medics would be on either end, anyway, and M could easily be one of them. M would also know/realize that the injury was not damaging enough for a medical discharge, despite that being what was listed on his release papers. He has some scars and a little trouble with one shoulder, but not in a major fashion. Might M have been tested in a military situation as a prototype/early model to show the armed forces what could be done? Or, alternately, have been on whatever planet/ship Skipper went to next? I apologize if I've left anyone out of character connection discussions. I only had these few ideas for "likely" connections, though random meetings prior to getting on the ship to Karth could work too!

Aww, shucks. Don't put me on that kind of pedestal. I don't deserve it any more than anyone else here with the time to write.

I think Skipper was more in the mood to find a station-side job when he got eased out of the Marines, at least until he's absolutely sick of it, so he may have worked security for the station itself or at an import/export sort of place, picking up the goods. I was going to come up with three or four jobs he's had in the twenty years he's been there, and place them all over, in higher company or lower, but I hadn't gotten that far! He's old enough to be her father, so no moves from him and daddy issues from her sounds about right. Love it!

Definitely! Oh, I don't mean a serious drinking habit for Skipper, that'd probably make him less appealing as an employee among other things, including wasting any spare cash/credit/whatever denomination we're playing with. But he's been on the station about twenty years now, give or take a few, so he'd also be past any "rosy honeymoon" phase with his employment there, and might need to relax/decompress. Maybe nursing a couple of drinks over a couple hours most nights, drinking to forget another, but mainly just present in a bar that doesn't ask anything of him rather than going home to what is undoubtedly solo bachelor quarters: a closet-like room not unlike a barracks with very little room for anything but a bed, chest, chair and maybe desk/table. Boring.

If we do, M's new design probably puts them meeting at a Prospero's Dream Station medical appointment, since he's been there twenty years after bouncing around a bit. Maybe he did something to push his bad side (minor damage to left shoulder and arm, to go with more visible but less damaging scars) while working as docking security. Maybe it's just a legit illness; he's only human, and a station the size of Prospero's Dream is going to have flu "season" just like anywhere else.
