Howdy all. Really liking our prospective game here. Vikings have been one of my favorite interests for a few years now. Love that Digor is using a historically based theme for them. I have to admit I'd seen nothing about these swords and there are a few things in particular I find intriguing but that's for another time.

Yeah, looks like a fun game. Did some digging into Viking social history for my application. Pretty cool when you can apply to a game and learn some real human history at the same time.

They were actually a really progressive society. I am using a Finnish origin. Historically, they were considered Norsemen, but they had many unique social features.

I'm surprised that this isn't lighting up with posts. What shall we discuss? History? Lore? Vikings?

Just a HEADS UP folks... 2 days left to have the Phase TWO Applications DONE. Some are, some are WIP and a couple have yet to even start. I will try and make some comments, but these next few days have been busy - DO NOT WAIT FOR ME! Finish up by the 13th. Five players will be chosen.

True, the Finns or what did the Vikings call them? Was it Lapplanders? Anyway while they shared a lot of geography with the norse they were considered outsiders. I did some research on a Finnish character for a book I started but haven't managed to complete lol. They are considered one of the purest racial stocks around. Because of the terrain and topographical features of their country they never mixed extensively with many of the prehistoric people that were more nomadic. Very hard to pin-down culture for us history hobbyists though. They were even more of an oral society than the celts so we get few of their myths and legends and contemporary history. We do have the Kavemala though which is so foreign from Nordic myth. Even today though they have a strong connection to their past and it's spiritual roots. I particularly like some of the stuff coming out about Finnish shamanism.

good luck folks. Wish I could guess what the cast is going to be lol. This is almost like Christmas. I have absolutely no idea who the other players are or what their apps look like. It's enough to make a person just a tad batty.

Sorry I procrastinated on getting my thoughts onto paper, but I'm glad to be into the game. I'm doing chores today and have to work tonight, but I'll be around soon.

For everyone, I am going through the APP's for the 6th time and eliminating some. Once done I shall choose from those left.
