"Well, sure. What kind of work are we talking about?" Benny spared a glance for the others in his group. "You guys are in, right? Not like we have anything to do at the moment, and we could use more money..."

She claps her hands together, and they flap a little. Water creatures. "Splendid! Now, one of my... associates, has dug up something very interesting indeed. Raging with magical energy, and has the crest of one of the town's noble families on it. What it was doing at the bottom of the ocean, sages only know. Regardless, it's sealed up quite tight, and all indications suggest it's got some... protection inside. Giant carnivorous shark, who knows. I'm a shopkeeper, mind you, and he's a diver. But, you look like a good bit of muscle. See if you can deal with whatever happens when it springs open, and I'll make it worth your while."

"Why, yes. We're quite a combat force." Benny looked at his group; Considering that Benny and Cathtwo of them are wearing armor, Benny has a bow on him, Ruffles can easily be mistaken for a huge attack dog, and Henri looks like a monk who took a vow of silence... They do look like some sort of adventuring group. "But have you brought it up on land yet? We're not going underwater, are we?" If they are, they might need some equipments to help out.

"Oh yes yes, it's in one of the storage docks. Here..."
She gives you directions. If you reach the fat hobo with the sign recruiting for flute lessons, you've gone too far. "Tell them Maidmera sent you about the glowing sea rock. That you are warriors of valor or at least with nothing better to do. Also, have him give back my prybar. It's not his, and he has enough money to buy his own." Sidequest get!

Well, the group didn't have anything better to do, and it seemed that they were getting quite good at violent stuff. Benny seemed determined to acquire some of the goods that the group had been looking at, despite Henri wanting to come in for window shopping, so, why not? Some of this could be of use later. It seemed like a simple errand. Open the chest, deal with what was inside.
Maidmera seemed to have dismissed them to do what she needed them to do, so Henri ushered the others out of the shop, watching Ruffles' wagging tail to make sure he only dusted things rather than knock them over. Motioning for Benny to take the lead, she doubted that not even she or Ruffles of the dubious direction skills could mess such clear directions up.

Dice Directions?:
You find yourself in a back alley, where there is little more than an old disused wooden trash crate and a painted message declaring DO NOT TRUST YOUR EYES. A rat looks up at you warily, then goes back to munching on something far too rotten to be identifiable. You are lost.

Darn it. They were given directions for crying out loud. How did this happen?
By using his savviness, the bard instantly determined that the paint message is made by the rebels, and that this is the entrance to a rebel hideout. But seeing that they already have a stable plan A... "Yeah. This is not the docks. We must have taken a wrong turn. Let's head back and try again, or ask someone for directions." He told the others. However Benny took a mental note of this place, in case they want to add another alphabet to their cute little list of plans that Benny made mentally. |

Dice What Could Possibly Go Wrong?:
There we go. You find the place. Finally. You are very glad Coyote isn't watching this time, because ugg. Perhaps one of your god-minion powers is getting lost. Inside is a medium sized room full of large clay pots, wooden crates, and little wheeled carts for carrying the aforementioned around. A small Egyptian man with It's like he's wearing nothing at all... nothing at all...a beautiful rippled chest and immaculate hair sits by one of them, slowly carving something into the side. Perhaps you should inform him of the magic of barcodes, which would make his life far simpler. Alas. "Oh hey, what's up? Sorry, still working on these, but the chains are done if you want to pick them up." He seems to have you confused for his local porter, given that he didn't look up from his chiseling.

Looking a bit aggravated, Henri turned to the others with a shrug before following Benny this time. The message to not trust their eyes was either truth - in which case they were likely outside of an invisible wall - or false. False would have them running head long into a brick wall for the amusement of the vandal. "Okay, perhaps this body is great at fighting stuff, but whatever god made her accidentally set her directional north pole to the south pole."
Trying not to look at the Egyptian man who was apparently wearing nothing at all, Henri tried to focus on the items around the area. She would let Benny keep doing the talking. Especially since she couldn't actually talk except mentally.

"Pffshaw. It's just bad luck." Benny dismissed Henri's concern. After all he couldn't tell where north is either, but he can navigate just fine... most of the time. "We're just not familiar with this place, that's all."
--- Once they arrived at the docks-- and assuming that it's indeed the right storage dock... Benny answered the busy egyptian. "Um, no. We're here for the glowing rock actually, sent by Maidmera." |

He peers over his shoulder, and claps his hands. "Ah, excellent! Good to get that out of here." He puts aside his chisels, and leads you through a door into a similar room, though less well lit and dustier.
Set in the center of the room is a 4 foot tall jade dodecahedron, covered in Abjuration runes and chained to the ground. It occasionally vibrates a little, as if there was some giant badger inside raring to get out. "I'll just, uh... be over here. The big rune on the front opens it up, but uh... be careful, yes?" He cowers behind a box, like a smart individual. He would be better served by safety goggles, but such things are not common here.

Henri followed the man with the rest, wrinkling her nose as she struggled not to sneeze with the dust around. The jade item covered in runes would have been gorgeous looking if she didn't expect that whatever they had come for was making it move. Waiting until the group entered, Henri closed the door they had come through and stood in front of it, ready to try and keep whatever they had come for from escaping out the obvious exit. If the thing was covered in weird glowy stuff, then likely it was magical and could go through a door, but there was only one Henri, and only one door.

Catherine stood and took up a battle stance holding both of her hands together ready to form some sort of weapon, should the situation require it... "Okay so does anyone have a plan or are we just doing this how we normally do?" Catherine looked to Benny, Henri, and lastly their magical dog Ruffles. While Catherine expected Ruffles to formulate some sort of plan revolving around fish and eating she was simply anxious to get whatever it is they needed get done with underway.

You poke the chest, and with a violent shudder, it bursts open in a spew of blue light. Out comes... hmm. You honestly don't know what it is. 9 feet tall, resembling not so much as an oversized catfish with 6 noodley(almost fin-like) arms. It's covered in what looks like clay plates with runic lines leading between them, as an armor of sorts, and is wearing an expression of staggering distaste.
"GO... AWAY! THIS IS *MY* BOX! GET YOUR OWN!" He prepares to strike out at you... somehow. How dare you wake him up. Rude.
