There is a place near my old haunting ground called Pratts Bottom.
Silly place names, a thread could be worth of such...

Let’s just assume nobody wants to hang out with Dirkoth and hijack this thread?

So, I was born in North Carolina because my dad was just getting to retire from the USMC. I was born at Camp Lejeune, named for the 13th Commandant of the USMC. Not too terrible a place name. Then we moved to NJ. Yes, NJ where we lived near cities and towns with names like, Piscataway and Picatinny, all we needed was PickANose. There was also the rather famous at the time town of Hoboken, where Frank Sinatra was born, and Lake Hopatcong, where he would vacation. These all come from Native American names for places.

I would never believe Dildo was a place, until I found some more which beggars belief. Some I can't say 'cos they would get me a naughty step timeout... Bell End - prominent names in both Worcestershire and Northampton. The infamous Butthole Lane in Leicestershire (yes really!) Cockermouth in Cumbria, not to be outdone by Cocks of Cornwall. Cocks is actually old English for Hillocks. Fingeringhoe of Essex is not as rude ot as silly as it actually sounds."ing" refers to people of a certain location, a derivative of "ingas"and "hoe" or "hoh" as it was originally called, refers to a protruding piece of land, or heel. And finally, probably my favourite, is Great Cockup of the Lake District! Yes, there are some really silly ames out there.

Magpie Lane in Oxford has an older name which you find in the linked Wikipedia page. Better not named here but it apparently meant exactly what it sounds like. More English cities had lanes with that name. Middle Agers were frank people.

There is an English village called Nether Wallop. It’s most famous for having the house used as Miss Marple’s home, in the Joan Hickson adaptation.

If we're talking weird city names, might I suggest Boring, Oregon, and its sister cities Dull, Scotland and Bland, Australia.
